8:20 Yup, can confirm. I once got trapped in an underground carpark because of those... Was filming the car and the owner left after a couple moments, telling me to meet him outside once I’m done. I eventually stepped inside the car (left my backpack and phone outside the car) and closed the door. Without a phone or the owners manual, I just couldn’t find the „door handles“. They are not even marked as something that opens the doors... Luckily the owner came back down after 40ish minutes
This channel is only half a year old. It took hoovie's garage 4 years to get to a million subs, and apparently he runs the "dumbest automotive channel on TH-cam", so I suspect it'll happen for Issimi much quicker. By the time i get my first car, 3 years, I think Issimi will have a million.
idgi because half the episodes are on hagerty which has almost 2 mil im not sure why episodes are posted on different channels this one must be newer w how low the subs are and will probably go up as these keep getting posted
Perfect review this. It had jokes, critiques, real information and the interviewer wasnt scared to bash the car a little bit. And this last one is very important because i am sick of reviews that give all 11 grades to everything about the car when the car is obviously flawed.
There is a really bad misconception at 1:45 about weight. Weight does not help you turn. Yes, weight gives you more downward force on the tires, but also increases the force pushing the car outward. The net result would be no change in grip, if you upsize the tires to deal with the extra heat. At the same tire size, grip is reduced. I suspect the host knows this and perhaps just a poor choice of words, trying to fit them into a short sound bite.
I have been going back re-watching some of your old videos. I absolutely adore that you get paid to be yourself, rarely to the detriment of the content. The fact that you are having a visibly great time doing your shtick is both impressive and inspiring. Excellent video! Am I'm probably one of the few people that ABSOLUTELY LOVE the looks of the Senna! Why? Because it looks radical, crazy, insane and unlike anything else! And from certain angles very much like an F1 car.
This is the way you share knowledge as a journalist. The Senna hasnt move an inch and this video was great! It would be awesome that you review cars, as you have done couple times, alone on mt . The review of the Aston Martin and the LC500 was both masterpiece reviews.
Message to Jason Cammisa: Your a gem to the car community, another awesome review as usual. Hey Jason, the hydraulic anti-roll system is ingenious to me and overlooked by many, particularly the ability to stop front to back roll. Would you like to see this more widely adopted or does it remove the fun drama of body inertia?
From what others have told me (not necessarily just from the Senna or other active-control McLarens), the absence of felt body roll makes it much harder to judge weight transfer by the seat of the pants.
It seems odd to me that the ability to reduce dive and squat is seen as significant. Stiffer springs or conventional dampers with more compression damping do the same job, and you can reduce the stiffness of your roll bars to keep the cornering behavior consistent. It took McLaren a huge amount of work from a team of extremely intelligent people to develop that system to where it needed to be for a supercar manufacturer.* Being a high pressure linked hydraulic system, the maintenance bills will probably be ruinous in 10+ years as well like some older Rolls models that used Citroen(?)'s hydraulic suspension. Adapting that technology to a lower price point without throwing the baby out with the bath water would not be an easy or straightforward engineering exercise by any means. * Check out Chris Harris' Collecting Cars podcast episode with Chris Goodwin for more info on the development of the cross-linked hydraulic suspension.

Hey Cammisa I couldn't help but notice you're doing these spotlight cars on things in issimi's innovatory does that mean a Huayra roadster video is in the works after hearing Randy talk about it recently on vinwiki I'd love to hear what you have to say about it
@@eichler721 that's true but the roadster shares a lot more in common with the bc than the standard coupe from the reworked suspension and the newly developed chassis (it even got a bump in hp over the bc) the core difference is the 200 lbs weight differential between the two
That's not the correct conclusion to draw. The M838T 3.8L, not used in the Senna, was developed by a company that bought the rights to an engine project Nissan was hosting for Le Mans. The 4.0L in the Senna is a long way past that first step in engine development process.
As an F1 fan and a Car fan I love that this wasn't created by the Marketing Department trying to leverage the name of the man who led McLaren to multiple World Titles and is still most people's GOAT. Even though naming it Senna was done after it's design was put in place it still feels absolutely appropriate, the car is suitably insane, with it's focus on track performance astonishing. If ANY car were to be called Senna it'd be this one. Also if you're new to the Senna and this is the first you've seen of it, go look at it in the press/media paint job, they give it a real 80's vibe and make the car look much better than in white which looks clean but uninspiring.
"Not traditionally sexy" means f* ugly. It's as you say a track tool - but for a private driver it might be pretty expensive to run. Great and entertaining review as always - btw from whom did you get the blue high heels - which good looking lady is missing them? :)
Fair play to people going off at its design. I mean McLaren is getting things done but we've seen extreme track weapons that are still attractive in the past and we know more are coming in the future. So the function over form argument is kinda a tough sell when faster and better looking cars are proving possible by good number.
Jason Cammisa is a great presenter. So engaging, if a little.....quirky shall we say! Also the Senna is another example that a not so 'aesthetic pleasing' looking car look good in white.

I respect the hell out of the Senna, it performs amazingly. And everything you're saying is absolutely correct, Jason. I just don't like it. For the money I'd rather have a P1.

They were designed purely by aerodynamic considerations. But they are so beautiful. Form follows function, which CAN and often does result in beautiful form.
