what i love about MH is that when i get "bored" or anyone gets lonely they just go and sit in random rooms and help random people out with hunts. I do it all the time. Its really fun just wailing on monsters for bullying you in solo mode.
It's important to note that the Balance Kinsect, when compared with the Speed/Affinity Kinsect doesn't come out as inferior, especially when in online play. It can be argued that the speed/affinity is better for solo, but if you're playing with other people the balance bug takes over. The speed/affinity kinsect does give you 30% affinity whenever you get white, and you get the double-up for red+white extended. This does not extend the triple up effect. The balance kinsect does NOT share your extracts with other glaivers, it shares the EFFECTS of them with everyone. It gives a very small defence boost to everyone in your team when you get orange, it gives everyone in your team +10% affinity whenever you get white, and gives everyone a small attack boost whenever you get red. You also get 90s for the triple up, however if you pair this with the Extract Hunter III, you get 135s of triple up. To put that into perspective, that's 15s longer than the effect extender bug in 4. With extract hunter III you can pretty much consider this bug to be the effect extender from 4U, that boosts everyone's affinity. This share effect lasts 60s. Grabbing the extracts again will reset that share time as well. (It also shares the green extract with everyone but honestly it's close to a herb-worth of health so no one cares) It's also important to note that the balance bug affinity boost share also stacks with the speed/affinity bug white extract effect. This means that if you're using a balance bug, and someone else in your team is using the speed bug, they will not only get 30% affinity from their white, but an extra 10% from yours as well.
hey man, thanks so much for your videos. when i first got into this series, in 4u, you made the game far more accessible and felt far less overwhelming for a noobie with your weapon tutorials and mixed armor guides. much love!
I haven't made all that much use of the IG, but the pheromone marking I've used to mark the Green zone on an enemy. Especially if you use the marking strike, which is much easier to connect with, and doesn't interupt your damage as much, you can just drop it on that body part, and then spam it. Since you can't refresh a triple buff, there's nothing for your Kinsect to do while it's up, except to damage the enemy and heal you. Mark the green part of an enemy, and whenever you aren't in melee range, send the Kinsect in and out, and get that extra health back. One of the strengths of the Glaive, as I see it, is that it's the only blademaster weapon with a true ranged attack. While it's hardly as strong as a HBG, it's still something you can do when the enemy runs away, or when they're using an attack that prevents you from getting in close (like the Khezus electric field). Firing off the Kinsect doesn't even slow you down, and if you've marked a body part, you don't even need to face the monster or aim.
The big thing is that you don't want to be breaking up the combo to fiddle with the bug if you have a triple up. Every second of a triple up is important.
You would want to idealize the use of your Kinsect with Striker style tho. I maintain A while using X-X, Send Kinsect, X-X, Call back, etc. The triple smack looks good on paper but you move forward too much, so i use Kinsect commands instead.
Oh, hello again, kindred Striker IG person~ Having a fast charge kinsect also gives the option of Hold A>X>Delay a little>Release A, if you care for that at all. But yeah, DoomedLich. Gaijin doesn't mention it, but Striker can simultaneously hold down A to charge the kinsect and continue to do other things like attack, roll, mark, and if you hate your right hand, vault+attack. In my play experience, this also makes evasion skills VERY useful for Striker, due to being able to maintain charge safely. It also makes it the best option for K.O-ing via impact kinsects, because you can be rolling to get a better view of the head, or if the monster's in a state where it can be hit a bunch, can continue to dish out damage on the head while the kinsect is charging up (should still give priority to hammers and the like, of course). Other than the button layout and the awful pure X button combo, Gaijin was right about it being "the most abrupt change across any weapon and style combination." And that's because, when you actually play it RIGHT, it's... Less like how every other style of IG still plays like IG at their core, and more like if Hammer and Bow had a baby that couldn't do what either of their parents could do on their own, so they gave it a kinsect as their first birthday present so it could try to in it's own way. Years later, this young weapon went to school, and all the other weapon kids made fun of them, with few exceptions. =V
One of my favorite things to do with my Kinsect is use it to help other players when they mount a monster. It doesn't do a lot, but every bit helps! I also like that I can help with sleep bombing. It's great!
want to give kudo's to all your weapon tutorial video's they are REALLY informative and really go into depth of the different styles, combo's to aim for and what suits what best. thanks Gaijin!
