Everyone talks about the bond between a father and son when making something. It's beautiful to see the bond of a father and daughter growing stronger in this video. Thank you for sharing and inspiring other fathers to strengthen their bond with their daughters.
the bond between fathers and daughters is just as common if not more so as sons. daughters are usually really close to a good father. fathers are more protective of daughters too.
I first watch your videos because of wood working. Next i watch because of your story telling. Now, because of life lessons. You definitely one of the most brilliant youtuber.
Aaah! This video makes my heart sing! My first from your channel and I had to subscribe. I am a 72 year old tool woman who ditched a nursing career to restore old buildings. My favorite memories involved going to the hardware store with my dad on Saturday mornings. My mom and I would also go to the lumberyard to scrounge off-cuts for projects. I was lucky enough to marry a handy, supportive guy who went from construction to electrical work and took me along for the ride. I love your sense of humor and music choices, and I love that you are doing this with your daughter. And can I add, kudos for being vulnerable about your grief issues and getting help for them. Real men ask for help. No shame. Wish I weren’t so far away (USA); I would take you to lunch!
I'm an old woman, but I'm so jealous of your daughter!! What a beautiful experience for her!! My father has been gone since I was a teenager, enjoy this adventure. ❤❤
I would like to mention, I really like the way you narrate in the vidoes & the pace of your videos. It very unique & engaging. Wish you all the best with your current & future projects.
you've made me cry happy tears thinking about the bond I had with my dad. My dad had the same accent as you. My parents came to Australia in 1958. They are gone a long time ago now, but its great to reflect on the good times I shared with my dad. Thanks Jesper.
Is this a parable? Is this a series of delicious metaphors? How was the whole piece conceived and so magically constructed? Is it serendipity or just from many hours of quiet contemplation that the narrative matches the build and the whole reflects so much of what it is to be a human both now and in the past? (Just rhetorical questions my friend) Father to Son. Father to Daughter. Jesper this video is so touching, so heart warming. The story, your story; your family story transcend the build. The precious connections between generations and connections to the precious earth are not lost. To teach and then be brave enough to stand back and watch and then delight in other's success is a precious skill, the skill of a true parent. You have told us of the foundations, of the aspirations, of the struggle to begin, of the history. Shown us what goodness grows around us. Can't wait for part two where I guess you will show us what wonders we can achieve, what it is a home truly needs and maybe some prophecy about what lies above the roof about the future. (Therapy is a miracle process that is far more redeeming and healing than any addiction or pharmaceutical could ever be, seeking counselling is not a sign of weakness, it is a brave and transformational process.)
Sorry Jesper, as long as you keep making woodworking videos - and/or cabin building videos - I do not need the services of a therapist 😊. Your outlook, creativity and sense of humor continue to make me smile. It is very nice when you have access to so much building materials. Where I live there is not much to build with other than a trip to the lumber yard, which is still a two hour drive from my home. Even pallets are hard to come by, too, and often are not free unless they are very damaged. You are very fortunate indeed!
It has been over 10 years since I lost my Dad, and last week at church, i cried, because we sang his favorite hymn, and suddenly, i heard it in his voice. ❤
It's so beautiful. My grandfather worked with wood. And though my mom never worked with wood. She wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty, and figure out the problem. I remember building a bunck bed, and working on cars with my grandpa. Though I was to young to really learn much. After I married a city boy though, I was happy for all they both thought me. Unlike my husband, I wasn't afraid to retile a bathroom, fix sinks, fix electoral outfits, or work on my car. While he would have waited forever, for the money to hire someone. I found out how and had it fixed in a few weeks. Because I always saw my mom, and grandpa working on things I knew it wasn't that hard. It made my life so much better. And my son also learned this by helping me, and watching. So remember that your not only spending quality time/building a house. Your teaching not only your daughter, but future generations as well. I grew up half in the country and half on the edge of city. And this kind of lessons is unfortunately not what so much of the future generations are getting. So it's a beautiful thing.
Genuinely Jesper, you give off the vibes of one of the nicest guys on TH-cam. Your videos always feel so relaxing and personal in a strange way. Greetings from the UK!
