First off, this was an amazing origin. For once it's not a demon or something possessing Sonic, but something original, a monitor box! I love that! Finally something new and cool! And the voice actors did a great job!
I take it you never read Sonic the Comic? It was a British children's comic published by Fleetway. One of the early foes was the Sonic within an Extra Life Monitor, known as Extra Life. Tails freed it, thinking it was the real Sonic. Extra Life nearly defeated Sonic, but Tails managed to seal it back within the monitor. In the comic, the Extra Life monitor was created by Dr. Kintobor to help Sonic in the future. You may know him by a different name, Dr. Robotnik. He was the Good Dr. Kintobor before an accident with one of his inventions turned him into the evil Robotnik. Still, the video is pretty good and I hope this doesn't ruin your enjoyment of it.

This remind me of that one spefic sonic.exe game where Tails's Demo was about going through green hill act 1 and 2 than ended up into angel island that I still wonder if this game is gone or forgor (I still remember that there was that easter egg boss fight with Tails Doll on a update apparently)