13:11 "Now you might be asking yourself (which I definitely was when you mentioned this, lul).. 'what happens to all my A button attacks if it's all just the Kinsect now?'...and you'd be right. *They're all gone.* This made me laugh way harder than it should have.
IG was my main weapon in 4U, so I'm really happy to see it's still totally viable in Gen. Aerial looks a lot more fun than I initially thought, and good lord being able to upgrade the Kinsect separately is a godsend. Thanks for the tutorial. 💚
And with just 5 days left before the Western release. I was wondering when we'd see this. Thanks for your work. Really appreciate the information on motion values, and the detailed walkthrough of all the little side options a person might overlook if they skip strait to play-testing things for themselves. Always useful. I kinda feel like, arguably, Glaive gets the least out of Adept of any other weapon in the game except maybe like, I don't know, Sword & Shield? But even that gets mount attacks from flat ground as a major bonus. Then again, I suppose getting Adept Evades in and of themselves is the point.
Excuse me Gaijin, but for the "Marking slap" as I like to call it, it's actually pretty decent in some situations: It's only effective if a monster is knocked down, but during that time, you can quickly do it to mark the most annoying extract to get on a monster then go back to the XXA combo. Pretty handy for some really annoying to get Orange extracts or monsters with way too dangerous areas to aim at in the heat of battle (looking at you, Fatty) Also, if you have a blunt Kinsect, mark the head this way, then use charge attacks when possible. Not a Hammer, but it helps.
A few things you missed: 1. The forward poke does get an additional hit when red extract is active. It hits once on the forward thrust and one more time when pulling the glaive back. The motion value appears to be [18 + 12]. 2. With red and white extract active, the spinning aerial attack hits a maximum of 3 times on either type of forward jump and a maximum of 4 times on a backward jump when jumping across flat ground. All of them can hit more times when attacking large monsters while jumping from higher ground to lower ground. 3. The Extract Hunter art is affected by the balanced Kinsect's triple up extender ability, which extends the duration of the triple up received from Extract Hunter Lv. 3 to a massive 135 seconds. Against monsters that allow you to be even only moderately aggressive, it's painfully easy to have the art fully charged by the time the triple up is about to expire.
I'm starting to feel like I'm spamming... Commented about this earlier. >< He also overlooked something that's understandable to overlook (who would even look into the following, amirite?); Striker Style can do other actions while charging the kinsect at the same time: While attacking: d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXxq9kvbRuvZx While rolling: d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXxryQCc7pahQ While firing a pheromone bullet: d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXxso0S8Jjlik While vaulting+attacking (was easier to screencap without red): d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXx0lckdpnBIX My lame Miiverse post: miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAADAAADV0aEauVnHg It probably won't change opinions on it being trash, but there ya go.
if i remember right from monster hunter 4, the marking strike does 2 things. it shows you what color you will get from the hit area, and it makes your kinsect "lock on" and go hit that area automatically when sent (as long as theres nothing in the way, f.ex. you marked the tail but the monster is staring right at you, concealing the tail behind it)
very well done tutorial and especially liked to finally see motion values for IG in MHX/Gen! I'd have some stuff to add to the tutorial though even if it is minor and please let me know if I am wrong again, gaijinhunter (like last time on twitter lol, but I am actually pretty sure this time around): 1) the wide range skill from the balanced kinsect not just works for green, but also for the other buffs. fellow hunters wont get the increased motion values or rock steady, but they very well get 10% affinity from white, 5 atk from red and 5 defense from orange. 2) the "kinsect specific buffs" (like 10% affinity from white on balanced bug, 30% on speed1 etc) can run out even if you still have the triple up. atk+5 for example on the balanced kinsect will run out 60 seconds after you grabbed red, no matter if you reach the triple up or not.
