Fantastic! Finally someone takes the natural trail sounds into consideration when editing a video. Music is ok, but squeaking springs, gravel pop, splashing puddles and sounds of nature are what I want to hear in off road videos. As a fellow creator, imagine that, money doesn't grow on trees and useful products don't magically appear in our trucks. How dare us do things to support our endeavors.
Great list!! When it comes to camping, be it car or hiking... experience lets you know what gear works.. like you have spent many years camping with Boy Scouts, and then in the military (very different experience from BSA) but with all the years I have learned... what works, what doesn't and I will continue to try new things.. Thanks for what you do... Happy Trails!!
To avoid the costs of firestarters, soaking cotton in vasoline makes dependable alternatives that burn a long time. As a child, I sold a small tin of these for $0.50 at gunshows. Some weekends, I would see over 1000 quickly.
On our trip this year, two weeks in CO and UT, we vacuum sealed and froze things like wild rice soup, chili, and other pasta meals for two. Take them out of the freezer and boil in a bag to temp. Since my wife makes great meals like this it was such a simple task. Make bigger than normal portions at home for later trips off grid. Cleanup is easy and meals are to die for and space in the Setpower freezer is minimal. Freeze them flat in your home freezer to maximize space.
For sous vid the next level tip is to use a torch to get your sear. Fast, clean, and easy. It's how I do it at home, and great at camp. Dishes-free meat.
Heh, probably your best gear list video to be honest. Appreciate you kept the camera info in there. I just had my third GoPro battery swell up and turn into an extra-spicy puffy pillow after doing a time-lapse... so I too with be moving to the DJI cameras soon.
I've been doing the sous vide thing for years. When steaks are on sale, salt and pepper the steak, add a bit butter and sprig of rosemary, sous vide, ice bath, and throw it in the freezer... When it's time to camp, raid the freezer, toss the steaks in the fridge and go. Same goes with chili verde, pork loins and more.
Cool video, I didn’t see a link to that firewood bag. Did a search and couldn’t find that one. Wanting to see the size of it. Can you put a link or show me where I missed it? Thanks
I am a huge fan of those mechanix wear gloves. I have a set in hi-viz yellow that makes them easy to spot when you set them down and I’ve found helps with hand signals whirl spotting as well.
Hard pass on cooking in plastic via sous vide. I’ll skip those chemicals and plastic in my food. But love the rest of your video. Just ordered some of those OXO bottles. We’ve been looking for something like those.
Justin Thank you for sharing great product reviews. Many people have been without power because of the recent hurricane/ flooding back east and some commented that the only information they received was from hand crank / solar radios. Do you have a recommendation of an off grid radio you can share with your followers? Thank you, Dennis
Justin, Would you consider what companies promote closure of public lands, please? One of the companies you mentioned in this video actively lobbies to close public land to vehicles.
Hey, fellas (Justin and Rob - my two favorite TH-cam personalities)! I intentionally didn't mention the company's name. This company was on a list of companies that were actively lobbying to close roads. That list was passed around many years ago, though, so they may have changed their stance. I am just asking for that consideration of who might be on that list. It would be an ugly irony if you were unwittingly promoting limiting your ability to continue to provide the great content you do. Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration.
Darn. Didn’t work. If you fall asleep while watching my channel, my videos continue to play and I get that real TH-cam money. Also, it’s “bland” not “blend.” Will It Blend is a different channel.
Honestly... Now days, lighters are easy to come by... The only reason I could see you wanting to carry a Ferro rod is in a super cold climate where your worried of your lighters not working maybe?... Or just have one as a last resort
You guys , your viewers are not dumb , we know when company’s are doing PR pushes, for instance you and 20 other TH-camrs are pushing anker power stations
Did I call you dumb? I specifically say in this video that I no longer have a sponsorship from Anker and wanted to show alternatives. And to that point, all previous sponsorships have been disclosed. By leaving this comment, you are countering your opening statement. Also, you don’t need a space following a comma - makes you look, well, dumb. Ok - now I called you dumb and you have a right to complain. Enjoy shouting at your cloud.
I mean who cares if they highlight a product. It's nice to see what is new out there. I'm still doing the due diligence to see if it will be of benefit for me. I don't just blindly buy things that I see showcased on TH-cam.
I literally say it’s QVC, so you didn’t even watch the full “ad.” I actually specifically mention you in the last 45 seconds of the video. You’ll want to skip to that to see how I feel about people who get mad that I want to feed my family.

Also, when I smoke ribs, I do multiple racks at the same time. We split them in half and seal in Foodsaver bags. They also boil up nice and hot.

Great find on the Oxo leak proof bottles, just bought them😃 We have the Hest pillows and love them! Total game changer!

A lot of (high-end) restaurants pre-cook their protein this way to ensure consistency.

For cooking oil, put in an empty squeeze honey bottle
Or spend $11 and get the right tool for the job. 🤷♂️
Can you share a link to that snorkle?

Is his worth getting over a Ham radio setup ?
I wouldn’t say these handhelds are better than an installed radio. But they are worth carrying for redundancy, especially for the price.
Where did you get your swinging trailer hitch bike rack?
It’s from Rig’d.
@@JustinBMcBride expensive but it's definitely a nice option. Thanks dude. Great vid

Which one?
I’m guessing REI?

That bluetti is a way better deal than jackery or anker. Who cares about the light.
Light, size, USB access, and noise. Small reasons not to save good money. I agree.
If you’re Overlanding in a jeep, there is absolutely no reason to carry a ferro rod. Put a couple lighters in your glove box.
Good thing I’m only car camping.
