I love how effortless Anton Poddyachy's Double bass and blast beats appear.
Hes severely underrated
It is because he's russian. 🤣
dude is a machine
WORD!
I think Anton is the best in accuracy, composition, sound and concept in general.
5 Stars!!
Everyone at the office was surprised to find out Matthew Greiner was a drummer in a metal band...
Best drummer on this list by a country mile
*Christian metal band lol
@@nigelproctor farce. Grammar Nazi.
@@CarlJohnson-rt7bc meeeeeeeeeh, Chris tho.....
@@ibuildshelves does it matter? lmao
If i had a dime for every time Chris Tuner blinked while drumming, i'd be poor
im glad i saw chris turner here. hes absolutely a beast.
He is so fucking good but his technique is so weird. Also his cymbals are so low, it looks like he's 8ft tall or some shit lmao
hes tall aaaaffffff
Drummin Djently it’s cause it’s jazz inspired
He's probably the best drummer to date
He's so dope but I had to make sure Aaron Kitcher was here more
2:48 that gravity blast tho!
Jayden Mason is an absolute Machine
Just glad you put Chris Turner in here. His new playthrough of Escapist tops this easily.
Turner is just a fucking flatout monster. period.
Kody Cline the Benzaiten playthrough might be his best one imo but they're all completely insane
Quite aggravating how no one is talking about Arron Kitcher’s double bass. Probably the fastest double bass I’ve ever heard..that’s preformed by a human, and I’ve been listening to Deathcore for years. It sounds impossible but he does it
Lots of people been talking about it.
Idk I mean it's prolly cuz bro is literally just vibrating his feet super fast and he's not really ever doing full strokes when he's going that fast lol. Watch the cuntcrusher video and pay attention to the beaters during the double bass sections lol. Fast≠great lol especially when u sacrifice technique hehe he's mental on the kit tho that's for sure
i can do it too give me a cookie! i can also triplet on one foot, EITHER foot, give me TWO cookies. ima BIG dick boi
EDIT: and for any drummers reading this, the trick i find to be for the hard hits with heel toe is to run low spring tension, and have ur beater out real long. you gotta find a balance, but it's there somewhere. i think it works cuz the weight of the beater acts like the resistance the springs would give, and the longer travel gives harder hits, and yet the low spring tension lets it bounce or something? idk. but it works for me. i just say this cuz "why not" and cuz everyone thinks they need crazy high spring tension when all that does is set ur ankles on fire. i can go brrrrrrrrr forever and with strong hits, on the cheapest pedals ($100 SP-pedals are OP, plz nurf).
The bass drum is just one drum, though.
@@andyhoughtaling6319think he meant double pedal
Alex Grind from Despised Icon is also a beast
The beast of all beasts
Gavin Harrison kills them all.
@Hans Wurst hannes Grossman should be on the list, along with Marco minneman, Lyle Cooper, etc
@Hans Wurst if you like Halpern (incredible drummer) check Travis orbin, Billy rymer, Chris pennie etc
Dude....alex has his entire kit in near constant use with insane fills and blasts AT THE SAME TIME in every song nearly. He's a monster
You didnt even show the best part of Kitcher's playthrough. Cowards.
Thank God Matt Greiner was on this list, by far my favorite drummer of all time!
Matthew Greiner*
Сколько же талантливых чуваков, а главное трудяг!
Clicked just to make sure Chris Turner was on here.
Lee Stanton from infinite death EP has to be some of my favorite drum beats I've ever heard put together. All these guys are fuckin sick
I’m upset that Aaron form Rings of Saturn isn’t on here
Aaron Kitcher (IA)
Lee Stanton (TAIM)
Anton Poddyachy (STP)
special mention: Chris Turner [OAA] (for his wonky face)
Does nobody knows Adam Gray from Texas In July? He should also be in the video!
Exactly!!
Hes actually August burns red's drum tech now. Just met him the other night.
He's drum tech since a while now & yeah it's quite obviously, but ABR, TIJ & TOTA have been friends since their early start in their music career. :) Adam is a really nice person. :)
Adam is a beast with the tricks.
Lennard Oberhofer AGREED
2:02 anyone else who hear a crash cymbal, but he doesn't hit the cymbal???
nah he hit the ride
Chris Turner reminds of a blind guy looking somewhere else when you're talking to him.
When I listen to Chris turner play I always just think he’s playing random shit, like a solo for every song. But he’s not. Idk how he remembers every little cymbal slam and snare hit. It’s insane
Chris wins on technicality, Aaron on speed, but groove has to go to Matthew.