I honestly like the look of Striker! The simplified moveset seems okay to me as someone who's played a lot of SnS. The Swarm and Slam Hunter Arts sound fairly baller, so... I think I'll have fun with all 4 styles! I only dabbled in Glaive in 4U, and I'm glad it was toned down a little while keeping its identity. Also, thank you so much for these tutorials! I've been insanely excited for this game ever since it was announced for the west, and these help me survive my own hype. I know it's been a lot of work making all these videos, and because of all your hard work these are some of the best tutorials out there! I hope Bowgun isn't too much of a hassle for you, but I wouldn't worry about having it done by release. We'll survive somehow. Good hunting, friends! ^^ Oh, one quick question - Does Crit Draw work on Hunter Arts used from a sheathed weapon? A guaranteed crit Brimstone Slash makes me woozy.
I just started maining Insect Glaive cause the acrobatics are so much fun. Thank you so much for this guide, I didn't realize how shit I was as an Insect Glaive Meister until I saw this.
Marking is actually much more useful than you give it credit for. Using it to mark a hard to get area, usually orange, makes it much easier to sustain the triple buff status. Red and white can be easily gotten by throwing the bug at point blank range. Another way is the mark the red area so you can throw the bug from anywhere and get red, lowering your downtime trying to get red. Using marking effectively is certainly not a beginner's technique though so most people tend to just ignore the headache of learning to use it effectively.
a change i really, really liked is how when you press R you are not committed to it until the cursor goes away or you jump/use the kinsect. In 4u you had to wait, while here if you move and release R it doesn't shoot, while in 4u it did. This is something that really pissed me off when i mistakenly pressed R. Otherwise, the glaive looks still cool and the nerf in the motion value isn't too extreme as i feared. I like a lot the Swarm art (this is the name, just "Swarm"). I think it's probably the best. You don't risk to whiff it and it does constant damage. So in the end it can make even more damage than the slam on the long run. And well, since the video i looked at the speed kinsect and that massive 30% affinity. With that speed and reach renewing the triple up won't be hard. I think it's worth more than +30 seconds to the triple up overall, it's not as useful as in mh4u where the glaive already was uber-powerful
16:04 They aren't flashy, but i think they are really strong. My only problem is with extract hunter, if you are good as getting the buffs this one is kind of useless, especially when the other two can be combed together. Even when using aerial or bushido, EH takes way to long to charge to be really usefull.
Dear gajin, before I say anything else, thanks! XD Because of you, I nearly master (as a noobish pro, bear with me) the Sword and Shield, Hunting Horn, Longsword, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, and the Dual Blades. Yet as wonderful as they are, I'm having a super hard time choosing the one I want to main with. I want power, agility, speed, and buffs with hint of K.O., which the Insect Glaive does do fairly well in, but there's been many cases where valuable hunting arts came into play like the SnS's fairly well striker play (and the Switch Axe, it deserves some love too). And then there's that wonderful golf club ultimate buffing super charged multiplayer master (should I continue?) hunting horn that's just fabulous. And then, not included in my detriment list was defense. And so far, Adept Charge Blade just seems to kill that entire list cx. So, with my troubles, I ask you, and any other person interesting in assisting, what's your favorite weapon to main with? And out of the one's I'm torn between, which one is truly the best for what I want?
Marking is more useful than you give it credit for. The kinsect flies straight towards the mark, but does not necessarily come into contact with the monster at the spot that you mark. By positioning yourself such that the flight path of the kinsect intersects the body part you desire, this allows you to blind fire the kinsect while moving without aiming and still getting the extracts you want.
The Monster hunter Generations demo is out in English, and in that the second Insect Glaive hunter art (the one that summons a swarm of bugs) is just called 'Swarm', so I'm gonna go with that's probably what it's called.
Hopefully more Kinsects will be viable in MHXX. P.S: I don`t generally use aerial Style (unless i find a monster asier to fight with it) but aerial became my main style for Insect Glaive.
