This has been so helpful, I got my pendant motor 2 weeks ago and I’ve totally been overwhelmed by what I need or should get to help with my Jewellery making. Thanks
I've got to tell ya, Jess, these are some excellent recommendations! Filled in the gaps of the ones I didn't have from your video about a month ago and they've made all tidying work so much easier. Great video! Thank you.
Hello! Thanks for the video, I don't use many bit, bobs or burs, so I was excited to watch this video, It was informative and I enjoyed it very much. Don't give up on those felt tips, they are supposed to be used with compound and will give an excellent high glossy finish. Thanks again for the video!!
I love all of these. Thanks for sharing. I use all of these regularly. Put them to use on my latest pendant I’ll be posting here tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration
Hello... Your video is very interesting and your explanation of how to use the bits is realy clear and helpfull. I am about to buy a foredom pendant motor. I am not a professional and used à dremel for years. I wonder if I can use (most of) my bits in this handpiece that you are using. Or do I need only one size? Than I have to replace also a lot of the pieces I've got already. Thank you for your answer. Have a nice evening. Mieke
Yes, the Foredom hammer handpiece is only compatible with certain models, so please do make sure to check whether your model is compatible. You might find this video of ours helpful. th-cam.com/video/fc9BskgfnUU/w-d-xo.html x
@@JewellersAcademy thanks, got to check if they ship to Italy and the cost of shipment...it's so hard to find tools and materials at a reaso able price in my country, sigh...
Hi Jessica, I'd like to ask if you still make all your jewellery by yourself? With the academy and other aspects of the business, is it too time-consuming to do handmade products? I always wonder about this about DIY jewellery business. There is only 1 person but so limited time, especially when there are large sales. Thank you!
Dude, there is no "supposed to" there is what works for you, and what doesnt(safety concerns aside, but please, use common sense) It's always helpful to see what others use for a given task.
was looking for this comment, I found the felt tips near useless until I used polishing compound with it the felt tips are the BEST for putting on a really nice polish
@@JewellersAcademy not "you can" ..you must!!! you cant use them without it. they do nothing. think of them like paint brushes. you cant paint a house with a dry brush. they are made to hold compound.

What would you say is the advantage of using the handpiece for polishing, compared to a motor bench polisher?
A hand piece is often better at polishing more intricate or smaller pieces x
Thank you this should really help :D
Glad you found it helpful! x
Excellent! Thank you! Do you use any rubber tips?
Yes I do. You can get the rubber tips in different grits too, from coarse too fine. x

Hi there, yes you should be able to use the pendant motor ends you already have as they are universal in fit. x
Is this pendant motor the sort of thing you can use with a hammer type tool for bezel setting? Thanks.
Yes, the Foredom hammer handpiece is only compatible with certain models, so please do make sure to check whether your model is compatible. You might find this video of ours helpful. th-cam.com/video/fc9BskgfnUU/w-d-xo.html x
What would you use to remove solder from difficult to reach area? An area that is difficult to use a file on
Coarse 3M radial discs or Everflex tips on your pendant motor can be helpful in getting rid of excess solder in hard to reach places x
I love the cup fresels, where can I get them?
You should be able to buy the cup burrs from somewhere like Cookson's x

is scotch bright good for newly cast silver/gold?
Of course scotch bright can be used on newly cast silver/gold. It will always give a satin/matte feel.
You are supposed to use the felt tips with a polishing compound (:
Yes of course, you can use the felt tips with a polishing compound. x

How do you get into smaller areas for matte finish?
The 3M radial discs are good for this. Use the coarser grades for a matt finish. x
Two thumbs up
Yaay! So pleased you found this helpful lovely x
Oh, yes, we do need all the things! 😂
We absolutely do! x
Hi, can I use a nail drill to polish jewelry? 😅
I'm not too sure to be honest, we would always recommend using the right tools for jewellery making x

I know you are just doing a demo but you should use a dust mask. Those polishes are nasty
Yes, you are completely right. We would always recommend using a mask and goggles. Thanks for pointing that out.
