- I shopped at Kroger this week and stocked up on flour, as well as the other sales. I also went to Aldi to restock some low prices staples for my stockpile. This is how I feed our large family of 6, using a monthly grocery budget of $500! #stockpile #grocerybudget #groceryhaul

Your children are so sweet…what a blessing! On a side note, it would be great if you could share a video of you and your mom baking cookies! Also, since you freeze items like cookies for your children, I have this time saving idea: When I get a good deal on bread or I don’t want to waste it, I make French toast. I freeze the slices on a cookie tray and then I put the frozen slices into the same bread bag. It freezes wonderfully and you can cut them into French toast sticks for the kids too.
Great idea on the bread! As for cookies, we were busy all weekend baking and I didn't have time to get out the camera. Maybe next time!

Great deal on the flour. I need to take care of my bread flour and the rest of my 5 gallon buckets because I sent my husband down with sugar to store and never checked. Thanks for the reminder. Sounds like you have fun spring break plans. 😊
I definitely thought of you when I found the flour deal! I need to check all my buckets again too. It does help me store more but can be tricky to keep track of at times. Do you have any good tips for that? I just try to go through all the buckeys once or twice a year.

Unfortunately, I'm only shopping for 2! with occasional stock ups to take to my 7 grandchildren. I have her stock of butter in my fridge now. I was wondering if your family will use all of the apples you purchased fresh? Are they just for eating, or will you use them in other ways?
Thank you! Yes, we eat a lot of apples fresh for fruit at dinner or snacks. I did just get a food dehydrator so am eager to try dehydrating apples and see how my kids like them that way!

I have gardened some in the past and grown tomatoes, peppers, green beans, cucumbers and rhubarb. We'll see what I get planted this year - besides rhubarb, that is!

For this sale, you simply have to buy 3 (or more) sale items, and the $2 will come off instantly at the register, making the price $1.99. No coupons needed. So you could buy 1 bag of flour and 2 pounds of butter and will get $2 off each item. Or you could buy 3 bags of flour and get $2 off each. Does that help?