I don’t know if you can give Aaron the speed token bc he programs most of his drums
Brayden Fisher__ Yeah but did you even see the video? On the record they may be programmed, but he can obviously play the drums pretty well
@@braydenfisher3307 and they r playing prog tech death core/metal
And other drummers in this video have much easier drums.
Most of prog tech deathcore bands always use drum machines. This is the genre.
And Kitcher is doing more than good
@@braydenfisher3307 watch the super old Infant annihilator video where Aaron does drum covers and then rethink the comment
That creepy smile Chris Tuner had though
Ben Roars the dude has a constant " wtf am I doing again" look, but he kills it
I thought he was blind for a minute
I could watch Matt Greiner play all day. Dude is a beast and his drumming is flawless.
No Aaron Stechauner. He should definitely be on here.
tonym1281 truth
Aaron Oshea Imo I'd have him above Aaron Kitcher just from live performance. I've seen AK in play thoughts and cover, black tongue and the shitty acoustic kit he destroyed. He deserves on here to. But AS proves it live and new album. But both deserve to be on here. Love Stanton, Chris Turner. Aaron Stechauner is very underrated tho imo.
tonym1281 yeah i like Aaron Stechauner a lot, but as drummers just in general i think Dave Mcgraw-Cattle decapitation, and Dominator from Dark Funeral are my favorites
Aaron Oshea Hannes Grossman is probably my fave. McGraw is incredible, Lyle Cooper, IDK if he's still with them Alex Grind Despised Icon, Keven Bedene makes it look easy, Tre Williams Dying Fetus awesome Dominator is beast, Hellhammer, Frosts work with 1349, Underrated Lyle Cooper, Tony Leaurano, Gabe Seeber, whoever plays with Spawn of Possession, Flo Mournier absolute beast with unique sond one of my faves.i know I went outside DeathCore just love drummers
tonym1281 im a big fan of Trey Williams also
In my humble opinion I think Cameron Losch and Sam Applebaum are crazy talented drummers as well. My favourite drummer is probably Nic Pettersen though!
WOW! Anton Poddyachy and Chris Turner, Geeeeeez!!!! Killin' it. Extremely impressive.
Matt Greiner is the most genius by far, his drumming skills are out of this world...imo always..
Yup
Infant Annihilator & Aversions Crown 😍
I appreciate you putting Matt Greiner from ABR on here man. Not to mention he was playing one of my favorites by them. Obviously he doesn't necessarily fit into the more extreme side of the genre but he's badass none the less!
thank fuck aversions crown drummer made it into this list.
The clarity of matts China when the breakdown hits.. oof love it
I met Chris Turner at a show back in April. He's an amazing drummer and a super cool guy.
Tomas haake - Meshuggah playing bleed is still in my top 10 all-time drummers, an yes I understand this is a different genre, but man there are alot of greats. Like Jason bittner from shadows fall. Dude has 8+ championships for guitar center drum contest..
Nicholas Barker. His Dimmu borgir and Old Man's Child work was just insane.
Yo I just read that comment about not having Lorna shore on here. New album is sick. I was waiting for him to pop up but apparently guys a rookie lol
yeah his drumming on their albums is insane! but apparently he's a bit sloppy live? I'm not sure, I've seen some really good videos and some sloppy ones so idk haha
Hmm sloppy live. That would really upset me. A drummer that can't match their stuff live pisses me off. A lot of times it's an endurance thing. Can't play thru the show and get sloppy at the end
+Jake just saw them monday, definitely sloppy live
Caleb Pierce when I seen them it was spot on. So maybe he's plagued like Kevin lane was in whitechapel, had a few bad days and got his reputation fucked by it.
Lorna Shores guy isnt really a drum rookie, just a rock/metal rookie. He started in jazz/classical rock(pre 70s stuff)
The last sentence of your description is so cute😍 by the way love you too
Matt reminds me of my high school history teacher. Gym teacher, too.
Where’s Alex Rüdinger? That guy is a genius. More than any of the guys on this video.
Is Rüdinger even part of the “core” genre? Ive always considered Faceless to be prog/death and Good Tiger to be alt metal
Have you properly checked out Chris Turner? He’s in my opinion in a league of his own. Rüdinger is certainly in the very top of all non-Chris Turner human beings...
@@DogBoots77 Gosh, learn how to restructure a sentence for clarity, dawg....... Also maybe pick up a few punctuation notes
Alex Rudinger doesn’t play deathcore or metalcore, lmao.
@@frelopermanboy7426 check the band he used to play with Cognizance
Welp, I was clearly sleeping on Aversions Crown. That song is sick and the drumming is unreal.
