      without batrium toolkit and BMS these videos would be boring haha Can't wait to see what else is to come from them!! Exciting times ahead I'd say.

    Nice work, people always ask for full capacity tests but very few actually do them!
    5:45 That timelapse was fun to watch, interesting to see how it decreases over time and those few packs completely dropped out fast at the end.
    7:30 holy crap that's a lot of maths

      Going to upload the whole 64 hour timelapse at 100x speed, about 40 min long but some might want to see more detail. No one has called me on my mathing either so looks like I did well lol

    I noticed a bug with the Batrium kWh display - it wraps after 12.87 kWh so can't display the full 30kWh
    Suggest Jaron could increase the precision and use more bits for it.

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Issue was 1. Cell went flat, causing no comms to watchmon toolkit 2. Found a bug in the firmware that caused the shunt not to reset after it goes to 0% SOC - 20min on the skypes to Jaron and he was able to find the issue, make a plan to upgrade firmware & test on his test bench. Fix was to change the SOC level - save - then it's reset and away to go again.

    Have you thought of making small say 5 to 10 cell piggy packs that you can fit to your lazy packs? This way you don't have to dismount and knock cells out and replace, could save you some time and handy if you need quick fix. Might look a tad messy but would work.

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @Cjudd001
    @Cjudd001 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Reality is that although the Batrium looks nice it will never handle your charge rate capacity of your your solar input. The only way you can handle those inbalanced cells with those charge rates are higher power resistors. Im working on my on balancing circuit using some 100W 0.2ohm resistors.. That will bleed 21 Amps.. That is still not enough when you get high charge rates and one bank gets there earlier than everyone else.
    Nice test. Love your work.
    Use the batrium only for monitoring and not for balancing unless you modify them to switch a larger resistor as said.

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I beg do differ, Batrium works SWEET - but throwing 150 charging amps at it.... will find issues fast. I was brutal trying to get them chared as fast as possible.

    • @Cjudd001
      @Cjudd001 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      1.7amps max bleed isnt really appropriate for 600AH cells..
      Even with a 20amp charger for eg... If you have 20amps going through your batteries and one bank hits its 4.2V limit you will soon run out of bleed capacity if the other batteries havent caught up.
      Your charger will be pushing for your CV limit forcing more bleed through the highest charged batteries discharge resistor until the rest catch up and the the current starts to drop..
      Thats just my thoughts.. especially when dealing with lithium. :)

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the 'cells' are 150ah so perfectly suited for the job I feel (and has been my experience) Chargers ramp down when they are top of charge so never pumping more than a handful of amps by that time. My issue was the dumb way I did it in order to get a result faster

  • @stelaboys
    @stelaboys 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    was thinking, its dangerous i know, but some sells cut off at 3v so while the packs that dropped really fast might have cells that are cutting out as they dropped below 3v giving a miss reading as the packs get smaller with cells cutting out. just a thought.

      Longmon or Cell Monitor is attached to each 'P' pack and is the balance and temp monitor - watchmon is the hardware brain I guess you'd call it making the longmons smart and controlling all the other stuff.

    Can you mix 1700mah with 1900's, and 2200s? What is the lowest you can use in a mixed cell block?

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You sure can - few points you have to check tho - if a cell is 3300mah new and when tested it's 1800 mah you wouldn't use it. You can use the cell data base to find the required cell info secondlifestorage.com/celldatabase.php but if the cell was new and 1800mah & after testing it was 1700 it's good to go.. Just make sure you build balanced packs with repackr secondlifestorage.com/repacker.php too keep the built cells more balanced

    Couple of questions. I learned the hard way that what often looks good on eBay is a lie. I did order 4 batteries the other day from an eBay seller that the price was good. The weighed out at 45 grams and tested at a solid 2100 mah. They were though button top batteries and if i remember one of your videos it was mentioned that button top was a sure sign of repackaged batteries. I was thinking of buying a couple hundred of these batteries. Should I steer clear of these even though they check out pretty good. Also how do you connect the top and bottom black plastic organizers together so everything doesn't come apart? Thanks

    • @HBPowerwall
      @HBPowerwall  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey guys a complete noob here,im having some doubts on 18650s
    Im thinking about making a powerwall and confused on some things
    One of those things is that what would happen if we connect batteries of different capacities in parallel and charge them as a single system, with bms within the multiple series connection (making multiple parallel and 4 series connections to make 12v battery pack)
    Such as connecting 2000mAh battery with 2600mAh battery
