    I watched and studied every second of the video. My first attempt at the task turned out perfect. It was a pair of pants for a very large man at church who could not find a professional seamstress in our town who would take on the job! I have become the amateur sewing repair 'go to' of my church group because of terrific gals like you would share their phenomenal skills via TH-cam videos.

    Thanks so much for this! I found a pair of nylon pants at the thrift store for $1, then scavenged parts from two old convertible pants, and made the $1 pants into a convertible pair for travel. I could not have done this without you, and you saved me a lot of money, too!

    Awesome technique! I was just commenting recently to my son about trying to find women’s zip off pants for hiking. Now I can do it myself 😊 Thanks for a great tutorial ❤️

    This is really going to help me with a cosplay I'm making! I've only had a vague idea of how to sew zippers but this video has made me a bit more confident. For my cosplay, I'm going to be sewing horizontal zippers like in the video, but also vertical zippers to hide/unhide a pattern that will run up the shorts portion of the pants. Once it's finished, I'll probably share it on Twitter!

    On the pants that became zip off bottoms, how many inches between the marking lines?

  • @MorganJServices
    @MorganJServices 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Angela, can you help? How do I deal with the puckering on the top stitch. The rolled up portion of the pant leg (after the zipper install) is less wide than portion of pant leg being stitched to. I am altering pants for a 300 pound man. His pants at the thigh just above the knee measures 30". The 2 zippers installed without a problem, including the fabric to cover the zipper and protect skin.

    I have a question. Did this technique shorten the length of the pants by several inches?

    • @AngelaWolf
      @AngelaWolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but depends on the zipper - the zipper can make up enough to compensate the seam allowances. You could also use different fabric to make up for that - if you can find a similar color :)

      @@AngelaWolf Thank you for your response. I'm creating a zip-off overall for a hike in Japan. I assume the allowance for the fold at the top of the zip-off needs to be the width of the zipper. That would be about 1.25 inches in the case of YKK #5 separating zipper. Does that make sense?

    Do you think it is practical if I do it to jean pants? Or are jeans too stiff?

    • @AngelaWolf
      @AngelaWolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depend on the weight of denim, but I would probably pass on doing this to jeans

    How many inches is the space between the marking lines?

    • @AngelaWolf
      @AngelaWolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which lines - the side seams or decorative stitching?

    • @blazenarihtar2108
      @blazenarihtar2108 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lines on the pants that you made into zip off bottoms
