But, when you have a Bridgeport style knee mill, you have the best drill press in the world! ;) I actually sold my big drill press after buying my knee mill. I just have all of my 3 phase machines hard wired to my American Rotary phase converter.

I have a 1989 chevy c1500 with the TH400 and if I drive it easy it shifts nice but if I get on it a little it shifts hard. Do you know if this may be an easy fix? I just got the truck recently and it has 118000 miles and not sure if it's ever been rebuilt. I changed the fluid and filter. Ive been watching videos where people adjust it at the module and wanted to see what you would suggest I do? Thanks

What are common transmission forums sir? That I can learn more about my turbo 400 or ask some foolish questions myself? My shallow pan leaks and I haven’t found a solution even years ago when I swapped a new one in and gasket

Hey Sean, can I ask you... I followed your th400 800-1000hp build Summit reverse valve body, In some situations it suits my combo to leave in second gear.. so i program the air shifter to perform the 1-2 shift at .001 after trans brake release. It only TB in first gear. what do you think, am i making a problem? Thanks!

I overheard a snowmobile mechanic commenting on 2-stroke oil that the best was to have enough in the tank. His son ran the cheap crap from Wally World in his race sled. Proper ratio or injection rate was far more important than brand or type (mineral or synthetic).

Doin same car . And bought the 3/4 inch side mount motor mount kit with crossmember , having trouble getting g down able at 3deg Down , as rear end im told is supposed to be. 3deg up angle . I’m just a shadetree carport trained by a Boeing machinest . Any advice , not removing body not doing spring relocation any advice would be appreciated I’m to far on the other coast or I’d give ya right tail light assy

Thank you for posting. I bought an old truck that's been sitting for a while and just discovered that someone was probably in my transmission. The rear-low servo cover was missing two bolts, but they were in the pan. So at least thanks to your video I know what to check next. Hopefully the piston is still in there 🤔

Nice project! I bought one like the first one you showed off of Ebay. It came welded crooked, so the blade doesn't align with the shoe very well. I pointed it out to the seller, along with pictures (you can visually see it), and he didn't want to do anything to make it right. It works, just not perfectly straight if you are bending something wide. I might cut it apart and straighten it one day. You could set the base up in your bandsaw, and easily remove 1/4 inch off of each end of your shoe to relieve space for the springs.

I have a question for you. I have a turbo 400 in my car runs 980s at 137. The car works great except for when we go to push it out of the trailer. It does not want to backup. Worth of shit goes forward. Fine pushing it. I just had it serviced new clutches and stuff and it still won't push backwards worth of crap pull the driveline out. The car pushes backwards like nothing. Have any ideas?

Is there anyone in Texas who can rebuild my th400? My 85 suburban went through two 700r4’s and now 4 years later I have loss of power and reverse delays in the th400 I put in it

CK no longer provides a case saver in their kit, I just purchased this transbrake and it didn't include the case saver and it's not in the list of parts provided. JFYI

Your th400 videos are very good, refreshes my memory. Being a retired G.M. electrical/drive-ability tech. I haven't rebuilt a non electric trans in decades. But now have 3 400/475's to do. I thank you sir! Very informative!!!

I used to have a junk box full of old valve springs. Little engines have small springs, your racing Chevy engines use big springs. They stack nicely because valve springs are ground flat on both ends. You can even use modified old retainers to stack small springs on big springs. And you know valve spring quality is in a different league than hardware store springs.

Does this mean you have to remove some splines on solid input shaft to enhance fluid return to transmission seeing as though there's no return hole at the end of the input shaft?

I was born in Peoria , IL. . I grew up in that climate until 15 when my father retired from Caterpillar . Then moved to my fathers and mothers home state Arkansas . That was a huge change . I now live in Yuma , AZ as a 72 retired person . The temp yesterday was 111 degrees . We will have above 110 days for at least 2 more months . I hated the snow and cold as a young boy in Peoria . Now the difference in Yuma is the dry heat of very low humidity .

The speedmaster cover is a good unit, i dont get the boomer hate for it, its the same cover that cloyes, and the rest sell minus the mildon cover.

In the video, you mentioned something about a "vent fitting" and "cooler lines." I assume the cooler lines are a reference for a trans cooler correct? As for the vent fitting, I'm not sure if you're referring to an overflow tank, dump valve or something else
