he's always had that right :) the oscar is just a pleasant reminder.
Maybe not, but I want this man to keep his humility, it's fantastic to have someone so gracious and pure rise to the top, love this guy and what he does, you carry yourself in a way so few celebs do, a great person to aspire to and emulate

Understandable. I too would not be so sure of myself if I was in a particular profession for a time but never got to prove myself til decades later. The fact he won an Oscar is an inspiration
When he won that Oscar and shouted out his mom right away, I immediately started bawling my eyes out. I haven’t cried like that in over a year. Truly one of the sweetest souls in Hollywood.

I never saw The Goonies, but I've always thought his acting was phenomenal in _Temple of Doom_ especially considering what a steaming hot racist turd that role was, at least on its face.
His portrayal of Waymond was nothing short of beautiful. He deserves to win the Oscar. As do Stephanie Hsu and Michelle Yeoh.

I don’t think Short Round’s character was a racist depiction at all. Now the presentation of Indians… There you’d have a point.
What about it was racist? It’s been a while since I’ve seen and the only thing I would have thought (his accent) is clearly still present as an adult and not just a racist stereotype. But it’s been a long time so maybe you can remind me?
When I saw him in this movie I was overfilled with joy he inspired me as a kid to get into building contraptions then eventually electronics he will always be my favorite goonie hands down

Loved the concept and the performances were excellent.Enjoyed the film very much as well as his reunion with Harrison. ...I was 12 in 1985....and I'm not sure which I saw first , The Goonies or Temple of Doom...regardless of sequential release of the film.
