I was in line to meet him when he was prev married and RIGHT before I could walk up to them, they took a 3 hour lunch and I couldnt stay. I was sad. I went to his memorial in Evans City in 2017 of that year he died and went to the Living Dead Weekend. It was a good time. Good vid, Sean.
The man who made me become a filmmaker. I'll be forever indebted to him for the inspiration and encouragement his movies give me. Fabulous stuff as always Sean, huge fan from Ireland here!
I was at that convention. April 29th 2017 at Motor City Nightmares. Was so happy to get to spend 5 minutes talking and meeting George. I got a picture with him that I cherish.
I'm surprised he's not buried in Pittsburgh somewhere but that cemetery is perfectly dark and spooky. Dawn of the Dead "78 will always be the greatest zombie movie ever made.
What's sad for me,I met him in 2017 with Tom Savini at a horror convention in Dallas. I had no clue that was his last one. Appreciate people while they are here now...
I was playing Dying Light one day and they had just added a large spray painted tribute to George under a bridge in the game and I had no idea that they had done this. It was a punch in the gut moment. Very touching I thought and a sad reminder that he was gone.
Rest In Peace I worked with him many times. In 4 different movies, I talked with him the most on "Survival of the Dead" I was one of The O'Flynnns. But the most fun was when I was Goth/Horror Rock / Dancing to The Misfits Live on the set of "Bruiser" . He will be missed.
I was at the Flashback Horror convention in 2004 for the Day of the Dead reunion and when George walked in the room it was like the air got sucked out. People just froze in awe of this gentleman and the icebreaker was the actor that played Steele started kissing his hand yelling please put me in the new one PLEASE!!! RIP to the icon. ❤ Truely deeply missed by all.
Scott on tape❤ perfect combo! I’ve scared for you at the first time when I saw a man behind you , moving near the graves 😄 during the video; every time there isn’t anybody around.. 🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️🧟♂️ this time not !!😄
Great video about George A Romero's grave site, thank you for the details. Toronto, but I agree, Pittsburgh, PA was his main home for such a long time and where he filmed some big zombie films. Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead are two of my favorite horror films. Thanks.
wow thats crazy you got to go to universal with him I bet that's a great memory for you and i agree he should have been buried in Pittsburgh. Thanks for sharing this with us Sean this was really cool.
This was really awesome Sean. I am sad I never got to meet the man and I had no idea he was buried in Toronto. Thank you for this awesome tribute to George. Another amazing video. Thank you for all you do and I hope you are well.
I've always felt like George should've got more respect during his time. He got a lot of respect from the horror community, no doubt but the community of cinema itself never treated him well. They used him and stole all his ideas. I can never watch the Walking Dead tv show because at the end of the day that show owes a debt to him and I just don't think whatever respect they have given to him was not enough. It's his genre, it belongs to him. I was excited to play the remake of resident evil 2 because that meant they were gonna bring back the classic Romero zombies. That's how much I respect the man, I prefer his version of zombies over everybody elses.
Great little video! Romero is a pioneer of not only zombies but indie films in general. He paved the way for lots of great independent film directors. Absolute legend! Great job documenting this
This was a fantastic video, I agree with you Sean, I was surprised that he wasn’t buried in Pittsburgh. Anytime I think of Pittsburgh I think of George and Tom. That’s so great that you got to know him. Dawn is my favorite George film as well 🤘🏻🧟🤘🏻
I always just assumed he would have been in Pittsburgh too. Dawn is in my top 5 of all time faves. Still waiting for a hi def re release of the Anchor Bay Ultimate Edition.
Nice to see the final resting place of the greatest horror movie director that ever lived. Thanks for posting, Sean. Rest in Peace, George A. Romero. Much love and respect from Ireland.
That's a quote from Shakespeare's Hamlet on George's grave. He should have a statue of that shot of him surrounded by all the zombies from Day of the Dead.
Great video Sean. The plot George is in is beautiful. I love seeing the cemeteries out that way. Nice to see Scott out there with you too. Makes it twice as nice.
Thank you again Sean. Always eye opening, but a bit tear jerking with this one… George is one of the greatest ever. Night and Dawn will always live on.
Night of the living dead and dawn of the dead are my favourite movies of all time, I’m in Toronto a never knew he was buried here! Always assumed he’d be in Pittsburgh. Might have to take a visit to pay my respects.
George A Romero deserves all the accolades he gets. I was born in '66, and I remember seeing Night of the living dead in the early '70's. My parents would sneak us kids into the drive in under a blanket on the floor of the back seat, I must have been in grade three. I don't think I fully understood movies were only make believe back then, but HOLY SHIT I spent most of the movie under the blanket sticking my head out now and then wondering what TF am I watching... It was all I could talk about at school for a week. Also remember seeing Jaws, Duel, and some movie about a lady that turned into a black widow spider and webbed up everyone that pissed her off haha. Such memories. Drive ins were fkin awesome!! Kids these days have NO idea what they've missed out on.
I met Mr. Romero at a horror convention in Orlando before I was into autographs. 6 months later he passed away. That's one autograph I wished I got. He was real nice.
@@AnnieBoBannie421 This was before I was into autographs. I think I was in fear of going up to someone that I looked up to and getting crushed. Now I meet the people I saw in the movies and everyone of them has been great. RIP George.
George A Romero was definitely the king of zombie movies . RIP George. I thought it was cool , when my son was little he actually knew who George was before I even knew .. The guy in the back of Sean at first i thought he was Jason from Friday the 13 😂, Thank you Sean for bringing all of us along with you on this cool adventure . i like your intro . new to your channel from Scott on Tape . appreciate it big original classic horror fan here
God Bless Mr. George Romero, He wrote, produced great scarry/horror movies. I still watch his movies today 2023. One of a kind man. Rest In Peace Sir. 💙💯❤😱
I was at that Detroit convention. I waited decades for him to come to my area. I had a Dawn poster that was signed by everyone but George and Gaylen. I was finally able to get both their autographs. A few months later he was gone.
Great to see my favourite TH-camrs together, at George romero resting place great producer , thanks again stay safe out there mr b uk 🇬🇧 Robin hood county 👍
He was the Best. I wish I could've met him. Obviously my dad being an extra in "Dawn" got to. He would be proud it's the 45th anniversary this year 👍 I too wish he was buried here in Pittsburgh!!! We miss you George 🤗💜🥰 Thanks so much Sean! ( You too Scott!!)😁
Of all of yours and Scott's videos this one and Scott's are particularly of interest to me, as I am a huge Romero fan, and will be visiting family in Canada, and am planning on visiting his grave. ❤
Both of you need to get to Pittsburgh! We can do the movie locations and then Mac Miller. I found Macs grave before they removed his headstone. Yes he’s buried in a unmarked grave!
Sean and Scott on Tape ... Sean is the best at this Scott is ok I guess JK!! Scott you Rock too bro . Glad you guys are hanging out and going around doing some awesome stuff . HHG is untouched in the game . R I P George Romero.
He was a humble man, and I'm not surprised at all to see that he has just a regular tombstone... He's sorely missed!
Was fortunate enough to have met him. Took my son to meet him as well and he was humble and very kind to both of us. True class act.
All my respects to George Romero. He is missed by his family, friends, and fans. Thanks for doing this video, Sean.
who doesn't love The Greatest!
You're right, Sean: Dawn of the Dead is a real masterpiece, it's in my top 10 films of all times!
I never met George myself, but had always wanted to. A legendary filmmaker, who did it "his way." God bless George.
Met George at one of his last cons in Toronto. You were there too Sean, it was an amazing day. May he RIP.
So lucky to have got to meet George. Was super nice

