It have the same Gibson Les Paul measures (neck radius, set neck, scale) but single coils, may I ask, why is it discontinued? It looks and sounds amazing. 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽😉👍🏽👋🏽🙂🇻🇪
because of paul, vai, satch, john petrucci, and the dragonforce guys (among others) i bought my first ibanez a couple of months ago, its a gio series rg 121ex, and got it for less than 200 quid, i love it, ive been playin 5 years and decided i want a high end guitar, and i gotta say the fireman looks sick! im after gettin a job so hopefully i can get this relatively soon, i cant wait XD
@rafaroger123 The one which only plays for a couple seconds then goes to the live clip then comes back? That one is "Undertow" First track on "What if..." mr.bigs new album, the other track played on this clip is "Daddy,brother,lover,little boy" by Mr.Big first track on "Lean into it" both amazing songs and albums!
@HurricaneTBag It's true, that Paul's tone as been quite thin and piercing, but it's his signature sound. Improvements were still made when he moved over to Marhshall though. Also hes been experimenting with JVMs so you'll never know.
@CA084 He does use a Vintage Modern for his records and live shows etc, but hes been experimenting with a ton of amps, like the JCM shown here, but he has talked about the JVM quite a bit.
8 stringed guitars sort of need the shorter headstocks to make sure that the strings don't ring out because of something called sympathetic vibrations, and make a ton of noise. Some people get that problem with 7s, or even 6 stringers too. I've seen a couple of Agiles that have 8 strings in a single line, instead of a 4+4 headstock, which to my mind just looks silly. :)
The production models of these guitars are manufactured in Indonesia. Something tells me Paul Gilbert doesn't play Indonesian made guitars, more like his ones are LACS models.
@HurricaneTBag Since when did Paul start using JVM's? He's been using the Vintage Modern for a pretty long time now. I know Satch has been using the JVM since leaving Peavey but not Paul.
@kkdav1 You're the only person I've ever hear said that JVM's suck. Satriani still uses JSXes IIRC, he used Marshalls on his newest album but I still think he endorses JSXes.
I've never paid this model no mind. But on closer look, it looks like a bomb axe. Blow a Strat out the water! I always wanted a hardtail Strat....but mahogany and set neck . But no-one ever cared to make it.. But then someone made this! AND the hardtail is Gibson's style, TOM/Stoptail...! This thing would be a toooaaaan M0NSTA!! And the singles are noiseless! (so are they really just stacked humbuckers...??) Very reminiscent of the SSS SG from Mahogany Rush (all mods..)
I have one of these and I only have one complaint. Why do you put plain dot markers on a guitar this radical? Ibanez has made great fret markers in the past, plain dots don't do it justice IMO. Plus the dots are brown plastic, at least they could have made them look nice by using abalone.
Why is Paul using a JCM and not a JVM? If he uses Marshall he should at least use the top of the line Marshalls. Also isn't that the same Fireman that he's had for a year or two? Not that I'm complaining, I like the guitar and l like Paul, I just hope he starts using JVMs over those JCMs.
@disturbtheworlds Well, JVMs actually have better sound and tonal qualities than the JCMs. What's behind the grille is of a much much much better quality. It's no secret that Paul's tone has been awfully sterile and weak for quite sometime, I was hoping that a switch to Marshall would have him using some JVMs and actually getting a really bad ass guitar tone. Never been a fan of JCMs, they always sounded like a rich man's Line 6 to me, if you're playing Marshall go for the gold.
You guys at Ibanez love your needlessly long model names, I'll give you that. We're all waiting for the FRM100TRMkII2018.
FINALLY! I absolutely love the sound of the Injector pickups
Love this guitar, and no one plays like paul!
I have the fmr 150 and it is absolutely the best guitar ive played in the last few years! dont hesitate get it today!
Paul seems like such a cool guy!
And the guitar looks killer as well!
It have the same Gibson Les Paul measures (neck radius, set neck, scale) but single coils, may I ask, why is it discontinued? It looks and sounds amazing. 🤘🏽😎🤘🏽😉👍🏽👋🏽🙂🇻🇪
What's with these "ugly" comments? This design is sweet! I want one! PG is an amazing player and a uniquely interesting person.
haha...amazing to see this in 2020, after watching the JHS Paul Gilbert video. Amazing how his tone has changed.

I have one and it's a great axe. I wish my playing did it more justice.

i agree... i'm not a shredder type in any manner but something about this i like.
@MrEyelessmaggot You can see through his face expression that he is having fun playing it, which makes you wanna play too
Also, the tool he's using is a Makita cordless drill with 4 picks routed at the front

Damn, Paul is a beast.

