You are seriously my fav you tuber and I just found you. I do a lot of hair from braiding, dying, trimming, sewing, quick weaves etc. you are detailed and u don’t zoom through your videos. You show everything, every angle and give every detail. That’s the best
As a Cos student- this video is literally everything. I love the way you explained everything and such amazing detail. Thank you so much and it looks beautiful!
@Bobby Hair Studio I watched all your videos for blonde hair and they are amazing. I went to my hairdresser today with 2 inch dark natural roots, armed with knowledge from your videos, and asked for my roots to be bleached the way you did them here. Showed her the process, explained it myself (since I watched it a few times).... but she insisted my roots weren't as long as shown here and that my hair would be even. I tried telling her that I would end up with hot roots and that the rest of them wouldn't lighten enough. She insisted it would be fine and that I definitelydo NOT need foils. Then when she already started bleaching them she said "Well, maybe they won't lift to the level the rest of your hair is". Not to mention I go for a cool toner at the end always (not ashy, pearly). I think no-one here will be surprised that I've come out of the salon with orangish-yellow longer roots, in some places 1/2 inch hot roots, and now I wonder - is this salvageable? She didn't want to use foils *at all*, so the beach was just drying out on my head. Obviously, I can't go back in with bleach soon because I want my hair to stay as healthy as possible, and I might have to find someone else to fix it, but can this be fixed? Any pointers? Sorry for the longer message.
That is some serious skill 👏 ❤️ I dreaded doing similiar things when I did hair because it was so stressful with the myriad of ways it can go wrong. I really admire how precise you are. The end result is amazing.
Thanks to your videos I used less vol on my hair despite the info I got from other youtubers and websites, and it totally worked out! Even for my bleach wash I only used 7 vol, which obviously was even less than 7 since diluted, and it worked well! I had some more orangy spots from my previous bleaching session and put 20 vol on that and can definitely feel that it is more damaged. So i'm really happy I didn't do the bleach wash with the often recommend 20 vol on my entire head. That is really just thanks to you! I love my new purely white blonde hair, that is in far better condition than expected. :p
This was fabulous. But that takes much longer than a touch up. I wouldn't have that extra time unless I knew in advance that she had gone so long. Loved it.
You did a beautiful professional job! I'm watching because I went to beauty school and I unfortunately missed out on hair coloring but learned perms very well and my mother who was one of my instructors was amazing with hair coloring and mixing different toners but she's not here now to do my hair so I don't know how I can do this to see al around my head carefully and not overlap?
Won't the foils in the back need to be pulled out after being in the foils for so long? Does the bleach stop working? Do you use a lower developer? I didnt know you can leave foils in for an hour and a half? Looks amazing! Just curious because I thought you would need to spray the back with water or rinse them out befor doing the roots?
Schwarzkopf (and other brands) has a porosity equalizer (spray primer) - do you ever use one? I feel like that would be helpful on those long, really light processes
Darling god bless you you did it with details I like you cause you are so honestly I enjoy your video thank you dear plz keep going 😊 you inspired me and others as well
I am a natural level 2, and have been bleaching my hair to a level 9/10. I use the same bleach as you and Wella permanent color. It takes me about 30min to apply bleach on roots then let it sit for 45min. I have SO MUCH breakage. I have lost 12 in of length in the past 6 months. Is this just the reality of being blonde when you’re naturally level 2. Will my hair just never grow? Any suggestions please I love being blonde but I miss my hair being down to my hips and now it’s at my shoulders 🥺🥺🥺
you might be overlapping with highlighted hair. What level of bleach do you use? When i do my own hair i dont have any breakage but as soon as i go for highlights to the salon that's it - i get so many flyaways from overlapped hair that it is just sad.
hello! amazing video i really loved the result💗did you bleach her overgrown roots only one time? i had to bleach my mom's hair 2 times with 30 vol developer to get rid of all the yellow and then i was able to apply toner but i feel like it is more damaging that way😭
Wow! What a well-explained video for bleaching. I wonder what your take is on bleaching roots? Do you find it 'easier' to not overlap on extended roots or is it easier on month-old roots? It almost seems safer to bleach long dark roots than to just have the tiny space of short roots. Thanks again!
Lay person question: I am hearing about breakage if overlapping beyond line of previous bleach and its worse with 4 inches of regrowth vs 2 inches, Why?
Something that I don’t understand is how the very first foils were put in an hour and 45 mins before the last foil were put in. How can the hair in the first foils take being processed for like 3 hours?
I Never time my lightener. It’s not like a colour formulation that needs 45 mins of processing and then it’s done. Lightener is just something I check on every few minutes until it’s the desired level of lift
Great video but I’m very confused on why you spent all the time and charged for a color correction when you say later in the video that you could just apply it all at once and it would lift even since her roots are very light? Genuinely curious
It would still be a colour correction in that case as well because of how long the roots are. There are more steps involved in doing larger roots like this than doing the typical 1/2-2/3 inch that are included in a standard bleach root touch up.
Real snow queen. You right they always do too much of a cool blonde which is too unnatural and boring. Like this is good and natural and very super nice.
Whilst I understand that if there is extra hours put into it you need to charge for those hours BUT charging this as a colour correction is just daylight robbery. There is little to no correcting needing to be done here, no problem solving/trial and error, this client literally has the dream root colour to take to platinum blonde. I mean how can you be using a 7vol and call it a colour correction. Sorry that’s just wrong to charge her that.
Those ends were totally diffetent color than the new growth. Those mid to ends were warm while new growth was completely cool. For the amount you charged and then calling it color correcting, that should have been all platinum blonde cool. Not warm.
Most of the time yes! If I manage to get a lift that’s perfect that matches the rest of her hair (if she doesn’t have old toner staining or purple shampoo staining) then I can use just purple shampoo
While I appreciate you explaining everything the way that you did, was it really necessary to shame your client for waiting so long before she came in? There's something called a pandemic going on after all.
@@BobbyHairStudio it was the way that you said it. Maybe that's just your usual tone, but it definitely comes across as you being very annoyed. These past two years have been difficult enough to navigate without being irritated over a little extra hair growth.

