My Quaker parrot changed a phrase that I taught her. I taught her "wanna come out" and Sky changed it to "can I come out" no one else taught her that. So they really do learn and change to context. And she senses when I'm gonna laugh and she laughed before I do. She also senses when I'm gonna go to bed....she starts saying night night goodnight...and I go to sleep all different hours...not on a schedule.
My Quaker is about 8 and although she doesn’t talk much she does sense things like me laughing and definitely her bed time schedule. She goes to bed at 7pm even when the time changes to DST

Thank Zoe & Pluto. I Live the relationship you two have...so beautiful. I'm Markona Love and am a Writer & Columnist for Groundcover Newspapaer. She was Amazing, she saved my Life( over & over), I treated her with great the greatest of respect. We had so much fun and Love. She only flew free once in Phoenix .. it was so hard for me to not let her fly in Washington State(eagles & hawks). Then in Colorado we got to place called 'Open Spaces'...beautiful open fields and rolling hills with walking trails, Perfect. I camped out there and let her learn how to safely fly while walking with me. Long story short by time we got to my home time Ann Arbor, Michigan she had been flying every where and anywhere...inside and out. We were a spectacle. Just have to tell you... About 7 years ago I decided I wanted to get a little parrot. I watched countless videos on TH-cam, because I wanted to get the right breed for me. I came across your Pluto's video's. After watching his videos, there was no doubt what kind of parrot I was looking for. I found my Zoey and he has been the best little guy. Zoey and I would watch Pluto's videos together. Pluto was our rock star! At 7 years old his vocabulary is almost countless. I just want to thank you and Pluto for sharing his videos. I might not have the boy (I think he's a boy) I have, if it wasn't for Pluto! Thank you

Hi Pluto & Mom!! I'm sitting here at the hospital with my Uncle and found your video! I'm enjoying Every minute and am about to start watching more of your videos. I haven't been able to get home today to see my babies and I'm having severe withdrawals! One yr ago I adopted a green Quaker pair! My Jade is 9 and Coco is 3 and when I got them, they were terrified biters! They still bite some, but not like they did a yr ago. It's taken a lot of bandaids and witch hazel and vitamin d ointment, and patience, but we're getting there! They both require a lot of attention and they both want it at the same time.....NOW!! Omgosh, I could talk here for hours, Lol. I'm missing them terribly. I wish you and I could talk in person, lol. This is my 1st set of quaker parrots and sometimes its really difficult for me to tune my ear to their voices. I feel so bad because no matter how many times they say it, I just don't get it! I have a clip of them saying this one thing that they say and for the life of me I cannot understand what it is that they are saying and it's driving me madd! Wow! He doesn't just go potty where and when he feels like it? That's great. He has a special place to do that? That's a great thing for a bird in the house.
My Kiwi does the same, something happens or the dog barks he'll say "what happened " or my fav "wtf" yes he swears lol or "omg" or I'm trying to get the dog of the bed he'll say "get of the bed" or when he's getting argumentative he'll say "don't be naughty" or when I'm going to work i always say be good he'll say it when I'm almost walking out the door, they know, they are intelligent little birds!❤
My quaker, Quincy usually doesnt watch videos and he was totally fixated . You right they do talk in context. ... one time not long after i got him ... he bit me and i yelped.... then i heard "Sorry" ... i nearly fell over.
My GCC picked up on "come here" without me even trying to teach him. He ONLY says "come here" when I am either in a different room or when I'm on the other side of the room and he wants to be with me. He's never said "come here" in any other context. I think he learned it because I would notice him bobbing his head when he'd be on his perch like he wanted to come to me, so I'd tell him to come here. One day I was in another room doing something and he started calling for me, and then started saying "come here".
Hi!! I love watching Pluto, he is absolutely awesome. I was just wondering, if you will be making any new videos with Pluto. I really just love, the way you are with him, and interact with him. You can tell, he just loves you. So cool!!
I really need to but I’ve been so slack. He’s rather grumpy over summer though as his hormones run crazy so when it cools down I’ll make sure to add a new video. :)
I have two Quaker parrots Mango is blue and Casper is green. Lots of fun, lots of noise and lots of mess. Mango is flat out all the time and Casper is lazy and sweet. Mango talks over 50 words and can whistle..Casper just can't be bothered but he can. Fantastic little birds, my best friends ☺
I sure enjoyed your comments about Pluto speaking in context and the way you equated it with speaking to a 2-year old. I have a 27 year old Goffin's cockatoo named Peaches who has always said, "Bye-bye" in context. I learned early on that your bird becomes whatever you want it to be or whatever you can imagine it to be (like our lives). Nicole Dickerson has some Quakers that seem to answer her in context; she has a special relationship with her birds (as you do).
Thanks Todd. I would never have really believed it possible from such a small creature before experiencing it myself. I love what you said about them becoming what we imagine them to be because I can totally see that. I’ll be sure to look up Nicole. Tfs
Hi what a very cute video of your bird.i have a yellow nape Amazon parrot he is 26 years young.i just love your channel I just scribered to your channel.

