[HoI4] Naval Superpower Japan - What if Yamamoto had spare Carriers in WW2? [AI ONLY]

- This HoI4 AI-only "historic" scenario explores what outcome on WW2 would Japan as a superior naval power have. More specifically, or simply put, if it can invade United States and succeed. For that purpose it will receive x20 Super Carrier IV's and x20 Battleship IV's. Can Japan do it?

I feel like Japan had some other buffs because they defeated China already in early 1938 and had little bit less than 40k casualties
They said they gave them some minor industry buffs, some other naval buffs, and 20 million more manpower. There may be more, I forget
Also the T3 buffs.
Introducing carriers on wheels
These never play out the way I would try them.
Japan had the perfect moment to backstab the Soviets while they were still distracted with the Germans, after Japan had secured India and, but before trying to jump the USA. Getting its hands on all that Soviet resources, and land would have been really helpful in an eventual USA invasion. Doubly so if it kept the Germans alive to distract the allies in the other direction.
What Soviet resources are you referring to? The resources in the barren wastelands and under the meters of permafrost?

@@Zastavo There were resources in the Urals and Siberian territory, otherwise Stalin's victory would make no sense..
Japan really doesnt need the resources in the soviet union if they literally have the entirety of south east asia. The US and the allies are the only ones that can threaten that.
@@ursosexmachina Japan did consider invading Soviet Union, however it was largely unprofitable and would cause more problems
- Japan got their army destroyed at Khalkin-Gol border incident against the Red Army, which was suffering from purges. How were they going to attack them a few years later when they got better?
- Siberia had resources, but they were largely untouched and needed proper machinery, as opposed to easily-available resources in southern asian colonies.
- Japan was an ally of Germany out of convenience, their attack would help Germany as Stalin wouldn't be able to redirect troups from Siberia experienced in winter, but Japan wouldn't get anything out of it. This just wasn't their game.
What Japan COULD do but they didn't was sinking US Lend-Lease ships to the Soviet Union, however Japan had a non-aggression pact with them and feared Manchuria being attacked while they were waist-deep in China if they dared to attack these ships.
You can tell when the German Invasion occurs because the troops on the soviet border with Asia suddenly retreats

Agreed, I was expecting a naval war.
When I played Japan, getting through the mountains of Western US was absolutely brutal, but once I got in Texas, it was much easier. Similar thing happened here after Japan went through Mexico.
Louisiana held out till the end. I think that's pretty accurate for this scenario. Armed locals, hostile and unfamiliar terrain to foreign armies, lots of places for militias to hide. It would not be an easy state to take over.
They would go around systematically making it uninhabitable if they met serious resistance though
Fascist states aren’t as vulnerable to guerrilla campaigning as democracies ^^^

I remember playing as Italy, joined Japan in order to annex Germany and form Roman Empire.
EEUU accepted military access, so I moved 100 divisions to east coast.
They declared war in me since Japan declared on them
I spent 1 year only building naval bases so I could have supply and Canada's attrition was worse than Africa.

That is almost become "Deep Blue Fleet Scenario"
Japan's victory was less about its own forces and more about the Allies not being able to support the US due to the Soviet invasion. Allies could easily beat either Japan or the Comintern, but not both at once. If the scenario went on further, I think the allies could possibly pull out a victory, given that they have nearly as many troops as the other two combined.

I imagined what if all those naval ships became land units. Now we have Giant mobile Yamamoto cruising in the lands of America with the usage of the tank wheels, Or knowing Japanese people they will dig like a panama canal in parts of America to give access to their naval units.
All of Japan's Battleships becoming mechs.
And to think that I likely wouldn't even exist if this had actually happened. Scary stuff man.

Nice video! It is very fun to see how, 17 years after the start of WWII, Europe is still a mess and meanwhile chad japan has taken half of the world. Just one question, how do you display the tab with faction casualties and military statistics that is shown in the lower right of the screen? Is there a mod?

The Man In the high castle scenario would be great, buff Germany and Japan with 5 Years Ahead of Tech Trees
He tried a similar scenario where Japan and Germany invaded the US at the same time. Japan only got 2-3 states on the West Coast plus, for some odd reason, Louisiana.
Germany quickly declared war on Japan and took those states. Eventually Japan was invaded and lost.

Too bad that you don't show the initial manpower of Japan, to see 45M loss of Japan manpower (even more since x20 boost to manpower, initial because no need for India-China non core manpower)

Maybe make USA as a different part of allies, to see the moment they decide they want to join ww2 and create an army (to see the different in army size) and then say ww2 was about them and they won it on their own without any allies, blindfolded, with their arms tied behind their back😂

@@GameWatcher545 yes, for my part no matter how useless it is(you mostly care about %manpower instead) (unless I play until year 1970😂) I like to see the manpower I have (and the manpower bonus, not the %of manpower) (even more as the year progress, after a great war, I tend to puppet my conquest to only have my core manpower (and because I tend to prefer using their manpower - I choose the template they have that I like) and building their industry as puppet state rather than having lot of non core manpower, since à part of their industry comes back to me except for shipyards - but I found a puppet fleet mod recently so their navy is mine😁) , eventually some state paradox forget, like Japanese islands staying as my own, etc)
(but my liking is probably because I love as german/soviet/others, watching them bash my lines until 0 manpower, then I often tag the other side and give them with decision cheat 100%mobilisation speed, to see that they still have 14M manpower to spend, with their last stand (everyone fight) policy)