This brought me so much joy. I love the bonding, the learning, and the passing down of knowledge. Also, Denmark is astonishingly beautiful. It’s a treat to see where you live. I’ve been systematically blocking negativity on TH-cam, and it’s paying off with videos like this.
Everyone talks about the bond between a father and daughter when making something. It's beautiful to see the bond of a wood and glue in this video. Thank you for sharing and inspiring other fathers to strengthen their bond with their wood.
I subscribed to your channel for the woodworking projects but I think now, I also look forward to the story-telling. Thank you for sharing and good luck on this new project with Julia.
My dad gave me a drill and a circular saw. :) They were his. He's a retired general contractor and he was getting rid of all his tools. Every time I use them I think of him and smile. He's nearly 70 now and I know I don't have much time left with him.
Given enough wood, time and creativity, the rest is joy. There is a great satisfaction from creating something from nothing of relative importance. Where I live, there are many rocks. Nice big rocks of various sizes that can serve many purposes. There is something about using native stone to construct useable features of your living space. I even used some of the rocks for my shower floor. Even though they are uneven, it worked out and gives me stable footing in there. Cheers!
I would have loved to do a project like this with my dad. He passed from cancer when i was 14. He was an architect too, and I often think of him when i watch things abput homes ans buildings. He would have loved the technology we have now and how easy it is to see stuff from arouns the world. When he passee the internet was still dial up and cell phones were still massive bricks that pulled trousers down! 😅 Thanks for sharing this story ❤. Yes, no building is ever free. I once had a guy from Malawi put up 80% of a stable block for me with literally almost nothing. He even reused the pallet nails and we sourced round poles from old electricity poles that had been replaced nearby. We also had some lovely paving from bricks that were getting thrown out. We got stuck when it came to the roof, however, and then shortly after that had to leave the property we were renting. But it is amazing what can be done with determination and ingenuity, and those stables were used to seperate the horses for feeding for quite some time before we had to leave. As a millenial who is stuck in the bracket of people who work three jobs just to squeeze through the month financially, I am now very much into reusing, recycling and being creative and thrifty -not just for economic reasons, but for environmental and creative reasons. So i love seeing content like this because seeing how different people tackle projects gives you knowledge and knowlege is the best resource of all ❤
I fondly remember the times my father and I built things together, fix things, dreamed up new projects. He taught me a lot, and I miss him, along with having more chances to learn with him. I still have some of the wood that he milled when I was really little, and it's like you said, the smell of different species bring back certain memories. Walnut = in the shop with my dad. Thanks for reminding me of that! I eagerly await the next video of your constuction journey with Julia!
Thank you for sharing your story. Those memories are truly priceless, and I’m glad my video could bring some of them back for you. Looking forward to sharing more of our journey with Julia!
I hope that neither of you will ever take your relationship for granted. Neither of my parents are worth a damn and watching this video made me cry. The beauty in knowing that there is such love and reliability there for both of you is truly a beautiful thing. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you for sharing that-it means a lot. We definitely don’t take it for granted, and it’s incredible to hear that our story could bring you some comfort. Sending love your way.
I just found your channel and I enjoyed this video so much! It hit my heart in so many ways. I lost my mom in 2018 and realized she was also my lifelong best friend. Life has been very rough since. Growing up, I was a major "tomboy" and working the farm with my dad taught me so much. I found out that I was capable of doing more than I had imagined and more than many of the city boys my age. Building this cabin with your daughter is such a special project that will always mean a lot to both of you, your relationship and the skills learned. I think many (at least in the US) have forgotten how important both parents are to both sons and daughters. Each relationship contributes something different, but equally important and very special. Loved your sense of humor too! You made me laugh so many times and laughter is always a good thing that we need more of these days! I look forward to the next segment in this process and will have to look at your previous videos. I love wood and woodworking, but am just learning when I have time.
This is looking great Jesper. Love how the overhead shot shows how close to the beach you are. That's awesome. And this build is great. Thanks for including the floor insulation in this one. Look forward to more on this as you put the finishing touches on it. Cheers! Scott from Japan
