@@DC-YumpyYotemeal_4026 yeah, that’s a good thought. If he pokes a hole in the plastic and can remember where he lives. I’ll say....she beat the anxiety out of him.
If you run the movie backwards: Chelsea finds a man in the woods. She takes him to her apartment and teaches him social skills through puzzles. She introduces him to Elaine by a dating site.
She didn't just find a man in the woods, though. He was probably dead, and she brought him back to life! At the very least, she saved his life when she removed the tape and plastic from his head.
This broke my heart! So sad! Elaine was right in front of him and he went for the serial killer. He had no bad intention, he was just awkward and perhaps suffering from social anxiety and a bit of agoraphobia. He didn’t deserve that fate!
Thanks Alter for showing that people like Aiden with social anxieties maybe weird (like my husband) but they are HARMLESS. People like Chelsea are the ones to be on alert for and standoffish about.

To be fair, the movie keeps leading the viewer on and giving red flags to Aiden's direction, such as the musical cues, the mannequin with the broken face, or Aiden stealing Chelsea's garment. But I agree with you on the whole. It's kind of a cliché that the socially awkward people are the dangerous ones, so I love the fact that the movie inverted the trope here.
Nay offence but just because we don't see him outright murder people doesn't mean he was harmless? Like I was rooting for him to be killed lmao. The advice of "be alert" of ppl like Chelsea and not Aiden IRL would probably end up badly.

Elaine seemed so sweet that I genuinely felt heartbroken for her character when she thought her chances with Aidan were gone on my rewatch of this short film. Aidan came off as a slightly obsessive but ultimately well-intentioned guy who just wanted to make a genuine connection with someone. Chelsea, however, was little short of a sociopath.
Idk. Aiden was explicitly told that she wasn't looking for a relationship and he still tried to kiss her. He still treated her like some therapy doll. Is she a psychopath? Probably. But he is NOT the "good guy."

I LOVED this short. It made me feel SO uncomfortable, yet at the same time I found myself able to relate to both Aiden & Elaine. I'd love to see a part 2. Aiden wakes up in the hospital, no memory of what happened. National news runs the story & Chelsea realizes she has to " Tie up loose ends " . Elaine puts 2 & 2 together & not only realizes Chelsea did it, but that she has a 2nd chance at love W/ One of the good ones. Chelsea's back story is slowly revealed as she drives to the hospital. Will Chelsea or Elaine get to Aiden first? I'd have Chelsea get there first personally. She sees Aiden in the vacation shirt & sets a trap for Elaine by taking Aiden there & we as fans get to watch how the end plays out & which character/ characters " Die alone " 5 🌟 movie.
Hey, I liked your short apart from the very last scene, in which the sense of dread leaves place to conventional horror tropes. Good job! There is something truly uncomfortable during the chicken soup scene, simple but effective. Kuddos 🤗
Thank You for Premium Content 😁👏🏼🌹 This is one of only a few shorts that satisfies me. Usually you're left wondering about the back story, characters, will there be a follow up to explore further? Not this one, it satisfies all on its own. Brilliant 👏🏼🌹💛
The actor who played Aiden was very very good, very convincing performance and pulled off the hikikomori type. This is one of the better short films on YT.
Really? Just because he died at the end doesn't mean he wasn't creepy and ill minded. Eg: taking that lingerie, only caring about himself(how he interrupted her and only wanted a chance with her).
@@clomyst People with this kind of disorder do only think about themselves because they lack the ability to think of others yet, Empathy comes from interpersonal interaction. You have to know pain, experience suffering, and heal to develop empathy. People with social anxiety never get that experience, they only know themselves, a person they don't understand and in many cases do not like. This is why they need a strong, solid, controlled environment to grow and develop in. People like this need someone to coax them out of their shell. Someone exactly like Elaine in this story, Sadly, man needed a therapist too and did not have one. Therapist would have given him a safe place to process what he was trying to process to the psychotic chick. Then he probably could see and engage with the feelings Elaine was showing. Girl though? she was in a state of psychoses where she could only acknowledge the reality she understood. She lacked critical awareness due to what was probably past trauma. She needed to be in an institution and on meds. Point being though, both can be helped.
He may have seemed loserish, but he called the apartment manager himself and handled the problem instead of handing her the phone. Seems minor, but he totally got points for that.
My head cannon; Aiden survives and while recuperating in hospital Elaine visits him every day until one day she gets tired of him being so aloof about how she feels about him that she finally just leans in and kisses him. Shock slowly melts into understanding as Aiden FINALLY realizes that he wasnt invisible either because SHE had seen him this whole time. They fall in love and do puzzles together forever.
The actor who played Aiden delivered brilliant, convincing, deeply moving portrayal of shy, socially awkward, rather troubled young man. BRILLIANT performance!!! Kudos to Omeleto yet again for YET ANOTHER excellent film!
As someone who’s autistic, I related to Aiden a lot. Social interaction is near impossible for me, everything I do is a faux pas. I was really rooting for him :(

