- I was invited by my mate Ellis to visit his business, Automoda, and drive a very special Lancia rally car. A 1971 Lancia Fulvia 1600HF Fanalone Group 4 Rally Car that was recently used by Sony to create the version of that cat in the latest Gran Turismo game. Perhaps one of the best examples of a rally spec Fulvia there is and it was a real privilege to be given the opportunity to drive it.
Ellis then gave me an offer I simply couldn't refuse. To drive his full FIA spec Lancia Delta Integrale rally car. What an incredible machine.

Owned a Fulvia 1600HF rally car from Italy, upgraded to met UK Motorsport safety spec and staged rally on the Historic tarmac championship 4yr ago. Unfortunately just not quick enough against the Minis!! Now rally a 1978 Vauxhall Chevette HS 2.3 SOHC, still not quick enough against the Escorts! Love your videos, so amazed you have the time to respond, keep it up

Loved the Lancia Fulvia. We got stopped speeding in one by the army in Belfast in the 90s. They let us go, I assume because they though the car was cool.
My favourite video you’ve put out Pete! That Integrale is my dream car. Keep up with the brilliant content, it’s inevitable you’re soon going to hit the 100k mark, and it’s so well deserved!

Before using this car Sony contacted me and asked to use my 1600HF. I agreed but when they saw the photos they asked why aren’t the inside headlights big? “Because it’s not a Fanalone” I said. Oh! Ok we don’t want it. I don’t blame them, my 1600HF is beautiful but that’s just stunning!

This rally car is amazing! I know Ped grew up with rallying as we attended the same Lombard RAC rally stages (but obv didn't know each other.) Just hearing the car has made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. WOW 🤩 I wish I was there! I would love a ride in it.

And this was Lancia, folks! Rally legends, class and innovative cars until Fiat decided to kill this piece of Italian art. Lancia still has the record in rally world titles 30 years after retirement. Little to say, hats off!
Well done Pete. This is what driving is about. So many channels get it wrong. I don’t care about the 0-60, I don’t care about the lap time, it’s all about the experience.

I am a huge fan of Rally cars and Rally events the Audi Quattro stands out for me and Fast Fords but the Integrale is my Joker car. When I lived in Aberdeen there was a guy that lived near the Hospital that had two in his driveway and I was always in envy when I drove past. I really enjoyed that film tonight. Thanks.

Reminds me of trying and failing to keep up with Henri Toivonen in an S4 Lancia who was travelling between stages on the RAC. We were flat out in a Beta Coupe and had never seen anything move like an S4. Went onto to own a new HF turbo with Integrale bits on it plus cam and a chip. Those were the days.

Why does anything with a Martini livery look so cool. Add to that one of the most iconic rally car/hot hatchbacks ever and you can't go wrong. The vintage one looked pristine.

I was considering an electric car next time round but every time I see a really enjoyable video like this I think "stuff that" because I want to continue to enjoy hearing the sound of a sporty petrol engine and the pleasure of playing tunes on the gearbox as long as I have a soul. I would guess that many others feel this way and regret that I am not ready to switch to an EV as yet.
