its nice to see viewer feedback incorporated into the playthrough! i sense potential for an infinite feedback loop of improvement leading towards a mega-factory... nay, a GIGA-FACTORY!!
You will need just over 1,08 coal pr. sec for each set of 48 smelters, so you can support 27 collum's of 48 smelters with one red belt of coal at 60 items/sec
Right off the bat, I learned something. It is _not_ the case, "whomever smelt it dealt it," after all (!) Now, I think I see my issue with the the single decider combinator thing... it's recursive, and Idk why given my bro and my dad are/were excellent programmers,* I've always wondered about recursion. I'm gonna fix that flaw now. Thank you for the coverage...! Given I think you've done mega bases, do you use "belt weaving," like this guy shows? Cursed Belt Weaving th-cam.com/video/2NKK_2v4jiE/w-d-xo.html... then again Trupen commented that the devs "fixed it." Now, Trupen jokes _all the time_ so idk if he was joking there... So it may already be moot, and that would suck given my 30-45 mins (ok, more like 2hrs) of trying to understand what the heck is going on because it makes storage on space platforms potentially unlimited... ...I read through the rest of that comments on that reply thread and it supposibly^^ only fixed this: The "Infinite Productivity Bonus" glitch --> th-cam.com/video/Za18SLd0PD0/w-d-xo.html Idk what that is, so there's also that... and that doesn't affect the infinite storage belt weaving (?) ____________________________________ * My bro used to tell prospective employers he was equivalent in throughput to 6 Chinese programmers, so they may think they are saving money on a per person basis they were not. If they want the project done, he is inevitably cheaper. Now with Willow, Google's Quantum Computer on a chip, who knows what tomorrow brings... but Willow... Willow already knows (!) Forget about Grok 2... they will interact and rule da' world... Many years ago I came across a public presentation of the military acronym BRINE which stands for "Biological, Radiological, Incendiary, Nuclear, and Explosive..." well not exactly... it's not what I read in the public paper... It was Biological (meaning artificial life^), Radiological is the same, Intelligence (AI), Nuclear (Idr) and Energy (Scalar weapons, etc.) Google's Willow can potentially created "mirrored molecules" and build mirrored "life" made out of the D not L forms of organic molecules. Us human's don't know whether or not it's possible, but then again Willow in 5 mins can make 10^25 calculations... so ruh roh. This mirrored chiral life would not be "detected as" life, by normal lifeforms btw... hence why the military got all wet about this idea. The human led research into this, a few decades old produced no results... they are now concerned with Willow on the job, it may solve this problem... ^ At the time I was thinking more like "Dark Angel" that tv show with that very pretty now billionaire chick (Jessica Alba). Boy was I wrong! I keep forgetting I guess: Fiction is limited to the human mind, _Reality_ is not! ^^ This word I've used for years has been removed from the lexicon about a year ago from options of words of the plebs by fiat. I call shenanigans and ignore this reframing of my open air prison rules !!! I do not consent! 🤬 In the end, our rulers want us to communicate exclusively with emojis, I mean, just text is already so restrictive (no inflection, tone of voice, or body language queues) they might as well push to maximum duh...
wow - the belt weaving thing blew my mind. what a crazy thing... holy smokes, is it broken? will they "fix" it? not sure, some really interesting mechanics in space age that definitely teeter on ... broken. then the infinite chest machines.. that's even more cray... sheesh
@@TheJarGames According to a video I watched today, from JD Plays, it's still works (!) Ship Design 101: Storage in Space *UNLIMITED STORAGE* th-cam.com/video/-OS6fIxj2wM/w-d-xo.html I'm sorry, but Factorio just entered the multiverse, imo (!) This idea, idk how the heck they programmed the game to do this making undergrounds of different tiers inhabit a multiverse of madness... but I'm gonna use it for something, when Idk... I may replace the storage thingies with some belts/undergrounds like that, but atm, I don't need such extraordinary space... if you have an idea for that, exclusive to the end flights at the edge of the Factorio universe, I'm interested. I just got the tech that you used in your BP for the space platform with the carbonic, metallic and oxide icons with the NASA like circle around it with an arrow... but when I used your BP I got it _before_ I got that tech, and it looked like it worked, it didn't throw any errors, or malfunction the ship. For some reason, it's not obvious to me either how to make one of the ships a dedicated hauler for my Vulcanus science packs exclusively... i.e., setting up the logic. I load and set it off myself manually. I check to ensure it doesn't boomerang back to Vulcanus too. Sometimes the null condition works, sometimes it does not. I don't understand why... Btw, the full dollar store version of your ship works fine at least for the first planet Vulcanus. Vulcanus must be the preschool grade for all the planets I guess (!) Hard to mess up... like I didn't know until yesterday the pipes on Vulcanus can transport an INFINITE amount of sulfuric acid... well, that's useful to a noob like me, experienced players on their Discord not so much (!) Factorio must have an easy way to do this hauler function full auto. So in the future that would be a good video to produce, imo, too... as you venture out again to the -stars- planets...