A statement from director Marc Cartwright: "I first got the idea for We Die Alone while on a hike in Los Angeles. The park wasn’t overly crowded, but this was obviously a popular time to visit this particular trail. I studied the other hikers taking in the temporary escape from the city. Sometimes they offered a courtesy smile if their eyes met another person’s, but mostly they ignored each other. I began to think about interpersonal relationships and all of the missed connections that must occur by people not truly acknowledging the opportunities right in front of them. I believe everyone desires love or validation on some level and I enjoy mulling over the challenges in finding successful romantic relationships. For some, finding a partner is effortless, while others find it nearly impossible. I also believe that a person’s ability or inability to find connection is a choice - whether conscious or subconscious. We Die Alone is my way of touching upon the consequences of standing in our own way when attempting to build authentic romantic connections. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock and his manner of discussing reality with a tragic twist, I felt this film would be best told in the dramatic thriller genre. I’m very proud of this movie. My goal was to make a film that not only takes people by surprise, but also leaves them thinking about the ways in which they connect to others."

When you meet someone with issues, every innocent thing you say triggers them. That's why it's difficult to make jokes with strangers these days, you never know where they are coming from...even if you're coming from a place of innocence.
That's why you have to take the time to get to know them before you start talking about having a connection. The things that he thought made them have a connection were not that deep. He had more of a connection with the other lady at work.
So people should worry about triggering others now? I don't give a rat's ass if someone is triggered as a result of what I say. This is the main reason that our freedom of speech is being stomped on. Way too many feelings in today's society. If you're easily triggered stay the hell away from me I don't want to hang around you anyway.

Effing blows my mind how incredible the acting in these short films made by/hosted on ALTER. Aidan's (Baker Chase Powell) performance here is out of this world. Unlimited kudos!!!!
Aiden is very cute, let's start off with that, but the actor is very good and playing out anxiety. As someone who has it diagnosed, it was played out perfectly by him.
This story is sad on many different levels. There is Aiden, obviously socially anxious to the point that it isolates him and furthers the problem. His coworker is a little more normal on the surface but if you read into it, she's older and still alone. Can you imagine what is reserving her from asking Aiden out? She must feel like a cougar and all the bad connotations in addition to being at that dead end job... I feel sad for her and wish she could just reach out and find a small gem of happiness not only for herself but for Aiden too. Lastly the murderer has been hurt and doesn't believe in love anymore. It paints the perfect picture of how everyone is alone because of what is mostly self-reservation. We are social creatures, to the point that in our primitive environment being outcast from our social circle meant a literal death sentence. It is sad to realize how easy it is to make connections, we are literally wired to need it, yet how our own inhibitions prevent us form reaching out. We are all scared of what society might think of us, that we rather face the deadly coldness of seclusion. Truly a sad reality for some. For those that do reach out and find a social circle, they are truly lucky even if they often take it for granted. I find a little bit of myself in each of the three main characters. I was first Aiden, socially anxious. For a time I was Chalsea, hurt and resigned to staying a lone wolf (minus the whole murdering part of course). For a time, I feared I would become Aiden's co-worker, but I have found connections and now have a more positive outlook in life.
@Kannetha Martin I swear I was trying to put my finger on who he reminds me of and you nailed it lol I had the character in my head I just couldn’t remember from what show
I have Social Anxiety Disorder and this is a very realistic portrayal of the condition (minus being murdered). It makes you pass up so many opportunities in life for fear; that in itself makes it a horror story.
it's a sad love story. cheers for Elaine, the way she stares at Aiden is just.... deep. loving someone secretly, tries to give many signs but he doesn't realize at all. if i were her, i would've said 'it's me, the one loving you, the only one caring of you. are u still looking for another one??"