@AttitudeCastle Thanks A Lot!
240p??????????? SERIOUSLY?
Lol true
2011 man
@asiat30 i'm not from ibanez but i'm pretty sure its just part of the name since the guitar is mass produced
Jesus that axe sounds soooo nice.
@g00b3rsVAN.
Thank you G00b3rsVAN for your answer.
The 100 is part of the model name. It's a regular production guitar, not a limited edition guitar, like the FRM1 Korina Fireman
@HurricaneTBag Since when did Paul start using JVM's? He's been using the Vintage Modern for a pretty long time now. I know Satch has been using the JVM since leaving Peavey but not Paul.
Finally I got one! :)
finally an old school lookin' guitar
@MrXorHomer I thought he was using a Vintage Modern amp? So i thought the amplifier that he used here is just a test amp or something?
@coolmega33 is based on the left handed iceman model
Ibanez + Paul Gilbert = Best musical combination since Beethoven played the piano.
Wow. I just realized that he is probably the only guitar player that actually uses their tone control.
What is the mr.big song when Paul Gilbert is talking ?
Just a question IbanezOfficial.
The number *100* is just a simple part of the name?
Or it's the number of Red Fireman produce in the world?
@GutWrench95 I'd say it's a tie between Paul Gilbert and Ibanez, Steve and Ibanez, Gary Moore and Gibson, and SRV and Fenders
this is what you get, when you pair a strat with an iceman !! nice guitar, great guitarist !
I wonder why i particularly likes the A note
EddiKarp, because that's a note that particularly doesn't sustain very well.
What song was that. Where he use that tool for the solo?lol
I think this man has to be obsessed with that A-note he's talking about all the time..
@BaneOfXistence4 It's about 900 or 1000 dollars.
@MunterE Sweet! I will be buying this then :D
@kkdav1 You're the only person I've ever hear said that JVM's suck. Satriani still uses JSXes IIRC, he used Marshalls on his newest album but I still think he endorses JSXes.
Oh and come on Ibanez. Can't you record these awesome videos in HD?
i all cant wait to have that dream guitar
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
He's getting punched by invisible ninjas as he's playing. Not stopping to fight back just goes to show his dedication.
I WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine!
Daddy, brother, lover and little boy - mr. big
is it still 7 grand? X_x
I've never paid this model no mind. But on closer look, it looks like a bomb axe. Blow a Strat out the water!

hahaha what a spinal tap moment 'the A note' !!! LOL
Touche
the sound seemed delayed
@rafaroger123 No worries! :)
What is the song at 2:50?
Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy (Electric Drill Song)
i want
First! To say how amazing Paul Gilbert is in the comments.
@MrEyelessmaggot It's called Passion! ;)
Look at that headstock.
Hopefully this is cheaper, because when I went to look at the price of the Original Fireman and saw that it was $7000, I was like O_O.
Paul Gilbert as a guitar salesman is like the Devil himself. Comes in, films a few licks, a bunch of guitars fly off shelves haha
I have one of these and I only have one complaint. Why do you put plain dot markers on a guitar this radical? Ibanez has made great fret markers in the past, plain dots don't do it justice IMO. Plus the dots are brown plastic, at least they could have made them look nice by using abalone.
I hoped this was a cheaper version of the Fireman, cos it's way too expensive
Ibáñez.
Does Anyone Know The Name Of The Background Track When He Starts Talking?
déja vu O.o
No I can not play like that. Just so you know, Paul.
It's $900. Stop asking. If you wait for Musicians Friend to carry it, you won't have to pay taxes or shipping.
right around 0:13 it almost looked like a gibson sg.
tasty
harpsichord*
@Realrpg to play Daddy, Brother, Lover and a little boy SOLO.... Paul Gilbert is tired of picking notes..
the neck looks like the 8 string's
@c4tze You think I just like slipknot? :L No guitarist i have ever seen live has done what this guy is doing! I was only saying my opinion, chill out.
@akudal964 i give $100 just for see paul gilbert
Why is Paul using a JCM and not a JVM? If he uses Marshall he should at least use the top of the line Marshalls. Also isn't that the same Fireman that he's had for a year or two? Not that I'm complaining, I like the guitar and l like Paul, I just hope he starts using JVMs over those JCMs.
"that A note" thing seems gimmicky, but I dig the upside-down iceman look
A note... more like ass note am i right hehehe ohh damnit
Paul so goofy.
Troll
I hope he got a better guitar after this.
No one like Paul Gilbert!!! xD
Rofl ok - I don't care

great guitar but made in china,no
LOL, he uses lots of pentatonic...
one ugly guitar
@themaggot8 good.Stick with em.
@themaggot8 thats the korean model.Japanese costs around 7000$.Advice:Get an iceman and an amp or a gibson.
What is the song at 0:48 ?
Mr Big - Undertow =)
