Thank you and your father for this video. Im 49 Phoenix native and had a kidney transplant in 2019 and he truly has given me hope. This is the first video I've seen from you and you've done a really great job. Keep it up. Here's to your father and 2021
So thrilled to see this video! I am the solo woman that ran into you guys at the Papago wall. Your family's story touched me deeply and your dad is a huge inspiration. Meeting you guys was the biggest highlight of my trip. Maybe we'll cross paths out there somewhere again someday!
There's nothing like sharing special times with family. Loved your video, so thankyou. I've hiked the Canyon many times since 1994, my last time 2012 ! I'm now an oldtimer Englishman from Shropshire. I'm now 77, so enjoy your hikes just like I used to do. Grand Canyon is my very favourite place in the world.
My father an Mother married in 1963 and toured the usa for thier honeymoon. They had a wedding album with pictures of the Grand Canyon nd Escalante ofcoarse. Both deceased now but seeing your video has made me smile.Your Father is a real trooper for doing this,I take metforum myself and have other disability stuff going on as well.Im now last of the mohicans of my tribe as it were but lots of great memories.thanks for sharing this.
Better late than never as they say!, Great video it's got everything that's good about the human race, Very emotional tbh,I obviously don't know your dad but felt so proud of him at the end,as has been said he is a total inspiration to all and with a smile on his face, Thanks for sharing, love to you all dude.
Beautiful vid. Just did this exact route. Dropped in at Lipan in 50 mph winds. Came out at Grandview in snow. Your dad is a trooper! The ascent out of there is no joke.
Thanks for sharing. Super impressed with your dad taking this on. My daughter has type 1 diabetes and I can appreciate the challenges he would have faced. Way to go!
i didn’t get to go down during my trip cross country when we stopped at the grand canyon, but the views were breathtaking and ive always regretting not getting to go down- definitely planning a future trip now- but i woke up from a dream the gc and just had to take a look at all the views that i got to see and didn’t. thanks for the awesome video!
I’m so glad Cory got to join you for this! I’m sure he absolutely loved every second of this💛 I love your guys’ videos and I’m always praying for you guys
I am sorry your dad has to fight with his health, but so happy he was able to share an amazing experience with his son and daughter-in-law. What an amazing story and adventure. Thank you for taking your viewers with you.
Dude what a great video and channel. I found you thanks to Jerry Arizona. Your story telling is so on point, please keep making more hiking videos and soon with your style of shooting and editing you will surpass Dixie and Darwin.
Beautiful, inspirational, touching. Hats of to you guys for making memories in a situation where most will make excuses! I love the fact your channel is about the experience and not the gear, yes the gear makes it possible, but that’s not what it’s all about.
What a beautiful hike! Curious, what month did y'all do this hike and how was the weather in the canyon compared to the snow at top? Thanks for sharing!
Great footage in this inspiring video! My son and I have permits to hike this same itinerary in December, but he wasn't super excited about it until we found and watched your video. Can you tell me what the overnight temperatures were on your trip?
Thanks! I’ve done a lot of backpacking in December/January in the Grand Canyon. It’s always colder at the rim than at the bottom. Expect snow and ice at the rim and about 30 degree temps at night in the bottom. I have had trips where I’ve had almost 0 degree nights, but that’s uncommon.
I've yet to do the Escalante route but you make it look beautiful, Katelyn and Jordan. I'll probably add it to my list for when I get back this fall. I'm a fellow Scamper so I look forward to following along on your journeys.
