I grew up in coastal NC and my dad used to just drive to these little towns sometimes. My dad would hand me a map and ask me how to get somewhere, but he never really needed it. It amazed me at the time but I inherited it as well once I go somewhere I know how to get there.
My dad was the same way, it didn't matter how many years it had been he remembered the roads. It takes me five, ten times somewhere to figure out the roads. I got lost around Rich Square one time trying to dodge the scale on the main road. It was a nightmare with a tractor trailer
@@TimothyFrench Keep up with the stories Timothy, and don't change a thing with "talking Southern", as you are a Southerner after all. As for Rich Square, I feel it's doing a pretty good job of dealing with the hand they have been dealt. Like you said, some really beautiful homes on the outskirt of town, and signs of improvement in the town itself. I hope their plan includes saving those brick buildings if the interiors are half as nice as the exteriors.
