That last one was actually a decent game. Actually played like a 2-D Sonic game, and would actually be considered scary of half the internet wasn’t desensitized to this type of horror from it being so overdone.

The true modern Sonic.exe kino is PC Port Remake. Very similar to the original but more focused on surreal horror instead of straightup gore, which works a lot better for a cartoony world like early Sonic. There's not much to it right now, but it's genuinely really well executed.

Not gonna lie, the last game is honestly really well made. And the level where you play as Sonic is really intresting... how the player keeps flashing between the horror and regular gameplay. The "on the edge" sprite used to nail the anxiety/discombobulation... how Eggman is acting like everythings normal until something takes over Sonic and what becomes their usual interaction turns into something horrifying...if Sonic.exe ever acually happened to the characters THAT would be how it plays out. It's such a cool interpretation of Sonic.exe. Also man what did Ray do to deserve that :,(

I was almost a developer on a sonic.exe game. Not sure if any of them were in this video since it's been years. I ended up quitting after the other devs were homophobic to me and allowed people to sexualize my OCs. I was the only female there at the time (I'm trans now) it was incredibly awkward. Edit: it was definitely the second game. One of the most uncomfortable times of my life in that dev server. There were a whole series of games related to this server all about sonic.exe

The true modern Sonic.exe kino is PC Port Remake. Very similar to the original but more focused on surreal horror instead of straightup gore, which works a lot better for a cartoony world like early Sonic. There's not much to it right now, but it's genuinely really well executed.
