    My mechanic must be deaf! He did not hear the parking guide scream out “Wrong” and put it in backwards. For years I have had to pray my emergency brake would work or find a flat area to park, otherwise Park would not hold. Thanks to your video, I pulled the trans pan, noticed the guide was backwards, corrected it and now the car holds Park on a hill without the emergency brake. Thank you so, so much PS….I still will use the emergency brake on a hill.

    I need help. I have a family member’s 1980 GMC C15, ingot the engine running good, but I don’t have a shift linkage (from the steering column to the transmission) or a transmission fluid dipstick. The transmission is a TH400, do you know if I can purchase these parts new, or do I just have to keep looking in junkyards and on marketplace?

    Didn't show removing and replacing the seal. But I did get some insight on my transmission.

    So if the parking pawl is installed correctly what else could go wrong with the transmission not wanting to engage in park??

    Hey Shawn, i have recently put a 4x4 turbo 400 used out of an AM General Humvee into my 1985 Chevrolet K20. Doesn't want to shift into park from the column, only if assisted underneath with a pair of pliers. Ive checked and adjusted the external linkage from the steering column, any ideas? Thanks!

    Fluid levels have me thinking. In my rock crawlers, I usually have to run a couple quarts over full. Otherwise when the vehicle is verticle standing on the rear bumper it starves the pump and won’t move. I wonder if it’s the converter giving up the ability to turn the input shaft or the forward clutch not able to engage

      It would be the pump failing to keep the converter charged.
      Suction of fluid is taken up and pressure built against the pressure regulator valve which must maintain a pressure balance for correct regulation, of converter charge and then correct line pressure to supply lube circuit/clutch drum and accumulators. (short version and leaving some details out for brevity)
      When you are vertical, pickup supply is starved and the pump cavitates and the pressure relieve valve cannot be in balance, and converter charge is lost, as well as line pressure.
      I am a horizontal, straight line, go fast transmission user, so I dod not know if there is a way to keep continual supply in your sport. But there is ingenuity and perhaps a market for someone.

    Hi Shawn , I recently replaced the neutral safety switch on my 67 Camaro with the console shift. I thought I attached the slider on the flat part of shifter all the way forward but the reverse light comes on in neutral. When I attached new switch it seemed to move forward more than the beauty plate for console would allow- causing the issue?? How do I adjust this/ fix it? Thanks

      There is a retro fit switch that allows more adjustments for use with a three or four speed automatic. You didn’t mention what transmission.
