    The factory took this gun back and gave me a refund so there will be no more testing until they send me the promised T&E gun. I did only use Winchester ammo 20 rounds of high velocity slugs and the rest was hot target ammo that has the same muzzle energy and weight as mil-spec buckshot. I had a large bruise on my shoulder after this shoot. I watched the videos by Gunblast and fpsrussia. They both mention that the gun malfunctioned "a few times". If you watch the fpsrussia video closely you can see the gun malfunction four times. If they ever come through with a T&E gun I will arrange to shot at least 500 rounds of as many different brands as possible with as many different shooters as possible. But the guns was designed for the military so it has to be able to shoot mil-spec ammo even if it is made by Winchester.
    This is a review of the SRM Arms M1216 shotgun. I try to show you all of the features and flaws. I am sorry that this video is so long. I edited it down from over 2 hours of video. I have tried to show everything clearly and to be fair to SRM Arms. This is a newly released firearm and hopefully they will work out the bugs.

    I have watched all six parts of this series. Thanks for posting it I can tell that you put a lot of work into it. Any word on the T&E gun? I am surprised that SRM has not responded with a T&E gun yet. You have about 100,000 views on this series.

    Thanks for the constructive criticism. I have watched all of the video that you have published and I will use them as a model for my future vids.

    Thanks for watching. I would like to see the design tweeked and maybe the manufacturing process improved so that the working parts are smoother. I liked the design of the gun and it did handle very well. My Remington 1100 with an extended mag tube seems long and clumsy after shooting this gun.

    Love this video
    Gave me some good tips and what to do before I fire my SRM ARMS 1216 the 1st time. On the followers to see them better. You can always put a 🤏 small drop of pink , orange, green paint on the followers. That's what I'm going to do once my comes in

    The whole process took from November 2011 to May 2012. I sent the first gun back for repairs three times and returned the second gun for a full credit. I only had a SRM1216 in my possession for about two weeks total. The rest of the time it was in transit or back at the factory. It was very frustrating and I was bewildered that they kept sending me shotguns that did not work when they knew that I was posting videos of the process.

    I agree. SRM took this shotgun back and gave me another one that I tested in Part 4.

    You've already found a number of problems before we get into the second minute of the review, and honestly, it only gets worse from there. You've given this gun a lot of chances (I've seen the other parts of the review), and it seems to constantly fail you.
    I want to thank you for doing these reviews. IDK how many people you've saved from buying this thing, but we really owe you. You are fair, even generous, but present your thoughts on the weapon honestly. We need more gun reviewers like you.

    Hi zqgd: Thanks for watching at least a little bit of this video. If you want your comments to be understood I suggest that you use punctuation and capitalization. I have read about a dozen of your comments on other videos and none of them make any sense. Good Luck and keep working on your communication skills.

    My camera man did not think to tell me that the light was on. I had a special three light set-up and that florescent lamp screwed it up. By the time I noticed it I had already sent the shotgun back for repairs.

    My plan was to have the barrel threaded but not before I thoroughly tested the gun. SRM said that if I threaded the barrel it would void the warranty on just the barrel. I see that SRM now offers a breaching choke. Maybe they will thread the barrels now.

    You should be able to rotate the magazine in either direction. I was trying to develop good habits with this gun and I settled on rotating the magazine clockwise. To release the mag for rotation you have to push up (clockwise) with your thumb. It seemed more efficient to continue that motion and rotate the mag clockwise. When I rotated the magazine counterclockwise sometimes my thumb would come off of the release lever too soon and the mag would not rotate.

    I fired about 100 rounds through two different guns in parts 3 and 4. Links to part 3 and 4 are at the beginning of this video.

    IN A Fight or Flight Situation you might be Best to Run like Hell,
    are the Very least Duck and Cover real quick .
    but you have atleast done a great Service of alerting Consumers to a neat concept of a gun that is still in dire needs to get its way to many quirks corrected and Addressed .

    Man, This shotgun needs to be redesign and all the bugs worked out.
    Because no soldier in their right mind would use a shotgun that platform this poorly!
    Especially if they are in combat.

    GREAT REVIEW! I would NEVER get this P.O.S. You proved beyond a shadow of doubt that this weapon is not to be trusted. Perhaps a cool show off or range gun, but for any application where dependency is an issue at all... NO WAY. Thanks again for the diligent review!

    Pressing the release button does make it easier to insert the magazine but it should not be necessary. Imagine having to press the release button when you inserted a magazine into your AR15 or semi-automatic pistol.

    The only thing I don't like is that you kept going on about is how it would chamber another round when you put in a new "tube", or magazine. Why would you put a loaded mag in if you weren't planning on firing it immediatly after EMPTYING the first 1 anyway? It doesn't seem that difficult to release the chamber before putting the mag in if you were keeping it for home use. Hard to get my point across with limited characters to type, but I tried.

    Good vid. I'm on a waiting list for the UTS-15, a 15-round pump. And I guess I'll find out how idiot proof that is once I get it. Anyway... this is just my thought on the SRM1216, but I think I would fumble with it. They should integrate the magazine rotation with a pump action mechanism, so your support hand wouldn't have to move off the bottom of the handguard (I guess that would make it a semi-pump hybrid). But reaching up to rotate feels different and wrong to me. I couldn't do it.

    No break in and user errors galore!

    • @mars1952
      @mars1952  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that I did make some user errors. I have purchase 20 or so new guns over the years and never have I had one that needed a break-in. Except for this one they all worked perfectly right out of the box. Most of the time I owned this gun it was at the factory for repairs. It is pretty hard to break a gun in and become proficient with it when it is at the factory for repairs and the rest of the time it fails to function. I made 5 videos about the gun and many dangerous malfunctions were demonstrated.

    Need help bad! Having ejection problems on my older Remington 1100, has 30" barrel with 3" magazine. I have cleaned and replaced my "O" ring but problem remains. When I fire weapon slide does not fully open. Working the slide manually, I can feel some resistance build up halfway back through the ejection cycle. Can anyone please give advice on how to fix the gun so it can recycle as a full automatic? Its turkey season, help please!!

  • @scottqk
    @scottqk 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ok thanks, sucks they will not let dealers reduce it. I'd happily pay $1,200 for such a gun but $2.400 is not right for a semi-auto shotgun. I can grab a full-auto one for close to that alone threw my class 3 dealer friend.

    Good review but this shotgun sucks. If you want an awsome shotgun get the Kushnapup Saiga 12 bullpup, that is after it is well tested to make sure its solid. I would love to see somone torture test it and see if it still fires.
