I was so shocked to see my Kroger flyer and that butter price $2.29 was amazing.

My Kroger store here in Wisconsin has the butter for $2.29 when you by 3 or more. I had a coupon for $0.70 off one package that expires tomorrow. I bought 3 packages on Wednesday to add to my stockpile and then I found the coupon - went back today and just bought 9 more as they had plenty available. Now I have enough to keep me supplied until November - I am at 31-1/2 pounds unsalted, 2 pounds salted and 1-1/2 pounds plant based in my freezer. I told my husband that I can go thru a pound easily when I am baking.

I was surprised and thrilled with the prices too! Just another reason it is important to shop the sales at the "expensive" stores because sales often beat the every day low prices of the "cheap" stores. A blessed Easter to you and your family as well! ✝️

I got pineapples, butter, chips, and snuggles fabric softener. Butter was definitely the best deal so far this year! I stocked up on plenty as well.

I track the home canned food items we use. I have a list inside a kitchen cabinet and keep tallies on items and sizes. This helps me plan how much I need to can when the item is in season.
Such a smart idea! Now that I have tracked butter, I am moving on to tracking flour and sugar this year. I have a general estimate but would like a more accurate number of pounds.

I also got a deal on butter this month at ALDIs. 2.66 per lb limit 6, sale was on a week so my husband & me went in almost every day to get 6 lbs. I now have 40 lbs of butter in my freezer
We also got a sale on our favorite hotdogs @ 98 cent per pack we have 30 packs and with using my food savor they will last a long time in my freezer

I love that you tallied the butter. I totally need to do it. I have a count on flour and sugar but I have never tallied butter. I need to do better this year because I certainly could store a years worth if I knew what I used. Happy Easter to you and your family.

I buy a 2lb block of Amish butter when i shop and pay $11.50 for it. I don't buy a lot of butter, a 2lb block last me awhile since i don't bake and we eat very little bread.

Great haul! My stock up was chicken tenders…Sanderson Farms for $1.99 a pound. We don’t really see that price anymore, so I bought some for the freezer. I am not a baker…I maybe go through 3-4 pounds a year…so I am in awe of your stash! Happy Easter!
That is a fabulous price on chicken tenders! Any time any meat goes on sale under $2 a pound - especially chicken - is the perfect time to stock up! I am so glad you did! 👏
Butter in Washington state at Walmart is $3.98 (that is non sale price, just regular price). Safeway does have butter on sale this week for $3.99 (non sale price is $4.49 for Lucerne brand, cheapest price). Walmart & Safeway are the only grocery stores in our town. That was a great score for you & terrific low price for the butter you purchased. Happy Easter!
Here in NW Washington, butter at the Fred Meyer (Kroger) is $2.39 a pound, no limit! I snagged several!

Here in NW Washington state, Kroger butter was $2.39, no limit! Cheapest I have seen it in a couple years (or more!!). I added to my "stash" for sure! Pineapples here were on sale for $1.47 which is incredible for us.

I shopped at a Kroger owned store yesterday. I got the butter for $2off per pound when you buy 3…making each pound $2.19…🤭🤭🤭 I bought 12 🤭🤭🤭
Also stumbled upon a manager’s special 18 count egg deal, so good that I bought 6. Their sell by date is MAY 2nd !!! Finally, there was a wonderful deal on Eight O’Clock coffee, plus I had a coupon 😱. Overall, I saved 27% on my total grocery order.

Considering last year we stocked up for $1.99 and $2.49 at Christmas, I was pleased that we got down to $2.29 this Easter! Have fun stocking up - and baking! 🥣 As for an update, we'll see what I can do over Spring Break! 😁
What a cutie! My Aldi’s sale price is still $3.29. I got two on sale at Fareway for $2.88, the cheapest I’ve seen all month. I’ve been grabbing one every time I go to Hy-Vee for $2.98 with my Perks card. Pretty jealous of your sales lol!! But I’m stocked back up after running out right after the holidays! The cheapest I've seen for butter is 3.69 on sale. For reference I live in Oregon, a high cost of living area.

