- Wanted to introduce you all to Lil’ Brown, our rat rod project.
I have wanted to build a rat rod type truck for years and though I have a bunch going on and many projects going, we couldn’t pass up the value.
That Rat Rod and the Buick are going to be sweet!
Just a simple tip on the tape. Pull out about a half inch to a inch of tape and fold back on itself, leaving a tab of tape. Never loose the end again. Jack.

October 20,2022. How is the progress coming?
Looks like a fun project, do you have a front suspension the steering? A newer car chassis would look silly. That's why most use the model T or model A, maybe early 30s.

We did get axles along with all the steel to build a frame. Originally I was trying to find a better base but I could build a nice frame cheaper and better designed to fit the truck so that’s what will happen I’m sure. We have been shopping plasma tables so I could make plates to get the curved front rail but many changes can be in play depending on what we find out there.
The front straight axle we got with the load is out of a 50’s Chevy truck and the rear is a 12 bolt (looks like a truck also).

We are managing. I have a few more hectic weeks of catching up on my master program. I’ll post something during if I can or after.

Yea u def have to watch how much head room you have inside. My brothers 29 Ford street rod is chopped to much and we have to sit ducking down the whole time. I don’t even like to ride in it cause of it. I wonder if a Jeep Wrangler frame would work for your rat rod?
I think I’m going to just build a custom frame for it. I have the material and skill, so why not. ;)
We shall see. Will take a bit of time with my masters going on, but we’re gonna have some fun with it for sure.

Another dang, 5 months and no more video on this project 😢
I started a masters program and lost my dad last fall. It was rough for me to get back to the garage for a while for emotions and school alike.
I’m a month out from completing my spring semester then I’ll be painting the 66 along with finally starting the rat rod project.
I didn’t prepare enough back footage to cover the winter as I’m usually a film and edit that week.
I’m trying, and thanks for watching.