@@adjjddjjdcdbdjdjdjsjd2722 a normal person wouldn't murder a guy because he tried to kiss them. she obviously has some problems revolving her past experiences and it caused her to relaspe. no ordinary person is confident to smash a telephone in somebody's skull, tie their hands, and try to bury them. she had done this before, and she had no remorse.
.... I don’t think so his hands and legs are tied up and he has a plastic bag on his head that’s taped around his neck... and it literally ends with “we die alone”
True, when she hit him with the phone first that was completely justified as it was self defense. But when he started crawling away and she straddled him and hit him in the head multiple times with the whole phone and then put a plastic bag on his head and tried to bash his head in with.a rock, first degree aggravated attempted murder.

I LOVED this short. It made me feel SO uncomfortable, yet at the same time I found myself able to relate to both Aiden & Elaine. I'd love to see a part 2.

He pulled her arm, and she could have been r*ped. Chelsea took pre-emptive measures and helped prevent even more tragedy later on, by killing the killer, incel, and r*pist first. She is a feminist hero.
@@VOLightPortal Mmm I think youre misunderstanding the femenism views. She just attacked him and took to the extreme the situation. Yes, he could have raped her, but the character intentions werent indicating that. So she isnt some feminist hero
@@VOLightPortal MURDER isn't self defense you actual psychopath. I don't THINK he was trying to attack her, but even if he was she could have escaped and gotten him arrested instead.
@@sillykola50Yeah. She´s a crazy b*tch. She killed him, and he was inocent
How can you understand a f**king murder0us unstable psycho? Are you one of those wahmen who write letters to serial k*llers in prison and ask them out or outright marry them?
This is what you call cinema, drama, suspense, thriller, comedy and horror all in one, there's nothing not to like about, just awesome keep up the good work
Thank you!
Wow the actor that played Aiden really portrayed his part so well I felt like giving him a hug.
شما ایرانی هستی؟
Aiden kinda looks like an awkward Justin Bieber and Jared Leto. Kinda cute tho
Exactly!!!!
@Stacey Pack rude
He reminds me of Mathew Grey-Gubler, the guy that plays Agent Reed on Criminal Minds.
@@LaydiNite hey i thought so too 😂
He reminds me of JB too
When you realize you're the Aiden in your life and that's why you're always single.
Fantastic performance.
You just gotta find your Elaine :)
I was rooting for Aidan, poor dude just wanted to get over his crippling social anxiety.
They really nailed it casting this guy. I have a feeling we will be seeing him more often
He’s such an amazing actor, his character was just so sincere in spite of his painful anxiety. That kind of vulnerability steals my heart....
Moral of the story: We die Alone.
don't we all someday
Elisefied Yeah You have a point.
Okay.
Nejk gamessk yeah.
Vasanthi Yeah. But i live alone. As for many others out there alone. I’m talking specifically to those who live alone.
anyone else binge-watching Alter movies at midnight alone because you need to stay up to study for an exam the next day? ... no? okay, it's just me.
Wait no that's literally me rn. I have school tomorrow
You are not alone
Yep, doing it right now
Me🥲🤚
The self aggrandizing monologue in the finale really made my stomach turn
i cringed for that woman when the girl asked her if she was Aidan's mother.....ouch (yes that's what I took away from all this)
a lot of us did. that was a cruel "casual" remark.
I'm almost 5 years older than my husband. When we first got married kids would come over and ask if my son could come out and play. Rediculous. He still teases me about it. We been married now 46 years.