Hiiiii I’m pretty happy I just found your post 😁thanks so much for posting.. We own a blue quacker and have done for about a year now.. We purchased Jellybean also from a pet shop .. We are still very much learning about each other and that goes both ways .. The love and laughter she has bought into our home is precious.. Also it’s a guess on gender.. Jellybean is yet to talk fingers crossed she will very soon ☺️subbing to you now and I look forward into watching more of your posts your relationship with each other is simply inspirational ...thanks again and take care
Isn’t it amazing how much they can make us laugh at their funny antics? We would never have believed it u til owning our own. Keep up with the fun and make talking exciting and I bet she’ll be saying something you can understand in no time. xo
Again me 🙂 we just adopt a quaker my daugther and me. Just a sweet and intelligent little boy. He is going on 4 months. He begin to talk. I am waiting for more video with little Pluto and you teach us how to take care and learn words and songs. The name of are quaker is Pako Romeo 😀

@@khatske the problem is...he stopped talking when he is filmed. My ocha always bite my android hp...everytime I ask him to talk....but when thete is no hp...he talks
@@humashahida920 they have looped cassettes called talk tapes that play forward and backwards for birds.....might have disk now....but I always liked cassettes. Also try to spend couple hours with your Quaker giving treats like grape and cherry tomatoes. Give them a little spaghetti.....stuff like that....fruits are okay too.
I live with a cherry head conure who’s been with me since 1988. I bought him open banded in a feed store. Perhaps the reason he is so bonded to you is that they are one of a very few bird species that form nesting colonies with multiple pairs in a colony. I agree if you use words snd short phrases during certain situations they will learn to do the same. My birds are also potty trained but of course it’s up to the human to notice when they show signs they have to go.
Pluto is so smart and quite an entertainer! Your a wonderful bird Mom, and teacher! Approximately how old was he when he started talking words you could understand?
I can say that I had never being a person that like birds, but after my wife bougt us two conures 10 mounts ago...I have change my mind!!!My little Conure Kimmi that sadly died four weeks ago and I miss her every day...My wife came to me at my work the day after with a little Quaker baby two mounts old.....A real sweatheart that come with me to work allmost every day now....I know It will take time to get her tame.....but she helps me to go forwads and not thinking so much on Kimmi.......Kimmi was and is my little pet-bird that I will never forget!!!!!! I have learning to love my Quaker-baby Micky who is harasting by our thre conures now!!!!!!
Hi I’m In NY and have a Quaker too his name is Pappi. His cholesterol and Triglycerides very high. He can’t have any seeds but eats Zupreem pellets. Doctor said many Quakers have high cholestrol. Have you had his checked? He definitely looks like a boy. So cute reminds me of my Pappi.
We haven’t had any checks but I learned about problems with Quaker’s early on from a forum I used to be a member of and so Pluto has only ever had seeds as a treat. He has been on a pallet, fruit and veg diet since we got him.
Nicely done!! I love the video. Though talking birds respond better with females as I have heard and read. They will be more responsive with soft female voices. Good job!! 20 stars!!
Hi there! I am SO excited as I am getting my blue Quaker tomorrow - he/she is also about 4 months old from a pet store. I just LOVED watching your video as its given me such inspiration to interact with him as much as possible to get the best out of him as well. Please give me any tips on his first or couple days in his new home as I really want to do this right! Also he has been hand reared so I assume training will be slightly easier than a rescue. I look forward to hearing from you xxx
Pluto is so silly! I own a green cheek conure right now, but a guy my father works with found one and they MAY give it away. I already did research on them months ago before deciding on my green cheek but I'm willing to be bitten.
Besides learning to talk in context, he can learn phrases like "Go home" and "come here" and not repeat them, but do what they mean. My quacker , when told to go home, goes into the cage and closes the door by himself. When told come here, he comes out of the cage and flies to me.

@plutoquaker that they do nd they use it just like us too, you do something nd this little voice in the back ground "wtf" lol
its so funny 😁
Pluto's so cute!...
How did he get his name?...
I don’t remember actually!
I have one like Pluto. So much fun!
His counting is hilarious! He has a few of them down perfect:)
Quaker Parrots R Such Cute Chubby Cheek Parrots & Smart & Intelligent too to pick so many Words👌❤️❤️Just AWESOME❤️
My quaker Pidge (short for Pigeon) has just watched this video intently. Hopefully he'll pick up some hints.
Yo tengo una como Pluto, se llama Lola y dice Te Quiero! Muchas gracias por tu video, son un amor aunque a veces chillan y no sabes lo que quieren🙏😘
Love Quakers, very smart and social. .