you can either pull them out, or wait for the bleach to dry out or level your developers! any of these options work!
This is great info. Do you add 6 volume developer to your toner? Also, I can’t find the 9.5-5 color anywhere? What’s the actual name?
Beautifully done!! What is the toning proportions you use? 🥰🙏🏻
Love it when can you do my hair ?
So was that an all over blonde? Did she have highlights at the beginning? You did a great job. It's beautiful.

What toner should I use if I don’t want grayish but a very white blonde ?
Thank you!! For white blondes I always use 9-1 and 9-55 to neutralize the yellow 2:1
@@BobbyHairStudio from which brand?
@@BobbyHairStudio could you please explain? Like do i put the whole dye of each or half of them ?

Thank you!! The colourful foils are Framar, silver ones are always Framar or Babyliss and the bobby pin ones are Foilme

ahhh so satisfactory! perfect results
Thanks a lot for your tips.Very much appreciated.Great iob.
Also do I use a 30 volume on hair level 7 or 6 more like a 6 level! Please will you send me the toner formula you used xxx💯 stunning

yes i only need to bleach once! i go low and slow. blondme and 20 vol will lift anyone from level 2-6 and a 7vol will lift level 7-9
Amazing results.Love it.

After this much time with bleach roots, I don’t find either one difficult, I just don’t do roots under an inch long!
Interesting I’ve never seen that done before with the foils
So you just skip the toner part we all was waiting and you said you forget which one you used? Can you tell us the toner formula you used?
Love the technique!
Thanks 😍😍
Lay person question: I am hearing about breakage if overlapping beyond line of previous bleach and its worse with 4 inches of regrowth vs 2 inches, Why?

Love ur education videos 💜
thank you so much
So - quick question: The foils at the back had been on for an hour and a half prior to completing the roots at the front and then the back?
Something that I don’t understand is how the very first foils were put in an hour and 45 mins before the last foil were put in. How can the hair in the first foils take being processed for like 3 hours?
Same, I wish she or anyone answered because I really want to know
You are amazing, thank you for sharing ❤
Do you think adding conditioner to the previously lightened hair would help to avoid overlapping with a service like this??
It can, but it’s something I have never tried
Beth Minardi in new York does the conditioner on previously lightened or colored hair, to lessen the damage in case of overlapping.
Fabulous!🤓
After you did all foils how long did you wait till you did root double checking part and after double checking how much longer?
I Never time my lightener. It’s not like a colour formulation that needs 45 mins of processing and then it’s done. Lightener is just something I check on every few minutes until it’s the desired level of lift

A regular root touch up for a bleach out is $150-160cad.

Try to cut your foils in half. You save so much foil that way. I try to cut my foils to the amount of regrowth.