Bought MHX the minute it was released in The US - played the demo quite a bit to figure out what I was going to main on this one - I used to do sword and shield in MH4 but I've gotta say I am still pretty new in general to the franchise, MH4 was my first real experience with MH (Played the the one on iOS and also Freedom Unite for PSP but never really got into them back then, it wasn't until MH4 that I decided to revisit those titles and honestly I still think they lack the "action" in comparison to MH4 and particularly to MHX). Anyway, the point is I decided to go with aerial Insect Glaive and I am more than pleased. I had never been so "good" at MH. I feel invincible - I don't know if the game itself is easier or what, but it took me so little to actually start ripping benefits from this combination - I didn't even use online at all for the first 10 hours and to be honest I remember back in MH4 most basic quests were already a pain in the ass because it felt like not knowing what I was doing plus the fact that MH actually IS a "hard game" (let's call it out on modern video games, most are BS) was just too overwhelming. Eventhough I was definitely learning back then, I can't stress the fact that it took me way more than 10 hours to start actually "enjoying" MH4 - with Aerial and Insect Glaive, I've enjoyed MHX since the first minute. SICK SICK SICK. LOVE THE INSECT GLAIVE!!!!!! PS: I may feel like a pro, but truth is I am still a major noob - the only difference is I can easily take monsters on my own now, before I needed 3 peeps to help me out cause I was just too bad LOLOLOL.
You missed something huge with Striker Style: You can charge your Kinsect by holding A while doing literally anything else. You can vault, roll, and attack while charging your Kinsect, which is a HUGE buff to Attack Power Kinsects as this combined with the fast charge ability means you and your bug will be fighting in tandem. Thanks to being striker, it will also be much easier to get all of the extracts due to the Extract Hunter Art and has pretty huge damage potential for Swarm + Bug Blow combos.
One thing that I noticed you didn't cover in the tutorial is redirecting the motion of the Kinsect mid-flight. At any time the Kinsect is out and has stamina left, you can press R+X to change the direction that it's moving, at what appears to be the same stamina cost as launching it initially. If the target is marked the Kinsect will turn to face the mark (which is handy for highly mobile enemies), while if there is no mark the Kinsect will turn to the direction that you're currently facing (which means that you can do things like make it do a 90 degree turn, or even travel back towards you while still attacking). This allows you to potentially get in multiple hits on the target, and if the first hit gets a color that you don't want you can spam attacks until you hit something useful or it runs out of stamina. This is why marking can be good, since the mark lets you repeatedly fire without needing to worry about correctly aiming yourself each time. I've also noticed that every third command gives the same animation as the charged attack (even if the first command was charged), though I have no idea whether the motion value is the same as the initial charged attack.
Great guide! Do you perhaps know any sets that make full utilization of the Insect Swarmed Super Slam, or as I will be referring to it as the SLAM DUNK?
Great Video as always! Your channel has been a great help to me in preparing for generations lol. Your videos are amazingly detailed and helpful to even the most experienced hunters. I have a question pertaining to that glaive. Is it one of the few weapons that have a maxed out sharpness guage without the need of sharpness + skills?
I can't wait for Generations. I'm going to try what I did in 4U and make every single IG and every corresponding set of armor. I heard there was even a Hornetaur Glaive.
Speaking of aerial style, when is the i-frames on the aerial forward hop? I also saw a video where a guy evades a roar when he times the second jump with the roar. Also, is the forward hop affected by evade+ and/or evade extender? Thanks for the great videos!
Just a question newbie here, 1. In aerial style, does the volt count as evade so i can use evade skill? 2. Does the swarm powerful or should i just stick to bug extract? (Aerial IG here) Thanks
Loving the videos man. Any chance you could talk about which weapons prefer which armor skills? I'm using new weapons this game and am lost as to what skills to shoot for!
Does anyone know if the Balanced Bug's Triple Up Extender ability extends the duration of the Extract Hunter III? I was wondering if it's a good synergistic way to keep things going.
As someone who decided to play through MH4U completely with IG when I got it I agree, it was a real pain in the ass for most of the game but it was still fun. thankfully it isnt the god tier do-it-all weapon anymore, as adept LS/DS/Bow look just as fun and are all 3 on my list
it seems to be better to upgrade the kinsect early game, the sooner you learn how to properly use the glaive and treat your kinsect, you reap the rewards of having the highest DPS weapon outside of the dual blades.
Thanks for the guide on the Kinsect, it is really some great work! Just a question though, what do you mean by "Slingshoting" on Aerial Style? I can't don't understand this description.
he refers to the replacement move for the x+a jump. You throw yourself at the monster with that move like you sit in a slingshot and get shot at it. A slingshot is some stick with two branches and a rubberband inbetween the two branches where you shoot stones from in case you didn't know that.
Huh... That's actually pretty cool. Adept basically gives a reason to use something other than a speed-sect? I know what you said about the flight limitations, but the extract hit seems to be a very good offensive alternative.
