I would always watch this before going to a game ( unless it was an away game obviously) !! I miss saint and greavsie, 10 times better than the crap you get today ( much like the football itself).
Michael Watson before he was almost killed in the ring... Hazel Irvine before she became the BBC snooker stalwart... Martin Tyler before he left ITV for Sky... Liverpool winning league titles!!! This seems like a full lifetime ago, but I guess 26 years is kinda like that!
Real shame both had bad endings to life as great entertainers.. St John had cancer for many years and Greavsie couldn't spk for the last 2/3 years after a stroke. But we that them for the great memories and Rip boys.
One of the best hat-ticks I've ever seen in my life. Rosenthal was a real booster buy. Forget all these transfer windows. Put it back to how it used to be.
As much as Michael Watson was a tremendous fighter(and a very decent& down to earth fella)they obviously didn't do enough research on Mike"the Body snatcher"McCallum.. He wasn't the champ for nothing and he really wasn't given the credit he deserved..But M W put up a gallant effort that night, but some things just weren't meant to be for some reason! And even though watching this show is like examining a"Time capsule".It's still better than all of the phony, stage managed crap we see now!
City vs QPR 😂 how times change. Loved the camera angles in the Liverpool game though. Really gives the sense of being there. Football is so sterile now.
Rest in peace Saint, Rest in peace Greavsie.

Here Here I agree mate.
Jimmy's jokes come as thick and fast as his goals. Loved watching him and the Saint on Saturdays.

rosenthal will always be remembered, and remembered fondly, for that miss at Villa Park
Yes true but he played a big part with his goals in the league triumph 👌👌
In the days before football programmes were not about ticking boxes. Greavsey would be hoyed off air now with his jokes. World's gone too pc
Back when pro footballers looked like your local plumber or average bloke down the pub
"How can they play it on the Ramadan, nobody there? It's like watching Charlton play innit?" :P :O hahahaha! Classic Jimmy!
Think this was a more enjoyable and entertaining way of presenting sport compared to today
Great days. The game was played by men, back then.
Legend greavie pure class miss you
Super Bobby Taylor became a West Brom legend firing us into the premier league.

Classic Greavsie. 7.06. Hot,cross not getting a game bun
Clydebanks only Scottish cup semi final appearance, we lost 2 nil to that mob, but it was a great day out anyway. Big ken Eadie, what a player.
@ 4:05 is what being a big centre forward is all about.
1:38 You what Alan???? 😧
I love that City Away strip
Frankie Bunn hot and cross lol. Class Jimmy.
I always felt that the unfortunate events of Hillsborough is what started the decline of Liverpool such a great football club
Is that astro turf at Oldham? And that Sweden game looks like early signs of COVID
Yeah mate. Bounce on the ball was crazy
6:13 A midday kick off on a Friday? I don’t remember that happening before.
Good Friday.

Prize draw from the rubbish bin - brilliant
What’s up with Oldham’s pitch?
@@joseparcenary4706 it looked better than QPR's attempt. I believe they do it in American Football. .. relay the pitch to cover frozen pitches
Astro turf...aka plastic pitch... Luton had one as well...
This was a year after Hillsborough disaster
@A nose for goal........😁😁😁😁😁
He said it three times 😂 Like you'd get away with that now.
He's got no hair but we don't care, Chrissy Price!!
