You say Canadian citizens but this is wrong. It can also be permanent residents etc. This may make some think they aren’t eligible which wouldn’t be very good.

Hi. I am not able to get EI as I was short of 19 hours from 420 hours as I applied for EI maternity benefits. But my due date changed 10 days before . So should I apply for reconsideration??

I’m still waiting for an answer 😢 The agents who answer the phone are not allowed to do anything they have always to ask to a Treatment Agent who is supposed to call me back and never does. It’s about 2 months waiting

Canada and employment has fallen to serve. Its become a huge problem. People are not an individual at home payed job . People still look through news paper to fine a job . Prime minister Trudeau what is your problem not understanding employment Canada or services Canada which is which ?

How is it I get a tax bill from Ottawa in the middle of an appeal? Most likely they can’t carry over complete facts about eligibility. I was owed 11 weeks, given 8 weeks and then asked to repay up to 7 weeks. Makes zero sense. If I paid into a benefit, I get to use it and it shouldn’t be questioned.

As a western Canadian senior I found UIC to be discriminatory and totally unethical untrustworthy and just rotten to the core. Western Canada does not need this the new Employment Insurance agency and would be off without EI that will always serve Ontario and Quebec at the expense of the other provinces.

I was just denied EI because I ‘ quit without just cause’ even though I have more than enough hours and told the agent I need to work close to home at the moment. I was being transferred to a new Site hastily that was too far as am needed around home for those extra 2-3 hrs per day. I am also able to work and have such lined up in the same vicinity as my old job. I have text message proof of my old Foreman even asking if I would rather take a layoff. I think maybe because I didn’t try and go out to the new Site that you guys saw it as me giving in. What new information should I provide thanks

You're hooped man,. I've paid into this program for 20 years, and my truck broke down one day and before I could get it fixed the boss replaces me. And I was denied benefits. Zero income is a death sentence. I wish I never paid them anything

NO answers on your page to the many Canadians. We all pay into EI from our own hard work. Where are your answers or support??? Why is the government grilling us about 'job search's when we already have the expected amount of hour's to apply?? Obviously the many Canadians are seeking job's. We don't need any further stress or overlords during this extremely difficult process? We needn't be grilled about our situations given the fact that the government itself destroyed our previous careers due to completely unethical jab expectations?? When will you choose to stand up and fight for Canadians???

ASK THEM TO TAKE THE MAXIMUM OFF IN TAXES BECAUSE THESE IDIOTS DONT
they start you out at a certain percentage without telling you and then when tax time comes around, you didnt pay enough taxes .... so then the government will then demand money from you.....
you know ..the person who is on EI and doesnt have disposable income
now im on the phone with these idiots telling them to tax off the CORRECT amount of taxes

These "idiots" are giving you money while you are unemployed. You should be respectful and greatful that you live in a wonderful country like Canada where you are eligible for such a service rather than being rude. Do you think most of the world gets EI when they are out of work? EI is a privilege. Not a right. Show some respect.

@@endercharlie how fn stupid are you? It's not free money, you pay into it.
And it's not my problem if other countries don't do this. They also don't tax their people as much as we do here.
And you still miss my point entirely , the reason I'm complaining is because it cost me money at the end of the year for tax purposes . So I paid into this system ,just for them to not take the correct taxes off , leaving me owing money....
That's not efficient, that's kicking someone when they're already down