Absolutely beautiful storey of how blessed life is and can be. Together you build lasting memories. GOD bless those precious moments in time. Seal them forever in your heart.
Fantastic video, I really enjoyed watching the journey and bond between both of you. Very beautiful memories you are both making and I'm sure the cabin will be wonderful. Congratulations on all the good work.
A beautiful story, a journey for the heart and mind. I find myself in awe of your daughter - the tenacity, creativity and integrity she displays is hugely assuring. The more I witness of the generation that your daughter and mine belong to, the more I am assured that our planet will be in much better hands in the future. As for the video itself, this is not 'content', to be consumed as a diversion and distraction; this is cinematic videography and s-tier storytelling that warms the heart, sparks inspiration and urges the viewer to embrace their own creativity. I love your approach to making videos, quality over quantity wins every time as far as I'm concerned. What you make, Jesper, in every sense, is rare and special.
Hey brother, this is awesome. There's nothing as important as the strong living bond between a father and his daughter. As the father of one son and several daughters, I understand that. And this is something she will not only remember for the rest of her life. But hopefully be able to tell her children and her grandchild someday. I can't wait to see y'all's next video. Take care and may Father YHVH God bless y'all very much.
it so nice to see the kind of relationship you have with your daughter even as an adult Jesper. It shows that she was raised in a healthy loving environment and i love seeing that so much. Beautiful work and an amazing project to see you work on together keep up the good work man.
you have such a wonderful sense of humour and it is so lovely to see a father and daughter work together to build something solid like this. bravo. i lost my father to cancer as well and while betterhelp is not a resource i used or endorse, it was brave and thoughtful of you to talk about. thank you very much for sharing this video of time in your life.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m sorry to hear about your father. It’s never easy, but I appreciate your thoughtful perspective on sharing personal moments. Means a lot.
I am currently building a garden house with my dad and as frustrating as it may be at times, I already know I’m going to remember this time fondly for the rest of my life! Jesper, this might be my favourite video from you so far! And your daughter is a freaking badass!
Jesper, this is one of the most beautiful videos I have ever watched on TH-cam. Building the cabin with your daughter, Julie, is something you will both treasure for a lifetime. I’m looking forward to part 2. 🇦🇺
Around the summer of 1970 I became my dad's eager apprentice, building a shelter on our small piece of 'polderland' in The Netherlands. The project was extremely budget and a great adventure for a seven year old daughter.. I learned about all manner of hand tools (there was no electricity), how to drive a nail, go about a safe roof construction, which screws, bolts & nuts were used for what, you name it. A little discomfort at times only helped to feel we were committed to the project together. Like when we didn't have a roof yet and sat huddled together on a couple of chairs, holding a sheet of plastic above our heads to keep from getting soaked.. Apples and peanut butter sandwiches for lunch, and a chocolate bar on the bus home after a good day's work. Still building stuff today, still using many of the hand tools that built that first cabin - my dad long gone but never out of mind
Watching you and your daughter work together is wonderful. I'm very close to my daughter even though I don't see her as much as I'd like. I can't wait to see the finished cabin.
Thank you both. This was seriously excellent 👌👍. Congratulations on working together, problem solving together and creating something deeply special together.
Jesper, this video got me chills all the way watching this after a working day. I admire your style of making videos and talking. I am really so happy for you, that you and your daughter are getting closer on this build and that she espacially uses this opportunity to learn a lot of new things. My two daughters are yet to small for such projects but i hope that i get the chance to have some woodworking time with them in the future. As always, Kind wishes from germany and i am looking for part 2 ;-). Sönke
Thank you so much, Sönke! It’s been an amazing journey with Julie. I’m sure you’ll have wonderful woodworking moments with your daughters in the future. Kind wishes from Denmark, and part 2 is on its way!
This was the first of your videos I’ve seen and I really enjoyed it. I appreciate the fact that you give credit to other channels you have learned from or were inspired by.
This was just really lovely. Thanks so much for sharing the journey between yourself and Julia. The saw mill continues to amaze me so I am not surprised that your daughter caught the bug. All the best
