    In regards to Hinders song Lips Of An Angel . Sometimes you come across that one individual that you connect with them so keenly that you end up breaking up because they can’t handle the intensity at the time , and think that your not”the one” until they go on the other side of the fence and find the grass isn’t so green after all .
    Then the epiphany hits that the one you threw away was the right one all along . But you still follow a code , no matter how much you wish it were different .

    It is a song about that one person you cannot get over, I just spoke to mine after 35 years. It was so good to hear his voice and catch up again. We are both single, idk if anything will come of it, but those memories are still there and still sweet.

    This song has always gotten flack and I think it's because it's not a mainstream cookie cutter love song. It has a sense of realism about it that I think many, including myself, can relate to. I've always liked it.

      I know, I hate how for a lot of people, especially in the realm of reviews I've watched, they have to ascribe moral value to songs, as if the singer is always promoting what the lyrics describe. The world is more complicated than that. It's like a song can't just be a story ABOUT something to them.

    This is a misunderstood song, it's not about cheating it's more like a stuck between a rock and a hard place scenario. The guy is in a by all indications good relationship but then his ex starts calling and he learns the hard way that he isn't completely over her like he thought he was.

    • @terriertz6837

    • @princessofjedi
      @princessofjedi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      if you have to whisper so she doesn't know that's cheating. he might not be physically cheating but he is absolutely cheating emotionally. you can still appreciate where he is coming from, and understand where he is coming from, while also acknowledging that he is cheating and that it is ABSOLUTELY going to crush the woman he is with now. its cruel.

    • @unicornawesome1739
      @unicornawesome1739 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lmao, that’s called cheating. You can cheat without touching. If you’re partner isn’t the only person you see or think of romantically you are cheating.

      @BigFry9591 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The fuck is wrong with you people? You can be in love with a celebrity, and it still count as cheating? What, you're not allowed to have relationships if you have crushes with people you know you can't/wont be with? That's absurd.

      A lot of people miss interpret this song. The conversation on the phone is in his head. The picture of the girl and the black and white parts of the video is from a past girlfriend that died. Hints why the current girl isn't getting super mad. She is clearly bothered by it but understands that he isn't truly over her. "let her die, never wanna say goodbye" also all the candles represent a funeral setting. And the name of the song really gives it away. Lips of an ANGEL.

    I relate with this song a lot. There's one girl I still love, and forever will. When we were together, things were mostly okay, but..like what we're seeing in this song, no matter how much you love someone, sometimes you have to move on.

    Haven't you ever just never gotten past an ex, when you knew you didn't quite fit together but still can't totally let go either? That's more the vibe of this song. It's about moving on but still thinking occasionally about that past love that you wish could have worked out. It's emotional not physical. I think it's really touching, and hits close to home.

    One of my all-time favorite songs. I have been caught up in love triangles like this many times (not to the point of anything physical) but did you ever meet that one true love that doesn't work out due to circumstances and try to move on but that person just never leaves your mind and heart? That one true love that no matter how many relationships you are in, once they end you always seem to find yourselves back together. For some reason, you just can't stop loving each other? I have in my younger years and it is such a powerful thing. Love is a funny thing.

    Hidden meaning: The girl in black and white footage is dead , his talking to himself on the phone. He puts his mind in a delusional scenario where he dumped her for another girl, and she's with another man because its easier for him to think of her death this way. He can't handle the fact that she's dead. There are many indications for this: 1) The candles in the video clip seems important, candles usually symbolize funeral and grief. 2) The name of the song "lips of an angel", people who die are refferred to as angels by their loved ones, meaning that they died and became angels. 3) For the people who are wondering " how come the blond girl doesn't hear him on the phone? ". The most likely scenario : the new girlfriend knows that his hallucinating, she knows his imagining things. Talking to his dead girlfriend on the phone. She knows that this is not a real phone call. Just notice her looks, she's not angry at him ? she looks jealous of course but not angry ? why is that ? She seems worried about him, she wants to make him forget but she's failing. 4) The picture on his desk, when people die you keep their pictures right ? Otherwise why would he have this picture ? why keep a picture of his ex while living with his new girlfriend ? isn't he afraid that his blond girlfriend will see it ? 5) Song lyrics : " LET HER DIE DON'T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE " he doesn't want to say goodbye. His ready to feed himself anything to justify her absence. Anything ! He doesn't want to acknowledge that she's dead. .... his state of mind is so focused to make this fiction real, that he even got the audience to believe that this a typical love triangle about unfaithfulness and betrayal. He got you to believe his dellusions, so it can be as real as possible. but THE TRUTH : SHE'S DEAD. "its funny that you're calling me tonight" : its funny because this the same day she died. It's the anniversary of her death. This interpretation makes the song more romantic, it's about the love you have for someone who died. He's not unfaithful he's actually very loyal to the girlfriend who died. Just look at his face expression his in severe emotional pain.

    This song is a very sentimental song for my husband and I. We dated after high school and split up because he was going to the Navy and I was in the midst of a divorce after my then-husband got his girlfriend pregnant and moved her into our house. We fell hard for each other but the timing just wasn't right. We stayed in contact off & on over the years and this song just fit how we felt about each other. Ten years later, we found our way back to each other and now coming up on our second wedding anniversary.