Are you paying high taxes on your food? Property? My daughter might be relocating there from the Central California Coast. Gas, insurance and daily costs of living for a family of four kids, plus $2700 month rent 3/2 bath, between average to cheap anywhere in this county, and kids school and supplies, includes clothing and shoes, just way too much. Her hubby pays his construction HVAC union $200 month for high paying jobs. He is a commercial building specialist. He can make $60,000-$100,000 year. Usually out of work around Christmas season as that is the nature of the business. They just cannot afford to live in this state anymore. Plans are he is going to stay in California to pick up jobs, work. Since I am in a barely affordable senior rental, these costs do not affect me too much unless I go to the store for groceries, basic shoes and clothing, household supplies. So, she and the grandkids do plan to visit me. My daughter even says gas is $1 gallon cheaper traditionally in Oregon. This is what she came up with in her research. Think she wants to return from long ago living there. The school systems much better. If any different, then please advise.
@jennyeagan1840 We do not have sales tax. However we do have income tax and property tax. We are a high cost of living area, but not as bad as California. Gas right now is 4.10/ gallon.
I live in Alaska , just watched you them ran to Fred meyers / Kroger, grabbed the butter , but also some of the other deals , $2.99 on the butter . Normally it’s $5 so yay thank you for sharing

Hi!! Northern Indiana here too 😊. Aldi butter is $3.29. Meijer is $3.49 with a .50 cent mperk and Kroger butter is $2.29, so they're the cheapest around me right now. I'm going this morning to Kroger to stock up. I also wanted to let you know when I was in Aldi yesterday their semi sweet chocolate chips (12 oz.) and dark chocolate chips (10 oz.) are $1.59 a bag. I purchased 2 of each for my stockpile. Have a blessed day!

Butter at my Walmart here in Georgia is $3.98. You got a really good deal at Krogers!

We keep all but one or two shelves of the upright freezer stocked up when sales are good. Started buying unsalted due to so much salt in food. The salt in most chips is enough to raise blood pressure. Looking for lightly salted. Unsalted are a little weird, but taste good dioped in ranch dressing which probably has too much salt too.
I have alternated between salted and unsalted butter. I never add salt when baking - and very rarely do when cooking - so tend to buy salted butter more often. But butter is butter to me. I can't taste much of a difference! 🤷♀️
I pressure canned 30+ pints of butter to have for years. Usually have 6 months butter in freezer, all purchases on great sale.

I got butter today ar Aldi for $2.69 a lb in NC brought 12 lbs was a limit of 6 so 6 for me and hubby brought 6lbs.
So smart to have your husband buy butter too! I have been known to ask my husband to run into Aldi for butter many times on his way home from work! 😁

Great tip on tracking the butter 💯 going to do that going forward! I always have at least 60Lbs between my freezers & fridge at any one time esp now when cattle are the only causation of “climate” issues apparently 😏😉

The cheapest here in Texas by me is at Costco or Sams for $3.23 a box, but it is a pack of 4. The store brand price is $4.59 or more. I guess they don't believe in Easter sales here.😢

I bought 20 pounds of butter at my iga store that was was marked down to 1.99. That's cheaper than margarine sticks in my area. This was unsalted but I can always add salt

How do you freeze your butter and other products? Do you stock up on chips? Storage for chips?
Good questions! I simply store my butter in the boxes in my freezer in big stacks. 😂 When I need it, I move it straight to the fridge and it thaws overnight. I have never had any issues this way. As for chips, yes! Chocolate chips I store in an airtight bin in my pantry. Sometimes I keep a couple bags in the freezer but I don't have much extra room so the pantry tens to be my go to for that. Does that help?

Good question! We bake a lot of cookies, but these homemade gooey brownies are a defintely a family favorite. In fact, Nathan just took them to school yesterday as a birthday treat. Butter in Alberta Canada is $5.50 a pound at Costco. It's the cheapest. Most places it's $7-9 a pound.

Do you freeze the butter?
I do! I place the boxes, just like this, in thr freezer, all stacked up. When I need butter, I move it straight to the fridge from the freezer and it thaws overnight. Works perfectly every time and saves me a lot of money!

Sad.. it's people like you that are young and get out and grab up more than you need. Then us elderly or disabled are left to go all the way to the store to Aldo get some good deals because we live paycheck and paycheck and some of us raising grandchildren. We get there just to find everything out of stock. I went to two Krogers. Both all out because of hoarders. The last Kroger there were three of us elder and disabled standing there at the bitter section hoping to just get "two".... just to see if its all gone. Shame on greedy people.
Did you watch to the end of the video where I explained why I was buying so much butter? If you watch any of my other videos, you will see that I never clear shelves or hoard. When I bought my butter, the shelves were absolutely full...and I only ever buy what our family can and does use on a regular basis. I am sorry that you didn't get any this time, but the good news is that the butter sale will be continuing for another week, so there is time for you to go back, if you so choose.
