The bike trails are great, the softness on crime is ruining the city though, picking up the name, Minne-crapo-lis. Graffiti, trash, needles, homeless, shootings, car theft, fights, loitering, etc. The original st Anthony falls was nearer to st. paul according to a national park ranger. Minneapolis has resources to deal with the cold and snow. The streets are wider for snow removal and it has several indoor parks.
Don't forget the intro to The Mary Tyler Moore Show filmed around Minneapolis, including the IDS center. And, seriously, don't forget the indie rock scene, so, so famous, spawning Husker Du, The Replacements, Soul Asylum, Babes in Toyland, Rifle Sport, The Cows
Great city, born and raised in Richfield/Bloomington and lived there until I joined the Corps. ,,,,ya don't ya know....
We also have the lowest unemployment of any state ever.
Also you can totally eat the square pizza with your hands, it's just messy!
I'm a Minneapolis native and I always ask to have my pizzas cut into wedges. I hate the little squares
hey can you do a video about its neigheor saint paul minnasota???????????????
Planning on it 👍
Reminds me of Calgary
I think you should add a small segment that mentions each city’s nickname(s). I believe Minneapolis is nicknamed the Twin City due to its nearness to St. Paul. Thanks!
Thanks for the idea! I recently tried to do a couple videos where I talk about their nicknames but they didn’t gain a lot of traction. Maybe including that topic in one of these overview videos would be the way to go though.
I’ve read that it was initially for a different town then eventually adopted to be the two largest cities separated by the Mississippi River.
Murderapolis?
The nickname for Mpls l'm familiar with is "Mill City" for all the grain elevators seen in Southeast Mpls and south along Hiawatha Ave, and overlooking the Mississippi adjacent to downtown.
We eat tater tot casserole in Missouri and Iowa too. I never knew it was a Minnesota thing. We don't call it hotdish though
Can you do Chicago pls🤔
Should have included the UMN campus, otherwise great vid 👍
Thank you!
Nice!
YOU should include Fargo in the list of movies you mentioned !!
Even though Fargo is in North Dakota
@@smnbrgss There are many scenes from that movie filmed in MPLS
Fun fact: basically no Minnesotans eat juicy Lucy's. Primarily tourists eat them.
But hot dish is a true Minnesota staple. Tater tot hot dish with spicy Italian sausage is an elite dish
Cool place to visit in the summer. Brutal 6-8 month long winters
You should say the number of floors the building have to
That's a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion!
Don't diss our party pizza like that! 😁
Lol. It tastes great but it's hard to eat!
The only 2 places I’ve HARD-DISQUALIFIED for failing to have even minimal 7+s are:
new york / denver
Why do I want to move to this amazing city?
Live Minneapolis for 20 years I hate winter cold temperatures -15
ONLY-15°F.......Back in the 70's...it would get to-50's w/o Windchill.
When I saw the cover photo of Minneapolis I thought it was Philadelphia...
Ever do St Paul
All lakes are NATURAL. Unlike ALL the lakes around the Texas cities.
You should go to West Edmonton Mall
I hope to someday!
“Pizza you can’t eat with your hands” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN IM SO CONFUSED
would love to see a video about Des Moines, the knockoff Minneapolis as it were.
Lived in Minneapolis all my life, love this city except the winters but it keeps the rif raf out.
Are you ever going to cover the big cities ?
I’m sorry, you mean “casserole” is an incorrect way to say “hot dish.”
How about St. Paul?
It’s on the list 😊
So many annoying right wingers on these Minneapolis videos.
The gold medal park is silly and the USA bank stadium is hideous and creates a lot of light pollution, but MIA is amazing. The Mall of America is quite a ways from downtown and is in Bloomington, MN.
LOL, LOITERING
@@phoenixpills that's the a good reason businesses downtown are hurting and why target is reconstructing it's entrance. Bad people hanging around outside that corner.
Yeah, i've heard the crime is getting out of control! Its sad really, such a beautiful city.
Shout out to all my dogs where are all my dogs at little homies that’s what’s up holler looya holler back little homies
Umm, how are you gonna mention “jingle all the way” but not Fargo?
And the police precinct that mysteriously burned down
The front entrance was scorched by a fire lit outside, and the inside of it was ransacked. Didnt burn down
You should’ve included in St. Paul also it’s part of a metro region and great in its own way to
It's fine. It has good things and bad things.
I live here
RIP The Metrobowl.
Jimmy Fallon is the reason I wanna go lol
I'm a sound geek and you need a pop filter ;) Or point the mic towards your eyes to avoid those pesky plosives hitting the diaphragm.
Thanks Daniel! This is actually one of my oldest videos and I’ve made some sound improvements since then. It’s probably still not great but it’s at least a lot better than the audio in this video 😊
That Was Then... This Is Now, Graffiti Bridge, Drop Dead Fred, Grumpy Old Men, Mallrats, Feeling Minnesota, Jingle All The Way
Another under the radar film from 1993,Twenty Bucks. From what I remember it was pretty good and had a well known cast.
Purple rain........ the Olympic capitol of the USA
That’s not a park, that’s a mini-mall lol
MN isn’t a 10/10 but completely blew away my expectations for example I thought coming across a 7+/10 Beautiful classy Whitegirl would take weeks, instead 8 9 10s DAILY, EXCEEDING dallas!!!
At least we're not... Detroit !!
you should have mentioned that the IDS leans ALOT🤣😂
I found it most interesting you cant eat a square piece of pizza with your hands lol :P
Here's the real truth about Minneapolis. 4 children were shot last night in a stolen car. One was eleven years old.
891 castle.
The Freemasons that stole these buildings 🎩 hide the equipment down below like national treasure movie.
Yeah except the crime...it's a democrat run city and is getting overrun with crap policy. As someone who lives in the suburbs and used to work in down town MPLS...I do NOT miss that place at all and what it has become.