Mauricio Villalón!! Tremendo bataco mexicano 🤘🏽 jamás espere verlo en éste video pero muy bien qué se le reconozca su trabajo..
A mi también me sorprendió, que chingon
Alex Bent from Trivium, ex Battlecross deserves a mention I believe. One of the best modern metal drummers around in my opinion, even if he isn't considered a 'core' drummer. Keep rocking people of TH-cam! 🔥🤘🙌👊👍👏🎶🔥
I agree IF he was in a "core" band. None the less Alex is one hell of a good drummer "core" or no "core" he's just amazing. 🤟✌️💥
I have only heard several of the bands at all and am not a big fan of the style of music but I love the heavy drums. That said I could clearly see there is something special about Chris Turner. It was not just fast and furious drum shredding. It was as if I was watching him trying to solve an impossible maths problem, progressing slowly but surely.
Need Danny terchin (ex Oceano)
And Alex Rudinger (threat signal and several other bands)
Was not a fan of the filter, but it probably made everything look "better". The level of talent here is amazing though. I've never actually seen any fast drummers play. Still new to the scene. Thanks for showing these guys!
Which OAA song is was featured in this list? I've never listened to them before and that was sick!
Parker Rognrud blood brothers
Parker Rognrud go check them out! Best Band in the whole metalcore/deathcore scene out there imo
If you like OAA, you should also check out After the Burial
Anything O.A.A is dope
Lee stanton is brilliant.
Too bad he isn't part of TAIM anymore :(
Although their new drummer is also a beast :)
Dr Genki I love their new drummer but damn I miss having a role model from my own country :(
Nic Pettersen From Northlane #1
He isn't that good. Chris is technically way better than Nic
Hes great, but you wouldnt be able to tell on Alien. His work on Singularity and Node tho
Damn, Deathmask sounds pretty sick! Now I got a new band to check out!
The slaughter to prevail's snare rhythm is a great guide to knowing when your popcorn is ready.
mark is a beast with his double bass but chris turner is a god on drums 11/10.
the look on chris' face is like " I also cant believe im playing this"
BTBAM went the progressive route but I think Blake Richardson needs credit for the drumming on Alaska!
Absolutely, Blake is a BEAST
Blake tops all of these
They are all amazing af. Let's give credit
Mark mironov is killing it lately. Dudes super impressive!
terry Andrews nice to know we have a Gambino fan into this shit too
98izzark into everything
terry Andrews Same here
did they mean best or fastest at blast beats? lol Matt Greiner would mop the floor with these dudes if it came to actual skill and technique
AK Custom for sure. I think Matt Greiner ans Chris Turner were the best on the last.
I thought the same, theyre all fast at blasts and db but chris turner and matt greiner are they guys kicking ass here
AK Custom what about Mario Duplantier?
No my dude it's overall here, Aaron Kitcher kicksass here he got both technique and skill AND IS FAST AS FUCK!!!
You misspelled Aaron Kitcher
I only clicked on this video to make sure Aaron Kicther was on here lol
Same😂
same
same lmao
Aaron is a computer and all triggers.
Same dude
Maw has the best blastbeat and he makes it looks so easy!
Wow an actually decent list agree with mostly everything on here
Chris turner sin duda porque es super veloz y no repite lo mismo a cada momento, tiene más dinámica en las manos
Greiner is the best technical wise. He does things that are unique as well, everyone else is just super talented at foot and blast beats.
correct, by best they must just mean fast. Greiner is a beast, and he wrights all his stuff. going to see them live in a mon, cant wait.
This really turns my crank!!
Glad Jayden Mason made the list. He's a total beast!
Aaron kitcher Is a fucking beast....the Absolute best drummer
He really is
Actually, he programs MIDI for some parts, if you watch his play through of Cuntcrusher on an acoustic set you can see him straining. He's good, but he needs help with some parts
not really 😂 He makes drum beats he can't even play live...
darkassassin 4730 Lee Stanton is twice the drummer kitcher is
Tormentor 801 ohhhhh
if Chris Turner wasnt here i feel like the list wouldve been voided
Aaron Kitcher has amazing and brilliant combos that no other drummer has, he is in his natural habitat when he plays the drums, he is naturally creative
Even though the double bass is fake
@@iminsane417 have u seen his live playing this song?
He can easily proof that he can play this double bass
Check on YT
@@k4shey thank you sir finally someone who actually looks before they accuse
People act like because Infant Annihilator is an internet band that he doesn't also drum for Black Tongue which plays live shows all the time
@@chrissears5482 Never been able to get into Black Tongue. Tried a few times.
I love Kyle Brownlee of Counterparts, easily one of my all time favorite drummers out there!
