He would go and edit that part if you noticed cuz he would he says Billy so stupid if you notice the screen it goes to the video half over so obviously it's when that happened when he died when they realize what happened
I just want to tell you that this actually happened to me as a teen-ager. I lost my young love at the age of 19. He died in an accident while I was in another state visiting my family. We were planning on getting married too. I came back for his funeral. I am now married for 30+ years to a wonderful man with kids and a grandbaby. I still think of my young love often. This song brings back those memories.
Rascal Flatts said in an interview, they left that open to interpretation. She was sick from either morning sickness OR sick from the loss of a true love, their words

@@PlumbPitiful I'm so sorry to hear of your dads' passing. 💔 The girl _was_ pregnant in the video. (In real life, her name is Amber Marshall, btw.) I Googled the video awhile back and 3 separate articles said she was pregnant. During the scene where it shows them in the truck talking and she asks him "Do you ever think about the future?", _she_ already knew she was pregnant (to him) but hadn't told him yet. Her asking him what he thought the future held, was her way of finding out how he might react to finding out she was pregnant with his baby. She never got the chance to tell him because when he showed up at their house, the girls' dad ran him off (made him leave), & he was killed in a crash after he left their house. 😢😢
This happened to my sister when she was a teenager and watching her go through this hurt and my father hurt because he felt responsible was the worst experience as a kids I've ever had
I know I'm late but after learning the actual meaning of this song Everytime I listen to it now I will tear up because it brings back really bad memories
YES! What Jace said! My wife had me listen to Broken Road when we were dating! If you have ever had a string of failed relationships to the point that you would rather be alone and then the right one has to break through the wall you have around your heart the song states it very clearly! Such a beautiful song!
Love this song; glad you got to Rascal Flatts finally! For happier songs I can recommend God Bless the Broken Road, Melt, and Fast Cars and Freedom; for more feels-y stuff I'd recommend Im Moving On, and Wont let Go
Your reaction to this video was Real!! This is a song that I play when I miss my baby girl, who died in 2012, leaving an 11 month old son. There is more Country songs that make me think of that, but this is one of them that takes me back.
I stumbled onto one of your videos and now i'm hooked. I think you've reacted to every emotional song i've ever heard. I can't wait to see your reactions to all of them.
You jumped... before you just figured out that he passed ..he didn’t run from her.. loved your reaction! I love rascal flatts, they are mine and my husbands favorite band, our song is broken road, as God brought us through trials before we could be together.. great group!
Rascal Flatts is without a doubt my favorite country band. They always have the best stories, the lead singer Gary has some serious vocals, and the songs are just amazing. Just doesn't get better than them IMO.
Man the older I get the more this song evolves for me. Now that I am older I see it More through the eyes of a father. Doing everything a father is “supposed” to do. Trying to protect your daughter and her future and pushing too far to the point you not only ruin your baby’s future but end someone else’s future as well. The guilt must be unimaginable and really makes you think what it means to be a good father. To balance the line between a loving and understanding parent, and a strict and protective father. Just something I’m been think about for the past few weeks
I LIVED this video a LONG time ago. I couldn't believe it when 20 years or so later I saw this video, I was on the floor. My parents hated him. I LOVED him. I lost him and our baby. Even though I found love again, it was never like that. To this day this song crushes me and brings it all back.
Wooowwww what a walk down memory lane with that one! Early 2000s if I remember right.....its a very young Gary LeVox for sure, Rascal Flatts is one of my all-time favs. When Skin came out it was a soul clenching song as I had just been given the same news for the 2nd time. My Wish came out just before I had my son who was never supposed to be possible to have. He had colic, I had a rough pregnancy & delivery to where I took 4 months to heal; I sat in the rocking glider and stared at my sweet miracle and cried and sang it to him day after day. I wish I could describe to you the look he gets when he hears that song and I have never told him of our nights in that rocker crying together or about that song. He is autistic and I fully believe its a song engrained in him from those nights together. Mayberry has to be my fav upbeat song by them but there's also I Melt, Wont Let Go, Movin On, Fast Cars and Freedom, My Wish, Broken Road...just so many bc almost all of their songs tell a story.
She was pregnant and he didn't know. She asked him what he saw because she wanted to know if he really loved her. Her father found out and run him off. He had a wreck and died so she was telling him it was his fault...She's devastated. I understand this feeling. The song in story is a real tragedy. and I am always sad at the end. However, you had me laughing so hard when you said that being "the worst portrayal of a car accident." I had to stop crying long enough to laugh.
My favorite thing about older country music videos is they have such a story to them it's like watching a mini movie that 90% of the time hurt you and make you cry.
My dad’s buddy Jeffrey Steele wrote this. He’s one of the “Hit Men” of Nashville that dominated country songwriting in the late 90s and 2000s. Total badass of a writer and performer
Rascal Flatts always put the best in there songs and videos. The reason why it looked like that is when a car flips don't it only takes a few seconds and go so fast but they slowed it down.
@BillyYSC The actress (the teenage girl)'s name is Amber Marshall. Amber was born on June 2nd, 1988. The video for 'What Hurts The Most' was filmed in 2006, so that would make Amber either 17 or 18 at the time. 🙂