Absolutely amazing stuff. I miss my dad hugely too and that bit really rang true with me. This build and video is inspiring and i cant wait to see the next part. You're both very lucky to have shared this experience together and im so very happy for you both. ❤
Glad to see you again Internet Friend. You are Even cooler than i previously had thought. Thank you, very much, from Michigan USA. Your thoughts of the past and of the future, family and of Mother Earth have touched my deepest self
You have an absolutely beautiful and smart daughter. You guys make a great team! Your videos never disappoint, always an amazing show to watch, thank you for making these videos for us all to enjoy!
Hey Jesper I just wanted to say thank you for the videos you make. I have been watching both your and Mark's videos and love the content. I have been watching a lot of your videos on repeat. Its very inspiring and has gotten me to dive into the woodworking journey. I will mainly be working with pallets and hopefully soon starting a youtube channel to show off my work. I have to say I love your story telling through your vidoes. So thank you and looking forward to all your projects down the road.
Wifie and I have our baby girl put to bed and cuddled up to watch this beautiful story together. Now we dream of building cubby and tree houses with our little girl as soon as she is big enough to hold a drill :) I hope this summer gives you the weather to get it all done :D
That sounds like a lovely evening! Building cubby and tree houses with your little girl will be amazing. Here’s to good weather and many more family projects! Thanks for all your familys support Jimbo
Wow, great video. There's a lot of work to do before you even start building. I knew that already, but seeing it in this video made it more real. Can't wait for the reveal. Good work, both of you.🔨🔨👌👌
You are so blessed to work with your daughter. She will always remember her precious moments with her Dad. Great Vlog keep up the great work. Thank you and your daughter..
Jasper I love the channel. This video rang home to me on many levels. My own father past away in 2021 and he actually left me all his tools and I use his tools in my tiny work shop. I'm very glad you made the jump to youtube. I love your videos and your channel. Thank you
Jesper what a beautiful video. Working with your daughter must be wonderful. When you mention using your father's tools it hits home for me as I too use my father's tools who has been long passed away. I always feel like he is helping me use them still. Keep up the great work !
ahh noooo! it was like watching a wonderful movie, and now it has ended...looking forward to the next one...every end is a new beginning, what nice words...it is lovely to see how the adventure of building something transforms a person, and the surrounding relationships...i have been building a Workshop, little bit like that cabin all on my own, and it gave me wisdom which i would not have acquired have i not decided to build it...the adventure continues...thank you Jesper, and Julia, for sharing your adventure of building together...😁 hello from South Africa...
Jesper, your insightful narrative logically lovingly includes your and Julia's and your father's interwoven experiences, learning ops and curves and honest and heartwamingly humorous anecdotes. The factual botanical and mechanical history helps us viewers expand our knowledge, too. Thank you for sharing this journey.❤🎉😊
Incredible movie Jesper !! 😭 Once again a story that transcends infinitely beyond woodworking. Can't wait to see Julie & you finish this project & watch what it evolves into 🧡
What an amazing video again jesper give my regards to julie from me and us here in Scotland can't wait for part 2 and more videos from you. We've missed you 👍🏴
I’m thinking about making a cabin/shed in my backyard for a homegym and this really inspired me to actually start it. So I’ve drawn up some plans and am so exited to get building!
Your video came into my feed so I watched it. I liked and subscribed because you made a fantastic video. You are such an incredible storey teller, father, son, and craftsman. What you and your daughter embarked on is so special. She is a very talented young lady. I didn't want the video to end, and I can't wait for Episode 2. You told the storey with so much humour, I laughed, and with so much heart I cried. And you taught us new skills. I wish I had a father like you, so I will 'adopt' you while watching you and your lovely daughter bring her vision and dream to life. I am picturing all the stories that will be told in the future of how father and daughter built a free zero cost cabin, that... well, wasn't exactly free because there is always a price to pay for something. 😅 But the investment is priceless. And one day, this cabin will be lived in and loved. So thank you for sharing this. Please consider writing a book. Waving from Germany. Ciao 😁👋📖📝✒️🔨🛠️⚒️🪓🔩🥽🦺👖🥾🧢🏡👨👧
Jesper, you are not only building a cabin, you are also building memories that will stand the test of time. Very precious.
Thank you, Juliet! Building these memories is truly priceless.

