    I think it was Bowyer that said at the start of the race that at this point, a driver could stub their toe in a dark room and still find a way to blame Chastain. Sure enough, Bell was pointing fingers in the post race.

    What a race! This new package has certainly shown its capabilities, it worked great at COTA, and made Richmond a fun watch! I enjoyed today's race, felt almost like an early 2000s Richmond race the way it was going, as well as the pacing, very fun! And how about Josh Berry and Chandler Smith??? That was a huge surprise!! Overall, 8.5/10 race imo! Oh and about the truck race, the racing was actually... GOOD? If the tracks aging begins to show up more, I think we might finally see something good again, and trucks may have proved it yesterday!

    I think it’s worth saying good job nascar. None of the major issues from last year have been problems this year. The new package has been great for the racing. The tires have been wearing but not failing. The safety seems to be better and as we saw today, the back end is softer this year.
    The racing product has been really good all year, and really the only issues have been the drivers being incompetent in the second half of the clash and the final restarts at COTA.
    Applause to NASCAR for making the changes that were needed. I think they’ll need to keep making changes to keep teams on their toes and keep the cars hard to drive. They’ve done a great job so far though.

    • @RedWingsninetyone
      @RedWingsninetyone ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnhaas2523 the manufacturers have little to nothing to do with it. It's NASCAR trying to have a closer "better racing" product. That was the entire point behind the 550 package. The current engines are capable of 900+ HP, but are given tapered spacers to reduce air flow and cut horsepower.
      Furthermore, even when NASCAR had the 550 package at most tracks, they ran 750 at short tracks. After testing for the new car, they took driver feedback and went with the highest HP package they tested which was the current 670 HP package. This improved racing at intermediate tracks. However, it meant lower HP at short tracks. Combine that with the wider tires and you get a car that is arguably too easy to drive and has too much grip at short tracks.
