@@alexa9xwow. That’s some response lol. I duly agree w Micks arrogance ! I will say though, staying in a ⛺️ for the Alaskan winter concerns me. Even though SP does seem level headed and obviously researches, I still think in that setup the Alaskan winter would be way too harsh.

    • @desk.jockey
      @desk.jockey 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@alexa9x Very interesting thoughts. However, I was talking about the severity of the Alaskan winter for everyone, and you reduced it to Mick's personality. If Sean Paul really planned to spend the winter on his property, he would have bought a camper and prepared it for winter. In parallel, he would slowly build an adequately insulated cabin. But for now it looks like an attempt to rock a TH-cam channel with jokes and charisma.

I don't know about others, but what I appreciate about you-and what keeps me watching every second of your videos-is your determination to make your dream come true. You are funny and modest, and I love that you are genuine. You share both your successes and your mistakes, which makes you relatable.
While many TH-camrs in similar niches can come off as fake, showcasing fancy tools and elaborate setups without any real-life experience (from what they say), you stand out. You’re not afraid to Google how to do something (and show us you are doing it), and you actively read our comments to find solutions to problems.
This authenticity allows many of us to connect with you and feel like we’re living through your journey.
Please never change! You will achieve many things and face failures along the way. Your views may fluctuate, and you'll receive both kind words and criticism from those who may not understand you. However, the people who truly care about you will appreciate you for who you are, for what you do, and for how you do it. Never forget that!

Looks like you don’t have many rocks around so keep the ones you find because they will come in handy down the road.
Also, your soil looks really good. There should be enough time left in the growing season to plant potatoes, carrots and onions. These will keep well during the winter.
Build a cold storage box in the ground. Dig down about 4 feet approximately (or more if you want bigger storage). Line it with wood( get scraps from the lumber yard if one is close) apply garden/yard fabric so it can breathe. Put a good lid on it with a bear proof lock. Cover it with moss and it will keep your food cold.
You can even put ice in and it will keep it. This what they used before refrigeration.
Trust me…..you will be so happy to have those vegetables for a nice hot stew in the winter! Plus you will have food on hand in case you ever get snowed in.
Be sure to fence in around your garden if you put one in as the deer and moose will eat everything.
It should only take you a day to make the garden and a day to build the food storage. By taking just a bit of time it will be so beneficial to you down the road!
PS……stew is really easy to make! If you want I can tell you how! Hot bowl of stew when it is -40 out warms the bones!!

Hey from Australia dude! Tip for your next log building -
Measure/mark your notches on the horizontal roof beams on the floor, next to the bottom of the charred vertical beams first, this way you'll save a few needless lifts to them mark it overhead (your back will thank you)
It will also force the vertical beams to be level from bottom to top!
When you drill in your fasteners (10 inch screws) don't go 100% vertical, try both on opposing angles, like a slight X shape that will lock the beam in
    Loving the videos mate!
I'll also caveat this with the fact that IV never built a log firewood storage, so feel free to discount the tips, your doing awsome.

I know.. why didn't he make the video weeks ago..😖 You're really doing great especially for this being your first time!!

I watch because you are living one of the things I had on my bucket list that I will never be able to fulfill now since I'm 73. And those wild blueberries, down here in the south we call them huckleberries. I used to pick about 5 gallons of them every year and freeze for the rest of the year. Add em to pancake batter, make pies, make a pudding topping for ice cream or cheese cake. Dang, make some wine lol

So, Our Veteran Friend! Thanks for your service! We are a generational military family here. Is there a way to contact you outside of TH-cam? That sounds creepy but my hubby helps veterans (out of the kindness of his heart ) and I thought I might extend that to you if you would like…. That’s all lol.
I admire you keeping it 💯. Very excited to see your videos pop up. We are rooting for you. You’re living the dream! I’m impressed with you lifting those logs with nothing but pure strength! As far as you lying around, unmotivated….i believe in resting when you need to but I also know you are on the race to getting ready for winter. You got this man!!! Now stop reading and get to work😂✌️

Hello Sean Paul. Loving the channel. Might I suggest you get a gas powered weed Wacker ( strimmer) and clear the area near your camp of debrie/ground growth. This will help to keep the bugs back the more you clear the less you will get. And try and figure out a breeze corridor. This will allow for air flow, which will also diminish mosquitoes, flies etc. Love the new digs. Keep up with the great work

Watching from Mactan, Cebu ,Philippines.... Enjoy the journey, the process of building is as important as the final result. Take your time, enjoy the scenic beauty around you, and cherish the moments spent working on your cabin. As you progress, you’ll find that the cabin becomes a reflection of your hard work and creativity.

I hope you have good friends to stay with over the winter. It is harsh in Alaska. Just a regular tent will not suffice.

I was thinking that as well, I mean, he could build the shed And then, if there’s room, relocate his tent and platform in the shed, stack logs up around the inside walls and build a lean too on the outside walls for more logs, I would imagine that would keep him quite insulated, but he’d have to be super careful if he’s going to have a log burner in the tent, or, just go hell for leather, build the shed into a tiny cabin, put a floor in, insulate the hell out of it and winter in there,if that’s even possible🤷🏻‍♀️. I love his channel and his energy, but I’m already worrying about the dog and cat in the run up to winter with bears and then the sheer savagery of winter itself!

Congratulations on a great start to your TH-cam journey. Your personality is so much like 2 of my sons and I am drawn to that kind of personality. I am a great grandmother at 82 and I am really enjoying your videos. I don’t usually comment on videos but wanted to encourage you to keep up the good work. Research what you need to do the work correctly and be cautious with your surroundings. Be careful with your work. I want you to be safe, unhurt and enjoying what you do. You will go far with TH-cam because you are a hard worker and care about people. Use tools when you need to so you can do the work so you don’t get hurt. If you hurt your back now there are a lot of years to suffer ahead of you. I really enjoy your content and I am rooting for you to accomplish your dream. Good luck!❤️

You’re cooking in the bathroom next to your poop bucket🤪 put a throw bag on your wish list. It will help you get a rope up in a tree if you get more trees hung up and you will 😬 oh yeah, the days are getting shorter and winter is coming 🥶 That tent is going to get pretty chilly 😊
Another fun video😎 Keep after it💪