Thank you! It’s been amazing to strengthen our bond through this project. I hope it inspires others to do the same.
same thoughts as you

Thank you so much Dainsy! Every moment has been magical for us too. Stay tuned for part 2! ❤
This is the first woodworking video that my teenage son was interested in watching and even asked some questions. Thank you again!
That’s fantastic! Glad to hear your son enjoyed it and asked questions. Thank you for sharing that with me!

How lucky to have such a wonderful dad.

A piece of you will always be in that cabin a memory your Daughter will cherish forever

Everything about this 45 minute video was wonderful, Jesper. You are also a natural storyteller. A very gifted man.
Wow, thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Sorry Jesper, as long as you keep making woodworking videos - and/or cabin building videos - I do not need the services of a therapist 😊. Your outlook, creativity and sense of humor continue to make me smile.

Haha, love that comparison! The bond of wood and glue is pretty solid too. Thanks for the kind words!
I subscribed to your channel for the woodworking projects but I think now, I also look forward to the story-telling. Thank you for sharing and good luck on this new project with Julia.

Absolutely! It’s been an amazing experience. Thanks for watching!
You have emerged as one of my favourite storyteller/woodworkers. Thank you to you and your family for cheering us all up a bit.

Glad you enjoyed it! Part 2 is coming soon-I wasn’t ready for it to be over either!
How good is is Beau Miles!! Love his channel.
This video was so beautiful. The wat it was put together. The insights. The bonding berween father and daughter. All of it. Bravo!
Thanks 🙏
Loved the video, you are building something for now and the future, well done the pair of you.The memories of your father will spur you on too.

Well done Jesper, you’re a great man and a true father!

Thank you, Both of you. Quiet, relaxing, fun to watch and learn at the end of a hard day.
Better than a Master Class.
This is looking great Jesper. Love how the overhead shot shows how close to the beach you are. That's awesome. And this build is great. Thanks for including the floor insulation in this one. Look forward to more on this as you put the finishing touches on it. Cheers! Scott from Japan
Thanks, Scott! The beach is definitely a great backdrop. More updates coming soon-cheers from Denmark!
The look of joy and excitement on your daughters face- you did that. You are an amazing father. Awesome video. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful storey of how blessed life is and can be. Together you build lasting memories. GOD bless those precious moments in time. Seal them forever in your heart.
Seriously amazing Jesper! Both the building of the cabin and creating a womderful memory/bond with your daughter! 😊
Thanks so much! I couldn't agree more-these moments are truly special.
Julie and Jasper, carry out a project and spend time together, between father and daugther its priceless. Thanks for sharing.
Alfredo
So true! Spending time together is priceless. Thanks for watching and enjoying our journey.
Love the storytelling. Also love the woodworking but the storytelling is what makes the channel.
Awesome, thank you! Storytelling is my favorite part too.
Thanks, brother! The bond with my daughter is priceless. Appreciate your kind words.
it so nice to see the kind of relationship you have with your daughter even as an adult Jesper. It shows that she was raised in a healthy loving environment and i love seeing that so much. Beautiful work and an amazing project to see you work on together keep up the good work man.
Thank you so much! It’s been an amazing experience working with my daughter, and I’m glad that comes through. Appreciate the kind words! 😊
Thank you You tube algorithms for bringing this video to my feed. Watching from Australia. Liking and subscribing right away.
A beautiful father daughter bonding project .💚
It sure is! Thank you!
you have such a wonderful sense of humour and it is so lovely to see a father and daughter work together to build something solid like this. bravo. i lost my father to cancer as well and while betterhelp is not a resource i used or endorse, it was brave and thoughtful of you to talk about. thank you very much for sharing this video of time in your life.
Lol. That's how builds with Dads go, lots of forehead veins popping on Dad's head. Have fun with it. Mine are my best memories with my Dad.
Jesper, this is one of the most beautiful videos I have ever watched on TH-cam. Building the cabin with your daughter, Julie, is something you will both treasure for a lifetime. I’m looking forward to part 2. 🇦🇺
Priceless memories for both of you, your father will be smiling down on you both, full of pride! Best wishes from Australia x
Thank you! Those memories are truly priceless. Best wishes from Denmark to Australia!
Love what you said about short-tempered, narrow-minded people. Sending love from Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
Jesper, it is heartwarming to see a father and daughter working on a shared project.
Yay, your video is up…the masses have been waiting - can’t wait to watch it!
Yay! Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it!
Your daughter is beautiful, inside and out, you are both lucky to share each other
😊 Thank you! We are very lucky indeed.
Watching you and your daughter work together is wonderful. I'm very close to my daughter even though I don't see her as much as I'd like. I can't wait to see the finished cabin.
Thanks a ton! It’s wonderful to hear about your close relationship with your daughter. Stay tuned for the finished cabin!