Keep up with the fun and make talking exciting and I bet she’ll be saying something you can understand in no time. xo
Our Quaker Parrot was very sweet, same color always cuddly and always gave kisses. ❤
I am amazed that Pluto is potty trained!

My Quaker parrot is so angry with me when I watch your videos 😆 🤣
I have a 25 year old Quaker Parrot had her sexed years ago her name is Kiwi....hand raised myself from a chick....very talkative. Kiwi makes up sentences, and knows Yankee Doodle.
Jessica Simonson
Hey why don't you do a video of your Quaker parrot and show him what he does.
Jessica Simonson hi can you please give me any advise I have Quaker he is 3 months old now I have him in only 2 weeks now he don’t react when I call him how I can teach him
@@khatske the problem is...he stopped talking when he is filmed. My ocha always bite my android hp...everytime I ask him to talk....but when thete is no hp...he talks
I named my moms kiwi too lol mines was named already neko
@@humashahida920 they have looped cassettes called talk tapes that play forward and backwards for birds.....might have disk now....but I always liked cassettes. Also try to spend couple hours with your Quaker giving treats like grape and cherry tomatoes. Give them a little spaghetti.....stuff like that....fruits are okay too.
Hes over 14?? he looks much younger than my 2 year old Quaker
Nice accent.
Where are you from?...
Australia!
great video thank you! how did you potty train him ?
Is beautiful The bird
Pluto is so smart and quite an entertainer! Your a wonderful bird Mom, and teacher! Approximately how old was he when he started talking words you could understand?
He was already saying hello by the time we picked him up at 12 weeks ☺️
I just got one just like Pluto. Hes a few months old. I've named him Link. Hes cuddly but also very destructive. Lil bugger gets into everything.
They are little monsters I tell ya!! 😉😂
Pluto, yay,, what a good boy!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Buzz watches Pluto all the time and sings along with him.
Hi I’m
In NY and have a Quaker too his name is Pappi.
His cheats are awsome.....your vary lucky to have such a cool bird
You're such a cutie pie!
SO awesome!! ♥
Pluto is such a cutie pie❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍
So cute 😍
What a cute birb
Nice to see you two! I love Pluto!!
Thx so much for telling me this advice!! It's really helpful for me cause I'm getting a Quaker parrot in 2 days, thank you! ❤
My pleasure. Congratulations. Fun times ahead. 😍
plutoquaker thank you 💜
iceskater girl use talk tapes they are looped very good for teaching Quakers to learn to talk
Nicely done!! I love the video. Though talking birds respond better with females as I have heard and read. They will be more responsive with soft female voices. Good job!! 20 stars!!
I didn’t know that. I’ve found with Pluto it’s all about the excitement levels 😂
He reminds me of my Quaker.
My quaker Eva is not cuddly either doesnt stop 😍 love her so much. She says ouch when she bites
I am convinced my male green cheek conure uses his speech in context as well. Birds are so smart.
Excellent 👍
My Harleybird kept trying to nibble your fingers through the screen, and looked behind the tablet to see where they went....lol.
That is the most precious damn thing ever!
Believe they live around 25+ years depending on many factors
Pluto is so silly! I own a green cheek conure right now, but a guy my father works with found one and they MAY give it away. I already did research on them months ago before deciding on my green cheek but I'm willing to be bitten.
Besides learning to talk in context, he can learn phrases like "Go home" and "come here" and not repeat them, but do what they mean.
My quacker , when told to go home, goes into the cage and closes the door by himself.
When told come here, he comes out of the cage and flies to me.
Yes so true. Pluto is the same. He knows A LOT more than he can say. :) thru are really so clever
@@plutoquaker - bedtime is funny around here. He lingers at his door and looks forlornly at me, until I say, very seriously, “It’s time.”
hes so adorable
Evening preening time from Stella. She alights on my head and chews on my hair roots.
Pluto parrot birbs is so adorable 😃
Beautiful
How much time you spend with him a day?
Sweet bird.
Jolly Balls are awesome. Horses and dogs like them as well
My Stanley, a Quaker, isn't super cuddly either, but I love him to death.
I have a Quaker parrot too. I want him to talk more.
I found excitement worked really well with Pluto picking up words
Sooo bezaubernd der Kleine Schatz 🦜💖💖💖💖💖
