I'm a Charlotte natve and the best thing I ever did was buy a starter home off Rea Road near Providence for $115,000 and then bought another rental near Carmel and Johnston (both in 28226 zip) in 2003 for $143,000. $258,000 invested over 20 years ago = $1.37 million dollars in equity.
Nice! That is a great investment! I love to work on that side of things since there is no emotion involved. If the numbers work, they work. DO you have them as rentals?
NC mountains its said feel bad for the people its beautiful but also like the beach areas are worse in drugs than charlotte and charlotte is a big city...
I agree that South Carolina can be cheaper. Rock Hill has made some big changes lately and the area is growing and improving. We have seen prices rise over 30% in that area in the last 3 years which is huge. It can be hard to find an inexpensive starter home but the later in life stage homes are usually a great option
Will Do.....Do You Have Any Options for Someone who Wants to First Time Home Buyer In Your State Local Area But Live In Another State? Want To Mov There And Work In The Health System To buy my first home but don't want to be renting and other unnecessary living arrangements. Want to be about to move and close with ease as much as possible.
Closing with ease can be done. We need to get an offer letter for your job in NC and then once the Lender qualifies you, we can time your closing to work smoothly. Once the job is lined up, give me a call! 704-454-8820
Some folks from Charlotte bought a home in my neighborhood recently. They paid a third more than the home was worth ($200,000 more), and started remodeling immediately although the home was recently renovated. Several weeks and many $thousands later it looks much worse than when they started. Where do people this dumb get their money?
Unfortunately, having money does not mean you have taste… I’ve seen plenty of houses that have been renovated that are absolutely atrocious. It’s a shame because then somebody else has to spend all that extra money to fix it and the house will never sell if it’s that much over. Unbelievable! It ruins the entire neighborhood. Maybe when they have to take a loss on the house they’ll learn a lesson. 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Thank you for this video. Born in SC. Raised in Florida. Want to retire to NC near Charlotte. This is very helpful.
It's pretty awful state you will see
Tha k you so much for doing this, we are seniors and on a fixed income.
Of course! I am happy to help when you need to look around!
The BEST way to get to downtown Charlotte is to catch the Carolinian from either Raleigh or Cary.
Sounds like a great way to go

South Carolina would be much better. Say somewhere around Rock Hill.
