- THIS IS THE LAST EVER EPISODE OF THE SAINT AND GREAVSIE FOOTBALL PROGRAMME. THE LAST OF THREE SHOWS RECORDED AT THE EUROS 1992 FINALS IN STOCKHOLM , SWEDEN. EX FOOTBALLERS IAN ST JOHN AND JIMMY GREAVES FRONTED THIS ICONIC FOOTBALL PROGRAMME IN THE 1980’S AND EARLY 1990’s. DUE TO EURO 1992 COPYRIGHT ISSUES THE MATCH HIGHLIGHTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THIS CLIP.
The Saint gone and Greavsie in a right old pickle but they put out one hell of a pc free show...definitely the good old days
Even watching this in 2022 it’s still very watchable, their chemistry is brilliant.

The chat around 7 mins in is bang on the money, Football has been changing for the worse for many years. The fans enjoyment comes behind the clubs agenda these days which is making money. The big business men installed the American model for sport here. We are probably only a few years away from four periods not two halves. More advert breaks so more money.
this is fantastic, I looked up this programme on youtube because I was interesting in seeing footage of Tottenham legend Jimmy Greaves, and the first video I come across is a video shot in my home city, the beautiful Stockholm, I am amazed

I was 9/10 and used to love st and greavsie. As a Liverpool fan it would be great to see us win the league this year having only just come across these old vids of late.

Sad! Sky missed a trick not putting the show on a Saturday morning between Soccer AM and Soccer Saturday especially in the early days when Geoff Stelling was finding his feet.
but it was ITV's decision to end the show too

End of an era feeling watching this. With Saint and Greavsie stopping, the start of the premier league and Sky getting the rights to show it. Plus Euro 96 went ok. Even with the bit of trouble after the German game.

Premier league came along and ruined football we lost saint and greavesie utd started winning leagues made it all about money within 8years of this they were pulling out of fa cups and spending 28m on players hope they fall away into midtable now.

These two paved the way for Jeff Stelling, Charlie Nicholas, Matt Le Tissier, and probably Ian And Jimmy were better, but look at sky now getting rid of a them with a year on there contracts, so that they will be more diverse. 😕

Yet people are moaning about the axing of Soccer Am. This show was levels and levels above that show. This show was in a league of it’s own with two footballing icons of the English game, sadly no longer with us, presenting it. Even though it only lasted 7 years, it still got you buzzed up for Saturday afternoon football, back when every single football match was played on that day as well.
R.I.P. Ian St John, Jimmy Greaves and Jack Charlton.

Hi Adrian......Yes you are right, the original which I have is 40 minutes long. As I mention below the clip that I have had to remove the 14 minutes of Euro 1992 highlights from the show or the whole episode will be blocked worldwide. Pity....

Brilliant growing Glasgow as 10 year old watched Saint & Greavsie then headed for the PUB lol then to the stadium .Fans are desperate for new light hearted football Saturday morn-midday show Create new same style show .A must would be Ally McCoist BUT who would be good partner Good idea got Jimmy Bullard & Gazza (subtitles required Gazza on travels hunting what club has best Pie) to go up\down Country doing part comedy part serious interviews Why never tried because no doubt be huge hit with footy fans Sky & BT are too serious fans need Saturday laugh.
Was like ritual viewing part prep ,feel good factor before went to match.