This was just really lovely. Thanks so much for sharing the journey between yourself and Julia. The saw mill continues to amaze me so I am not surprised that your daughter caught the bug. All the best
Jesper I love watching your creations but you sense of humor while doing your voice overs are hilarious. 😂

A father and daughter build. 👍😍👍 You're both left-handed, like me. 👍😍👍 There's a cat in the video. 👍🐈👍 Superb! 👍🙏👍
😊 Thank you! Lefties and cats make everything better, right?
Wifie and I have our baby girl put to bed and cuddled up to watch this beautiful story together. Now we dream of building cubby and tree houses with our little girl as soon as she is big enough to hold a drill :) I hope this summer gives you the weather to get it all done :D

Wow, great video. There's a lot of work to do before you even start building. I knew that already, but seeing it in this video made it more real. Can't wait for the reveal. Good work, both of you.🔨🔨👌👌
Very true! There’s always more work behind the scenes. Glad you enjoyed the video-stay tuned for the reveal!
Wonderful father daughter bonding experience. I hope she will not be too mad when you change the locks in the house. 😂
Haha, let’s hope she understands! We’ve got a great bond, so I think we’re safe. 😂

Glad you enjoyed it! More episodes on the way!
Thank you
Beautiful story, looking forward to part II
Glad you enjoyed it! Part 2 is coming soon.
The continuity section was absolutely beautiful.
Seriously amazing video, Jesper. This was a pleasure to watch and I cant wait to see the next part. Really enjoyed this!
Thanks a ton! Really glad you enjoyed it-more to come soon!
Loved this! Here , on our farm, we build many things with used wood and roofing. Sometimes our only cost is screws!
Beautiful project and relationship with Julia. Thanks for sharing Jesper.
Thank you! Sharing these moments with Julia is truly special.
YayJulie we see you my sistah! ♥👏 What an awesome journey and wonderful story u are building together!
Julie is definitely shining! It’s an incredible journey together. Thanks for the love!
New subscriber here. You and Julia are an inspiration to families everywhere.
Incredible movie Jesper !! 😭 Once again a story that transcends infinitely beyond woodworking. Can't wait to see Julie & you finish this project & watch what it evolves into 🧡

wow, thank you! glad you enjoyed the voiceover!
I’m thinking about making a cabin/shed in my backyard for a homegym and this really inspired me to actually start it. So I’ve drawn up some plans and am so exited to get building!
That’s awesome! A backyard cabin/gym sounds like a fantastic project. Glad to hear you’re feeling inspired-go for it! 💪
Scandinavians are such nice people. God bless you and your family, Jesper! From a fellow DIYer in the Philippines ❤️🇵🇭