George Romero reminded me of a relative. Seemed down to earth. RIP
I was lucky to meet him once at the "Saturday Nightmares" Convention in Jersey City NJ in 2010. Thanks for this Sean and Scott!
I was playing Dying Light one day and they had just added a large spray painted tribute to George under a bridge in the game and I had no idea that they had done this. It was a punch in the gut moment. Very touching I thought and a sad reminder that he was gone.

George's widow is Canadian, and he lived in Toronto for good while at the end of his life. I believe that he became a citizen as well.

Just saw you on with Jason Green. I have to tell my daughter about you and your dedication and knowledge of horror movies. It was nice to meet you
Nice to meet you too!
He's one of the only people I didn't know personally that I shed a tear for when I heard of his passing.

The quote from Hamlet on George’s grave was a nice reminder that he was such a well-read guy. Thanks for such a respectful video Sean.
George was amazing. Very sweet person and very kind to his fans.
Thank You for sharing this video. There will never be another like George. Scott not being quirky is like macabre.
Forever regret never getting to meet him. Every interview I’ve watched of him, he seemed like a real down to earth guy.
George was one of the best. Gone but never forgotten! Great video, Sean.

Wow thanks for posting this. I had no idea he was buried in that area. Would have been cool at @4:30 if the guy in the background was a zombie ha.

Great video Sean. The plot George is in is beautiful. I love seeing the cemeteries out that way. Nice to see Scott out there with you too. Makes it twice as nice.

I just watched his 2005 land of the dead , awesome movie. I wouldn't doubt his work encouraged other film makers .
Night of the living Dead is great movie 1968 old school
