Thanks, just what I needed to see & hear! I'm just getting my '53 Morris out of storage for over 25 yrs. I believe it's a side valve. What Haynes book should I get? Thanks
Wow, I am amazed at your ignition coil. Runbaken Manchester oilcoil. Love that company to bits, and no one talks or gives them any credit. Such a shame that they have been forgotten. I always buy anything that I can get my hands on, with their name on. Did you buy the coil, or you had it on the car. All the best!
Hi I put it on the car as the original correct coil had long gone; a modern one had been fitted and although it did the job fine it got very hot to touch. So I substituted the glass Oilcoil and hot starting was better and it was always cool to the touch. The last thing I wanted was ignition trouble especially when I was making frequent solo night journeys to Snowdonia. They are great coils as well as being nice to look at.
Love this
I have a side valve Morris Minor in North America and it has the export oil bath air filter, water pump and heater.
Luxury!
@@The_Car_Sanctuary I am grateful!
Surely that has been rebuilt with oil pressure of that magnitude. it runs so sweet :-)

You want the factory workshop manual (forget Haynes).