    Been there, done that. It's very hard to be on a relationship with a person who clearly still loves someone else. Yes, my ex didn't cheat on me, but emotional attachment to someone that isn't me, still hurts the same. He's with me, but he still wants her. He's with me but he can't let go of her, the house that we both stayed in is the house that he and his ex lived together in the past. The photos that he still keeps are the photos of her and him, together. Yes, let's say that he 'moved' on already but in all honesty it seems like he really didn't. He would always cry at night because he misses her while I cry because I want him to just stop missing her and start loving me genuinely instead. Everyday, it feels like he's just using me as an object of his "moving on". It's not because he 'cant move on' from her, it's because he chose not to move on from her. Up to this day, it still hurts, we've broken up already but I still cry every single day, because even if I deny it, it still won't change the fact that I once loved someone who can't love me back the same way that I love him , it still won't change the fact that I once loved someone who clearly still loves someone else.

    According to Austin Winkler (who is the band’s singer), a real life experience inspired the song. And said experience had to do with Winkler finding it very difficult saying goodbye to his former girlfriend despite the fact that the relationship was beyond over. Winkler co-wrote “Lips of an Angel” with his bandmate Brian Howes. The track’s producer Brian Howes also assisted the duo write it. According to Winkler, it took him about thirty minutes to write the lyrics of this song.

    Lips of an Angel isn't a song about cheating. Sometimes, in life, you fall in love with someone and they fall in love with you. However, it doesn't always work out, which leads to an end in the relationship despite there being a lingering love between the two. Both people find new partners and "move on." They love their new partners, but there is also a lingering love for the one that didn't work out.

    • @jubilees-channel
      @jubilees-channel 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The word "angel" has a double meaning. The lead singer said he wrote it about a girlfriend that passed away (given his age probably in an accidentt or sick), so she was taken too soon, like a literal angel as well as the kiss of an angel figuratively that itself his soulmates kiss like no other. Why he "never really moved on" & "never wanna say goodbye". The blonde girl is the girl he's with trying to move on with life eventually, and she's a great girl. Nothing bad, and he's not cheating. But her "calling so late" is her memory still calling to him and him realizing that no matter how good the girl is now, she's not HER. And HER memory creeping back in (like the calls he's getting in the video) don't let him. He's gotta "not talk to loud" because he can't hurt his current girl with knowing she'll never be that onnce in a lifetime, lightning strike, kinda love. It's not the same even if you love someone else in a different way later. That is represented by the brunette girl who he's having very sweet memories of not cringy chearing memories. He's remembering the good times and missing them. He's trying to spare her feelings if she knew. If you look real quick in the beginning the current blonde girl actually finds a picture of the brunette hidden underneath his current stuff on the table (that shouldn't be there if she's an ex and in the past). So she knows even if he never tells her. Just like any new girl will always feel that "thing" where we as women know, but we won't know but understand. When you know tge real meaninbg and wat h the video again & listen to the lyrics for all the double meanings, it becomes the saddest but most beautiful love power ballad on top iof the amazing music & his angel like voice himself.

    You gotta see this in a different light. Read into the lyrics, its a modern day Romeo and Juliet without the dual suicide. For reasons, not explained, they were not able to remain together but they still love each other. Both tried to move on, but are both trying.

  • @actioninmyphannypack
    @actioninmyphannypack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It’s about a man finding it difficult to remain faithful to his current partner simply because he still has strong feelings for his former girlfriend, whom in his eyes has lips comparable to that of an angel. And it is apparent that said ex-girlfriend also still has strong feelings for him, considering she called him pretty late at night just to talk to him. And this late night call makes it even more difficult for him to forget about her. At the end of the day, he is missing her badly to the point where he is even wishing she was his current girlfriend.
    As the song progresses, it becomes even more and more apparent that both of them haven’t actually moved on. However, considering the narrator is already in a new relationship, it is not likely they might be able to get back together.
    The question about calling him so late is kind of a metaphor, meaning she’s calling him so late in life, as opposed to so late at night

    Best way to describe this song.
    Good song, not so good meaning, but at least it has meaning

    • @jubilees-channel
      @jubilees-channel 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Your reactions have me tickled pink. I have cried to many of your videos especially with my sad country childhood songs playing but I love them. I'm still bingeing your videos. An I laugh with you. I love your reactions. My sleeping schedule is all messed up so for 4 days you and I have been chilling from 3am to 6pm. Life of being trapped in a sick broke down body. An just cause I like this song at 21 to today doesn't mean I was a cheater or ever condoned it but who am I to condemn another humans story as long as its not the invisible man im with cheating on me I'm good. Its like back when my dad was alive. An I was in my late teens superman by eminem came on and I was rapping everyword still know all of eminem's songs own every album even the under ground real hateful shit. An my dad turned down the raidio horrified by the lyrics to ask me a question "Elle how can you like this he is talking so gross about women?". An I just told him what came to my mind first "dad he is talking about a disgusting women not me, I would never behave that way to justify those words coming in my direction. Hes talking about a certain type dad you know the sloppy hoes, pill poppin hoes, the lying cheating, say whatever lie they can muster to sleep with the man and do him dirty, dad that aint me remember Catholic morals laced with shame and guilt aka my childhood I'm not that kind of girl.". I think he was shocked by my answer. Lol. But as a person who comes from a horrible abusive younger childhood I wrote so much poetry so when music like this and linkin Park started hitting the scene that angry fury of lyrics, that music that sets your soul on fire and makes you realize you are NOT ALONE. I felt so alone in my struggles I still do but music has always set me free even if for only 3 mins at a time. So I always understood that I am no one to judge how someone else feels. Feelings are that persons reality. And if thats how they feel you can choose to listen or not but I always chose to listen cause I wanted so desperately to be heard myself and well I might learn something.
