We lost the external audio, so we had to use the onboard audio from the camera. We did clean it up, but it's still the external mic instead of the lapel mics we normally use. Hope it's forgivable!
I'll never forget in Young Justice Season 3 when Lobo returns to Earth where his pinky finger got cut off. He found a baby Lobo start growing from it and immediately and viciously killed it
“You know me, I’m Tempus Fuginaut and it’s my duty to please that booty in the dark multiverse” - Sal 2020 🤣 thank you Sal for making my day so much better!!
Uncle Ben once said “with great power comes great responsibility”, and that means you can’t stop this series until you AT LEAST...do the Crisis one. It’s the only way.
I was waiting for you guys to get to the end with the Lobo creatures and Ben pretty much defines my reaction to that part. The whole universe is a biker gang.
Never been this Early before!! Lobo is an Underrated and Badass Character 😎🔥👍🏾 The Main Man has the Strength of Superman and the Badass nature of Wolverine = One of the Best Fraggin Characters🖤💪🏾💪🏾 I hope you guys Talk About the Batman that Frags🖤🖤
Literally do all of these, they are such a fun and unique concept, all ripe for comedy gold. PLEASE do the Hush story at some point. Both good and ridiculous.
I love Tales from the Dark Multiverse, but there aren’t nearly enough books. Idea for a limited ComicPOP series: take a random event and spin it into a hypothetical book. Identity Crisis but Jean Loring kills all the hero’s family. Flashpoint if Barry Allen didn’t show up Darkseid War but the JL kept their god powers.
Especially if the writers of each tale actually recap what happened in the universe we know correctly, unlike the Blackest Night installment. Most inaccurate in the most pivotal moment. It's in fact the first thing I would have mentioned if I did videos talking about this kind of thing.
Well I'm thankful for consistently great and entertaining content here at ComicPop! Even if I'm not currently reading comics, I'm always happy to listen in on Sal's and everyone's conversations. Even through nonsensical stories like these, I get some joy in just hearing their takes on it. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday!
oh sal, every day at work is a nightmare recently. its been so crazy, busy, exhausting. I've lost 25 pounds in almost one month. without trying. but i love watching this show. i love these tales from the dark multiverse. if you ever do another one i bet Ethan would have a field day with Infinite Crisis. and how bout that Loki show!? pretty dope. alright i'm gonna get coffee to go with comic pop. all peace sal, gang, and POPulation
Its true, I didn't read this one. This channel has been doing so much new stuff that I've actually had to postpone watching a lot of the videos because I want to read the comics first (still need to read Three Jokers). In this case, I think it was probably more fun to watch the discussion video than read the actual comic.
I stopped reading comics long ago but these Tales of the Dark Multiverse stories are short and easy enough to get through. I can’t wait to see more episodes on the other ones!
Are there really 2 great stories out of the 5 Tales from the Dark Multiverse of the first collection? I would say the Death of Superman is the best of the bunch by far and the only one, but Sal does a great job explaining these stories.
I will say this. These Dark Multiverse stories are a blast. Some of them are stupid, but they’re entertaining, even this one. I wonder if you’ll do the Infinite Crisis one. That would be hilarious.
@ComicPop question Sal have you guys done Spider-verse and Spider-Geddon on back issue yet?? If you have not please cover it. I personally have the trade paperbacks but really would like to see you guys cover it lol. I think it would be funny as hell.
Something vastly important in a weird story already...that's what I'm about to mention and I'm kind of shocked that Sal & co. (especially Sal) didn't notice this. But when, in this dark Multiverse comic, the writer Tim Seeley is recapping what happened in the regular universe's Blackest Night event, he made a big boner mistake. A pivotal fulcrum-type mistake. What is kind of humorous is that the art recapping it was actually accurate but a couple of the text blocks were very wrong at a critical point. Sal tells us here in video that in the recap that what originally happened is Sinestro conquerors his fears or blah blah blah and then he gives the White Ring to others because he knows he needs help. That's not true. The book got it wrong. I was reading this Dark book and I'm like uhhhhh that's not what I remember happening so I went back and looked at my hardcover for that event I was like okay yeah I'm totally right. What actually happened in the original was that Thaal Sinestro received the white ring and had access to the embodiment of life, so he battled Nekron. But it's not like he merely handed the ring off to other people, cuz there's no reason he physically could have because TS was cut in half from head to toe by Nekron's scythe. So yeah while Thaal was quivering on the floor being cut in half for the next two pages before he was reconstituted, Hal Jordan took charge and took the White Ring of Life. Hal was the one who broke the Death's control of the heroes that were only partially Black Lanterns (like Wondy and Supes), imbuing them with a white energy temporarily and Hal's the one that reconstituted Sinestro at the same time into full form again and no longer dead. There was absolutely no Sinestro giving the ring to anyone in the original history and the main reason he came to the realization of needing help is that he was cut in half and other people took that choice from him. So I guess, in this weird effed-up Dark Multiverse story, Sinestro never got cut in half with Nekron's scythe, that's the only thing I can presume. Tim Seeley retold the original history poorly at the beginning of this book in the recap. Now some fools might be saying, and yes fools they be, that the recap we hear about at the beginning of the book was just the recap in a different universe or in that dark universe or whatever, but no-- in fact hell know LOL-- especially since they also say in the recap that it's a recap of the universe _we know_ as readers. I rest my case. I brought this to the attention of a few people and only a couple tried to argue it but they eventually realized what I was saying when they went back and look at it themselves. So yeah, I have no idea what was going through the mind of the writer, cuz that's kind of a big pivotal moment to get wrong. Maybe they figured it had been 10 years and people forgot. LOL
It's important to make the distinction that Sinestro becomes half Black and half White and not Grey, because there is a fan creation of the Grey Lanterns. They are the most powerful corp, but also their emotion is Apathy, so they never bother to get out of bed to show up to anything.
Regarding inks and colors. If you have a slow pencil artist, you can make up for lost time by having inkers and colorists who only have to work on 10 pages instead of 40. Kinda similar to manga artists having a team of interns to flesh out backgrounds.
*sees Mister Miracle snap Dove's neck*
*shakes head*
Damn Space Madness. Strikes again.
like a Ren & Stimpy episode
We lost the external audio, so we had to use the onboard audio from the camera. We did clean it up, but it's still the external mic instead of the lapel mics we normally use. Hope it's forgivable!
I forgive u ComicPOP!
It's fine it's actually kinda cool with the random small echos are very twisted almost like the Dark Multiverse
I was going to ask why it sounded different still not bad audio for a camera
as someone else said, must be a hell of a camera to have that decent on board audio.
Forgiven.
Sal’s deep sigh when he has to explain dumb shit is what I live for.
Agreed. I find myself doing that exact same sigh when I have to explain 60 years of political science to people who only pay attention every 4 years.
@@lukang3374 the work is tedious and frustrating but greatly appreciated when you find the one person who actually listens
"Wait, didn't he die?"
"No, that was a clone."
"There was a clone?"
*Sigh*
"Hey, comics are dumb.
But I love them. "
This is what I hear.
That's it, that's the show
I'll never forget in Young Justice Season 3 when Lobo returns to Earth where his pinky finger got cut off. He found a baby Lobo start growing from it and immediately and viciously killed it
Damn so close to Slowbo
What a mean reference to the YJ comics I loved L’il Lobo/Slo-bo! 😭
@@FloorTankMain no
and that finger slowly rotting during the credits every other episode or so until that happens ahahahha

