Beautiful music Urbuli & co that floats and soars marvellously. The paintings suit the mood perfectly. Antoni Tàpies seems an interesting fella and thanks for the info, will check him out. 👍
Thanks man! I first came across his drawings when I was 12, I think - I remember feeling very confused by the enigmatic mark-making at first, but his odd, highly personal visual universe slowly crept its way into a corner of my pscyche soon thereafter!
Hi, thanks for the sophisticated musical treatment of the fascinating artworks. Love it when music creators put some effort into the visuals as well!!! Great, easy, modern jazz. Reminded me of a movie score c.1960s/70s!!
oh thank you very much for listening! I know what you mean, they were some pretty atmospheric jazzy soundtracks back then, I love Chinatown's score, as well as the one from Pasolini's Teorema!
@@urbulibaba I agree, Jerry Goldsmith's OST for 'Chinatown' is superb, and you can hardly go wrong with Ennio Morricone!! You mustn't get me going on films - you'll regret it!! I know LoopBasedZero is!!!
Very interesting background information about Antoni Tàpies. Really like the artwork you have shared here. Superb musical playing and tribute. Plenty of musical communication and also plenty of space for all instruments to shine. 👏👏👍👍✨✨🎶🎶
A very pleasant outing today. I had always wanted to see Tapies as practicing Tachisme, but there are very strong Informalist currents in his work, which also nods to Art Brut, and Arte Povera. Quite a unique artist!
yes indeed, the arte povera element was particularly prominent in his later work! have you seen the videos of him painting with sand, mud, marble powder and whatnot in his studio towards the end of his life? they're quite fascinating! I remember being lent an old VHS documentary on his work when I was 14 or so (he was still alive and working!), it made quite a strong impression on me...
An impressive performance as always, with the signature sound that's unique to you, Max, and Cheryl. I'm curious about the process. Did Max andCheryl record together, or who started off the first process (especially since Max played tow instruments)? The reason I'm asking is that it's so tight, as if you were all recording live simultaneously.
Sorry, Karl, I'm so unconsistent with replying to messages (I only have access to my channel -- or the internet for that matter-- while at home)!! Thanks for asking; thus far, Max's always been the one to provide the first guitar+bass track, I then record the drums, and Cheryl records the last part! I'm very happy you feel it sounds natural enough, that was the impression I was getting from Max and Cheryl's previous quartet - I actually asked Max that very question as I couldn't tell whether they were recording their pieces simultaneously or not!
What a pleasant way to start the day. Feels light and emergent like dawn
Thank you TS for that beautiful image!
