Goodbye! Helvetic Fokker 100 Last Landing at Bern ✈ Spectacular Mountain View!

- Helvetic Airways says goodbye to its last Fokker 100 HB-JVG. The good old 1993-built Fokker 100 is seen gliding majestically like an eagle towards Bern. The last approach into Bern is crowned with a most spectacular view of the Swiss Alps.

Stunning approach and landing! That's sad to see these nice Fokker 100's leave Helvetic's fleet, I'll definitely miss seeing videos of these interesting jets.
Thank you very much Jesse! It was sheer luck that the good old Fokker 100 came to Bern. The real reason was less funny or bad luck. It replaced a modern Embraer ERJ-190 which had a technical problem. The poor pax had to wait 5-6 hours in the terminal.

Vielen Dank! Ja das ist sehr schade. Es war pures Glück, dass die gute alte Fokker 100 nochmals in Bern vorbeikam. Der wahre Grund war weniger lustig. Der ERJ-190 HB-JVT hatte Anfangs Juni ein technisches Problem. Die armen Passagiere vom 12 Uhr Flug nach Mallorca mussten 5-6 Stunden im Terminal warten. Zwei Ersatzflugzeuge wurden aus Zürich eingeflogen. Die Fokker 100 HB-JVG für den 12-Uhr-Flug und die ERJ-190 HB-JVN für den 17-Uhr-Flug. Die beiden Mallorca-Flüge starteten kurz nacheinander um ca. 17 Uhr. Der letzte Flug war also pünktlich.
OMG! Die Bergkulisse und davor die F100! WAS WILL MAN MEHR!!!!! Like Nummer 142 und viele Grüße - Volker

Mein lieber Schwan, leider die letzte, aber dafür die warscheinlich schönste Landung! Dieses Bergpanorama ist einfach traumhaft. Ich werde dieses Flugzeug sehr vermissen, war sehr charakteristisch mit den Triebwerken am Heck. Tja, es wird leider immer langweiliger..

I flew on this plane, since 2007 to 2015 I was used to fly Helvetic from LSZH to EDDN and return, once or twice a month. I preferred to stay at the end of the plane, next to the engines. Three times APU didn't work and the plane in the cold early morning winter was... frozen !

Great camera angle Matt, great video, i can't believe they are retiring planes with safety/reliability of the fokker 100, i'm old school though. Nice back drop of the alps, looked like a sunny calm day. Have a great day my good friend. btw, save this one for your archives since it's the last, piece of aviation history.
It was sheer luck that the good old Fokker 100 came to Bern. The real reason was less funny. The ERJ-190 HB-JVT had a technical problem on the weekend. The passengers from the 12 o'clock flight to Mallorca had to wait 5-6 hours in the terminal. Poor folks, I really had pity with them. Two replacement aircraft were flown in from Zurich. The Fokker 100 HB-JVG for the 12 o'clock flight and the ERJ-190 HB-JVN for the 17 o'clock flight. Both Mallorca flights took-off at around 17 o'clock. So the latter flight was punctual. With which model are they gonna be replaced ?
@Topfelya. Not a Fokker aircraft. Fokker dissapeared due to inability to compete in a crowded market with the Fokker 50 and this model. Embraer and Bombardier provide real options for 70 to 110 passanger jets.
They bought additional ERJ-190. But Helvetic Airways will renew its ERJ-190 fleet. The airline has signed a contract for a firm order of 12 E190-E2 jets.