TLDR: Sinestro is forced to reboot the universe into the embodiment of the 90s.
Uncle Ben once said “with great power comes great responsibility”, and that means you can’t stop this series until you AT LEAST...do the Crisis one. It’s the only way.
You can feel the love Sal has for comics, and he's frustration for the industry.
Well I feel that occasionally that the point you make is where he stands, but I mostly feel that he always thinks he's right for the most part.
23:46 - Little did Sal know, he just stumbled into Dragon Ball's multiverse/timeline shenanigans.
*shudders in Zamasu*
So this is how it works?
Well Yes but actually No...
"The IcyHot of the superhero teamage." Didn't know I needed this descriptor of Hawk and Dove, but I'm glad it exists now.
I was waiting for you guys to get to the end with the Lobo creatures and Ben pretty much defines my reaction to that part. The whole universe is a biker gang.
Ben: "A Gray Lantern"
Me: *wheezes*
If Lobo is saving the day then indeed is the Blackest Night. 😂
Indeed the Dark Multiverse 😂
Think we were better off with the black lantern universe.
" You know me! I am Tempest Fuggonaut and it's my duty to please that booty in the Dark Multiverse, let's go!"

That's kind of cool you spelled the guy's name phonetically

This is literally the funniest episode I’ve seen in ages. Literal laugh out loud moments.

“um… ok?”
“It’s Tales From the Dark Multiverse.”
“LET’S GOOOOO”
4:11 This physical reaction is why I live to see Ben on the couch! Lmao! Put it on a T shirt!
You'd think, using Lobo as the template, the whole universe would be populated by nothing but wolves.
Ha! Or maybe a whole universe populated by nothing but undead played by Tor Johnson
Lobo saving the universe is actually freaking insane but also really funny 😄
I love all these multiverse / elsewords / what if type stories
“I’m Tempus Fugenaut and it’s my duty to please that booty in the dark multiverse”

Identity Crisis but Jean Loring kills all the hero’s family.

Darkseid War but the JL kept their god powers.
Well a Flashpoint one is coming out and was delayed to December 9th where Barry Allen fails and the Reverse Flash wins.
I can’t wait to see you guys cover the Infinite Crisis one!
2 minutes in and im already laughing. Well done guys
Yes. Yes we do want more Dark Multiverse.

Just started. But the earths with Greek symbols is done in the Wrong Earth series. Which I would LOVE for them to look at.
Did you mean Greek letters, cuz I reckon you did. 👍
loving the shirt sal.
oh and more lobo please :)
Just Cool. I read all of these and enjoyed em. 13:01 yay the colours running Ben gag!
The Main Man is the hero DC needs. He's saving the Dark Multiverse in this book and the regular universe in Death Metal.
Brings us more. Also Lobo's always been able to make lobo clones.
Holy s***! Perfect timing! I read this last night on dc universe! Love you guys!
I love back issues I can't give enough credit to the comic pop team for spending there time for our entertainment I love all these back issues

Perfect timing! This will be just the thing to watch tomorrow after the big meal. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
I read all the dc what if’s (tales from the dark multiverse) when they came out except Judas Contract and Blackest Night’s was the best in my opinion.
I will say this. These Dark Multiverse stories are a blast. Some of them are stupid, but they’re entertaining, even this one. I wonder if you’ll do the Infinite Crisis one. That would be hilarious.
Lobo the giga chad here to save your ass once again.