Matt Greiner is my favorite
What about Davied diepold?
Old Shredderhand he's above the core scene, c'mon, man
Awesome list.
Chris for the win so on Point and great beat
Nice, people still mistake playing fast with actually being good
What Infant Annihilator song was that?
xlilxlegendgaming 77 thank you!
Let's just admit metal drumming has expanded far beyond the realm that top 10 or 100 can't really capture the true beauty n skills of metal drumming every sub genre will give you more than you 20 top notch drummer
That was nice. Thanks.
Chris Turner is my favorite. Has the most on point timing I've ever seen! And where is David leche from as blood runs black??
You mean Hector Lech from ABRB?
Aaron is the best there in talent
But Chris is my favourite also he is fucking close
Chris Turner is insane. He looks so happy too, like he wants to smile but doesn't wanna break concentration
Good to see Lee here!
I'm missing Austin Archey (Lorna Shore) and the drummer from Cattle Decapitation (forgot the name haha) on this list.
Benno Henniger Dave McGraw its the drummer for Cattle Decpitation, but he cant put him there cuz Cattle isnt core
Yoel Roman they used to be grindcore, so he could've put the drummer at that time lol
Vincent Motionless well thats true
Benno Henniger cattle decamp is death metal
Vincent Motionless nope. They use to be goregrind
Aaron Stechauner? David McGraw? And Daivis from Here Comes The Kraken is missing as well imo.
My Sins Don't Bother
Davin is not on the core scene. But i agree, he is awesome
My first death core drummer that I loved was Alex Gind from Despised icon . He is still one of the best !
So many talanted underrated musicians.
Chris Turner is easily the best. He's the best by a mile frankly. This is the first time I've seen him and it's so easy to tell this dude is doing so much more than the rest. He's not just playing fast or skillfully, he's doing shit that is in another league rhythmically, and he's also insanely ambidextrous too. They're all good but he was the only one that really impressed me
How is everyone saying how much of a beast Aaron Kitcher is when the video is sped up? Chris Turner actually IS that fast
Buns & Bass no he actually is that fast, it isn't sped up...
U can see his hair moving to fast it's sped up lol
Justice Gates no it's not. Have u even heard the actual song? It's the same exact speed, it's not sped up
How is the video sped up, enlighten me. But Chris is a fucking beast aswell.
Nathan Pickering maybe thw actual song has it sped up to?
I love that Lee Stanton was wearing Aversions Crown shorts
I think Chris should make his own sock brand. Lol
Should have just been 8 clips of Chris Turner
But on a serious note should have taken out Matt Greiner and Chris Turner and just made it best drummer in the deathcore scene then you could put in Andrew Baird of Fallujah who's an absolute monster and Cameron Losch from Born of Osiris
Anup Sastry >>
Chris Turner is super impressive , very innovative.
Agreed. I love his drumming. I just hate the vocalist of his band haha
Which song was Anton playing by Slaughter to prevail ?
chris turner looks like a robot :') but very fking nice playing.
Aaron is raping those drums 🤘🔥
hE uSEs tRigGErs tHo
Still fast as fuck boi
@@Randybobandy024 alt caps cringe
Anton poddyachy is sick! That double bass is so freakin fast i cant believe that speed holy shnoiks
Great video! Although I am curious how Matt greiner made the list and not Pablo vivieros
Aaron Kitcher is the best but Navene from Animosity and Alex from Despised Icon have my favorite technical styles
Nevene was also in Animals as Leaders. Believe he has a new project as well but I've cared less and less since his drumming in animosity.
@@VillageIdiotFs Same dude, just not the same
Aaron Kitcher sure knows how to program drums. Where's the live shots of him doing it?? You fools think he's so good but he's just tricking you
Matt van den Ham he has videos of him drumming dumb fuck
Uprizedawn21 that are all jump cut to fuck all and over dubbed with the studio track
Y’all do realize that there’s actually a love video of him playing cuntcrusher live right? Granted it’s on a shitty set he still pulls it off.
He doesn’t program but he does record on an ekit which imo is harder to play
AssistanttoRM but a lot easier to shift to being on time in a DAW when you get sloppy
There isn’t a single bit of sweat on Aaron Kitchers face and that astonishes me
they are really cool
Anton poddyachy stole Lars’ st anger snare
Orenda Music first thought best thought hahaha
I was looking for Lars, what happened?
we need john longstreth ( origin ) here
Andyoaryoga John is an absolute god, but Origin is so far above every "core" band. Same goes for most of the top death metal drummers.
Jayden is really fucking awesome, saw aversions crown live with shadow of intent and it was brutal
Anton has an interesting technique. Never seen that one before