You guys need so much more popularity like the quality is insane
thank you!
Thank you!!
Thank you!! Jk I didn’t work their
Boy, what a fine, damn good actor that boy is! Holy crap, I hope to see more of him! That was some sick acting right there!
hey thank you, I really appreciate that
@@BakerPowell omgggggg 🔥🔥🔥 the actor himself. U were AMAZING!!!
I don’t know why but am I the only one who thinks if alter started making actual movies they would be so good!💕
Keep up the good work 💪
ALTER doesn't make movies, they distribute them. And the films they showcase ARE actual movies.
This is an actual movie. A short one.
I WANT PART 2!!! AIDEN MUST LIVE!!! PLUS, FIND OUT HOW HIS CO-WORKER LOVES HIM!!!
it’s funny cause the music when he’s freaking out in front of the mirror isn’t giving me ‘he’s crazy’ vibes it just makes me more empathetic to his anxiety. Perspective is funny I’m not sure if it was intentional or having depression and trauma changed the scene for me
Now, i wish that Aiden wakes up and he will be with the colleague girl -,-
This is amazing! I'd love this to be a feature. Aiden's character drew me in immediately. The actor fully encapsulated what I'd expect from a person who behaves like & lives a life such as this. Brilliant work
Such a bad taste Aiden! I mean every day how could some one so insanely over look a babe like Elaine??
Social anxiety, if i was 2 years younger i would be just like him, just minus the kissing and talking, even i knew you cant just kiss someone
Social anxiety. Sometimes even a person with that can't see that the ones loving them is just right in front of them. Well, we all know that fate strikes at the most unexpected. Aiden was starting to open up to Chelsea when her insecurities kicks in and she kills him
She’s also old enough to be his mom so..
What's up He-Man
🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵🐵
Oh my God! Talk about a surprise ending. This was so well done and acted, directed as well as filmed. I mean, I know there's a lot to going into any kind of a film / movie, all positions make this film work. Everyone here did such a phenomenal job. Keep this up!
Thank you! 🙏🏻 so glad you enjoyed
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
This actor is really perfect in his role
Thank you for watching!
I love how this doesn't touch on him struggling with rejection but rather how he is coping with his social anxiety
He is even anxious in front of the mannequin.
Severe anxiety disorder does that to a person. It's hard for them to even THINK about socializing.
@@autumnemerald1019 This is more like social anxiety disorder this is why he created this big presentation to meet that girl.
@@artszy8184
Yeah, that's what I was saying. Social anxiety really CAN be THAT extreme.
@@autumnemerald1019 in comparison with other anxiety disorders, panic disorder is the severe one.
@@artszy8184
Trust me, I have GAD and I'm studying to become a psychologist. I definitely know how extreme just anxiety disorders can be.
How utterly cruel life is.....yes, we all die alone.
There are rare exceptions when couples died in hospital holding hands. More like 1 of 1 000 000 chance to get that.
Really incredible actor! I’d love to see more of him.
I felt a little disturbed from some of his actions like the box of photos, the mannequin, and stealing her shirt- but I also had sympathy for him- character obviously had incredibly bad anxiety issues- he didn’t deserve the ending he got, Elaine didn’t deserve to go unnoticed-
incredible film
The guy who played Aiden was just incredible. Imagine acting stressed or pshycotic. This short movie was really good😊
