  • At TEDxTampaBay, Mike shared his powerful story of loss and healing and how yoga and meditation connects to something greater in all of us.
Co-owner of Inner State Yoga in St. Petersburg and YogaforMen.com, 20 year health and fitness industry veteran Mike Fecht took the healing benefits of a yoga and meditation practice to create a new life and purpose after a personal tragedy in 2009. Working with professional athletes of the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA, as well as the Miami Dolphins team, Mike uses yoga to help men improve athletic performance and even transform their lives.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Wonderful presentation. Some years ago I began a yoga practice that changed me and my life for the better. Unfortunately, I channeled all the good into my job, sacrificed myself, and as a natural result my world began to crumble. I am back practicing yoga, meditating, being open to possibilities and everything is once again falling into place and looking up. This time around I will not waste the gifts or my life. Thank you for sharing!

I had the opportunity of taking yoga classes from Mike in Atlanta in 2012, undoubtedly the hardest year in my life. Mike, thank you for helping me along on my path.

Listening to your journey brought me to tears, thank you for sharing. My wife and I recently found a baby turtle (actually a tortoise) in our yard. It was upside-down fighting for it's life while a roadrunner was picking it apart. Somehow he survived and he is now part of our family. We love him dearly. The symbolic nature of the turtle coming into our lifes truly resonates as well. Life's an amazing journey - be well my friend! Todd/Karen (Palm Springs CA)

MIKE, I WAS JUST DRAWN TO THIS TALK. I THANK YOU KINDLY FOR THAT. I am teaching mindfulness and wellbeing using Yoga and Dance and it’s amazing what impact The Yolab is having. I’m inspired as I teach the need to “pay attention to Whispers” in my sessions of yoga. Bless you for the generosity of sharing. Radhakrishnan

Well... it wasn't yoga or turtle. Actually there is very clear thing on the surface of this, now happy, life - it was God. He knew, He was watching, so He's rewarded this man. Little signs, little things in our distress and all our pains - it's Him. So it's our business - to trust Him or not. He does. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him."

Wow, great speach. And he must be such a wonderful father and rolemodel. People coming to him in grief are very lucky to find him. If only we all would take a step back, start meditating and let go of our egos, .... What a paradise this world would be.

Appreciate many things about the message and topic. I found it distracting that he's wearing a hat and can't see his eyes. I think a lot of a presentation and connection to a speaker is done through being able to see their eyes as their talking. Maybe I'm the only one

No, I'm not bald. I just felt more comfortable in my hat as I tend to sweat under the lights. Hope the talk resonated more than the distraction.
