Vikrant is back with yet another extremely detailed, no-nonsense review. This time around it's for the petrol automatic version of the XUV 3XO. Let us know what you think!
The XUV300 did not fail. That is a misleading statement. It did anywhere between 4k-6k a month. That certainly did not set the charts on fire, but it is a decent number, far from a failure.
Agreed. It didn't do as poorly as the other Mahindras in the sub-4m category. But success and failure is relative. For a brand like Mahindra which is in the numbers game, selling 2-3k units where the category is bigger than 100,000 units a month isn't success. At least as we view it.
9:26 both the engines are turbocharged, no NA petrol engine is there. You guys are showing one of the petrol engine as NA. It is turbocharged, the difference is in fuel injection.
Actually both have same fuel injection system, but both are different in the way the fuel is delivered into the combustion chamber. One is MPFI Turbo charged, other one is GDI Direct injection Turbo charged. 🤝🤝🤝👍👍👍
@@vikrantsingh6916 very nice review. One question though, the company claims that ARAI mileage of Tgdi is better than mpfi, I am talking about MT. Do you think (or know) this Tgdi engine is more fuel efficient than their mpfi. Actually, I am confused between AX5 and AX7 in terms of fuel efficiency.
The late power surge is kind of useful, one would not need sudden power surge which means more control when the vehicle is moving from standstill....Agree?
I want to take AX5 model but is tcmpfi good enough because when compared to ax5L i am ok with rest all the features but i am confused in tgdi vs tcmpfi
For city use, the extra power won't make that much of a difference. Especially when you consider our experience of the pronounces turbo lag on the direct injection version under 2000 rpm.
TCMPFI is an excellent engine. I have taken a test drive of the same. 110PS might not sound much but Mahindra tunes engines extremely aggressive. I own the TGDI though and 90% of the times there's not enough chance to actually use that power. TCMPI can cruise at 120 all day so it's an excellent engine. TGDI to me is actually the engine if you want frequent high speed highway cruise and still get good mileage because of the direct injection. Rest for normal use, TCMPI is perfect.
Thanks for the detailed review. Jerkiness in low rpm that you have highlighted at 16:55 - which drive mode was it?. Will Zip mode reduce this jerkiness in city traffic.
Vikrant Sir.. May i know which is better car in Compact SUV segment. My requirement is good steering feedback, Mileage, Performance, Safety. Mostly highway drive. Thanks in advance.
And what about Level 2 ADAS? Does it work in the manual transmission version of a car? How can emergency brakes work if the clutch isn't engaged automatically because it's manual? Even if the tires might stop spinning because of disc brakes, wouldn't it damage the differentials, power transmission, and engine
Nice one! Is there a pronounced turbo lag under 2K RPM in both the Turbo petrols of 3XO? How does the turbo lag compare with the one in Venue Turbo petrol?
Sir First and foremost, nice to see you back with this review. For yearly highway driving of almost 25 K kms which one you suggest ? Petrol or Diesel automatic
Thanks for a practical and to the point review. This looks like a good facelift with just the right amount of extras to keep us interested. Probably in coming iterations the missing goodies would also get added but looks perfect as it is for users looking for strength and stability with a modernized new package.
If the rear seat is not comfortable, which car in its segment betters it? You have to compare it with another car in its segment. You can’t compare it with Seltos or Creta!
@CarWale the background music is too loud and too upbeat . It takes away the essential professionalism & frankly makes the dialogue quite hard to hear clearly.
Yes, the Bolero has been hugely successful. But, it's not for the same target audience as the others mentioned in the video. So yes, you are right, but it doesn't fit in this context.
There’s a difference - just like the 500 and the 700, the XUV 300 used the numbers three zero zero. And therefore the XUV three hundred. No matter what Mahindra marketing says, it was a number. This time though Mahindr has gone for three X and the letter O and not the number zero.
@@nikhilvijay6022 tgdi have lower mileage compared to mpfi and banglore have a lot of traffic .. tgdi will only give a mileage of 11-13 but mpfi will give a little bit more and you don't need that extra power on the bumper to bumper traffic
I would never want that hideous looking thing parked in my garage. What audacity for Mahindra to impose that ugly looking thing on the masses! Take it back.

Exactly though it has been 4-5 yrs after the launch , it was still selling 4.5 k monthly which I feel is a Great number tbh ...!

Indeed. XUV 3OO is no dout the Best handling car in the segment... It is a value for PPL who can really scout for hidden gem..
Exactly!
9:26 both the engines are turbocharged, no NA petrol engine is there. You guys are showing one of the petrol engine as NA. It is turbocharged, the difference is in fuel injection.
You are correct. Both petrol engines are turbocharged. And the one we have here uses direct injection.

So far we have only driven the TGDI engine. But we will soon drive the regular turbo petrol and find out.

Thank you.
Vikrant sir is it the most dynamically capable & fun to drive CSUV? Many auto Journalists claiming it to be as of now.

I have seen and sat on the rear seat. It's not comfortable. 0 thigh support. Not good for long drives. All other comparable have good rear seats.
For rear seat space and comfort you can look at the Nexon as an option.
