In my city they are ~$400 for a regular green, my pallid green Quaker was ~$450, but blue ones are like $600 and $700 and up for more rare color mutations lol.

Do not purchase birds, or any other live animal, from the pet store. Please adopt from a rescue or shelter if you can, and remember that birds require a lot of time! It's a big commitment and that's why a lot of birds end up in rescues in the first place.

The problem with adopting is the way most rescues go about the adoption process. I understand they need to be sure your a good fit but they make me feel uncomfortable with some of the bullshit.

In some places there’s barely adoption so pet store is the only option. Where I live you can adopt thousands of cats and dogs, but adoption for rabbits, small mammals, fish and birds is incredibly limited. Of course, if you can adopt, you should do that instead of the pet store
