As a USC fan, nothing will ever make up for that 2006 title game. However, this game did make things a little easier. Hell of a game by Texas. Tons of respect earned for them, and I am very excited for next seasons rematch. How did you guys enjoy this classic?
Harris Highlights as a Texas fan I believe Texas finally found their identity on D, and am confident when Buechele comes back they will be a caliber top 10 team
Blake Bounds ehlinger still being a true freshman makes him vulnerable making mistakes, I feel more comfortable with buechele

Coming from a USC fan, I think Texas played an incredible game especially on defense. I was there in the Coliseum and the Texas fans showed nothing but class the entire game. Also, That last drive at the end of the 4th was a heisman drive by Darnold, with the game on the line and all momentum on Texas' side he stepped up big time, made some incredible throws not just that drive but really all game, and was the main reason we won the game. It'll be exciting to see what happens next year. FIGHT ON
SportsMixes02 We're the ones with class? USC's honoring of Texas legend Sean Adams was one of the classiest things I've ever seen in college football. Props to another classic, and just remember that Sam Darnold to us is like Vince Young to y'all now ;)

Any college fan knows that Texas basically beat themselves with turnovers. They had every possible chance to win this game but mistakes mistakes mistakes.
Raf Zero the only reason usc did win in regulation was bc of their own mistakes. Darnold was on the money, and they gave the texas defense too much credit

Texas has so many opportunities to win the game. But hats off to USC for finding ways to win.
I'm seriously so impressed by Ehlinger his movement and awareness in the pocket is amazing, needs to work on accuracy and reading but if that's just as a freshman he needs to play in the NFL

I was in the 5th row in the student section at this game. It nearly gave me a heart attack.
Texas was 40 seconds away from starting some early chaos in the rankings, but props to USC their defense is clutch and Texas just had a freshman QB making freshman mistakes. Congrats USC we'll see you next year Hook'em🤘🏻

I've been a diehard Texas fan for over 15 Years, I bleed burnt orange and this video gave me chills and I'm so proud of the longhorns, this isn't our year but next year might be cause we have the #2 recruiting class in the country right now, add those guys to what we already have and we might make a run!

Man this game was heart breaking. So many opportunities for Texas to win this one from Ehlinger not fumbling on that last drive to preventing that field goal right before the end of regulation. But god damn we played hard and how about Ehlinger? Back-up, true freshman QB coming into his own toward the end of the game. Hook 'em \m/

Why is nobody talking about Collin Johnson after 191 yards receiving in this game? He accounted more than half of Texas's team's yards. He's 6'6" with crazy athleticism, I went to the same elementary and high school (shoutout Achiever Christian and Valley Christian High School) as him and he's been doing backflip one handed catches for years. He's an awesome dude destined for greatness.

Texas, by all accounts, should have won that game. They beat themselves more than they lost to USC
Great game, especially live. I watched it in a bar full of UT fans while I was living in Austin. They really hate OU, btw. One thing I noticed re-watching this video is how the receivers on both teams shy away from contact. They either go out of bounds or slide down before they get hit. I was raised an Alabama fan, and watching SEC football every Saturday, it seems like the majority of the receivers in the conference don't play this way. It's much more physical and there's a lot of contact. Just an interesting observation. Nice job with the highlights.

Die hard USC fan here. This game was more than just a game for both of these teams. A hard fought battle of WAR between them. Heartbreaking losing that 2006 game, but this re-match was very sweet. I lost my voice at this game. Such a good game to watch. Fight On ❤️✌🏼💛

That was one crazy ending to the game. Ronald Jones was the only guy who could have pulled off that score before the half, a Texas boy ballin' on his fellow Texans. USC's Achilles heel was their offensive line. Sam Darnold basically bailed them out with his improvising, something Helton was never comfortable with. Texas brought it with their defense and Sam Ehliger with his gutsy passing. The next year, Texas trounced the Trojans in Austin. Darnold had left for the NFL and USC had the same problems in the the OL. The Longhorn defense ate them alive.

There is no excuse for letting usc score with 5 seconds remaining in the first half or lettling them get into field goal range with 45 seconds remaining. Texas outright should've won that game. Still was great though.
Fishing Outdoors and Random Stuff And they were playing prevent because UT thought that USC would go for a hail mary but USC threw a pass very far below coverage.
and the fact that usc got 4 timeouts in the first half... that last one leading to the TD
it frustrates me so much that texas’ defense played lights out the whole game except for the last drive; but i realize now the defense gave opportunities to the offense to put the game away and they couldn’t do anything. one of the all time football classics either way. hook em’!

I dont know if anyone else noticed but the first meeting between these schools Texas won by 3 points (41-38) and the rematch USC won by 3 points (27-24)
USC can beat my Texas Longhorns 20 Times over, but it still won't replace USC and it's fans that game they lost in 2006 Rose bowl. Great game ever, both teams played well. But those Longhorns ........ BEST EVER!!!!!!!