What is your favorite weapon + style in the new game? Ever since your charge blade guides when MH4U came out I ended up loving charge the most (was a hammer main in the previous games)
probably the best things that come from getting used to the awkward style of striker IG is the ability to charge your kinsect midcombo letting you use it more often. All 3 hunter arts also synergize with each other greatly benefitting from the likes of trump card as well. Swarm more specifically pairs well with both the other arts.
So that explains the striker style sucking at IG. Would like to use Aerial Style on more weapons other than GS but I can't grasp the timing and the invulnerable frame and feels a bit sluggish if you're using a weapon that's always unsheathed like the sword and shield or dual blades. Could you make a video explaining the evade frames of the aerial style? and boot in the adept style if that's too short lol. p.s. great video, great puns had me laughing on the bus and loving the intros of all the weapon tutorials
Hey Gaijin, when generations drop do you think you can do a video series on each of their armor and maybe showing off the weapons the variants can make?
For adept use, since you're doing a dual attack with your bug after an evade, wouldn't it be pretty good to invest in the little guy's power? In that case you really don't need to do the A attack. I also imagine Striker style can be good/fun for a mostly kinsect playstyle
I think mark a monster is the best way for the Kinsect. Because you dont have to focus were are you shooting at and can concentrate on fighting. You also can run away and send the kinsect automatically backwards. And also if you mark a monster you can send the kinsect a multiple time to hit the monster i think its about 5 times before it comes back to you. So if you dont get the right color you can hit i again and again hold r press x,x,x,x,x (You forgot this technique in the video, it also do damage. Specially if you go for the power kinsect with elemental damage). And dont worry where you marked the monster because the monster moves all the time. Like you, you marked the foot but hit the head 1:36 ;) But im shure with the new 3ds and the little analog stick its mutch more easy to mark the monster on the right spot. I most aim for the head and i think the mark holds a long time, before you have to mark it again. I watched all the videos, you doing still a good job ;)
I could be mistaken, as I haven't played Generations yet, but doesn't the red extract forward poke animation have 2 hits? One on the initial thrust and one more whilst pulling it back? Or was that changed in Generations?
Gaijin, marking might not be that useful for conventional means; however, when combined with a Fast Charge Kinsect, with a high attack, it can be quite helpful. I'd suggest marking by pressing "R" in a combo, instead of at a distance. Easier KO's(for Blunt Kinsect's) and the ability to more easily knock a flying monster out of the air are both rather helpful; though, I know such a style isn't for everyone.
Anybody have some suggestions on a Glaive that looks good with the Variant Lagombi set? For reference, it looks classy af, and it benefits aerial style the most, I think.
Can some-one put up a written list of the motion values? It's a good video, but i dont always have tome to watch it, and i would like to see it in a quick written form. And i fear i mes some of them in the video. - Also, which glaive is he using here?
Question: If u have a negative crit skill, how does the crit bonus on the kinsect work? It'll crit positive and negatively or it will overwrite the (exemple) -10 to +20 with the Speed 1?
what i love about MH is that when i get "bored" or anyone gets lonely they just go and sit in random rooms and help random people out with hunts. I do it all the time. Its really fun just wailing on monsters for bullying you in solo mode.
3 years later, still doing this :)
Awesome work man! That intro was on point!
Arekkz! Are you gonna stream MHGEN with people just like you did with MHX?

Thank you Aerial Insect Glaive for laying the foundation of IG aerial manoeuvres in MHWorld...you da real MVP
The "Je suis monté!" at the end was the cherry on the cake. Great tutorial. Now I want to try out this weapon... Which I never did, in MH4U.

No. It's true. All of it.

don't we already know this from 4U.Either way NICE tutorial

Excuse me Gaijin, but for the "Marking slap" as I like to call it, it's actually pretty decent in some situations: It's only effective if a monster is knocked down, but during that time, you can quickly do it to mark the most annoying extract to get on a monster then go back to the XXA combo. Pretty handy for some really annoying to get Orange extracts or monsters with way too dangerous areas to aim at in the heat of battle (looking at you, Fatty)
Also, if you have a blunt Kinsect, mark the head this way, then use charge attacks when possible. Not a Hammer, but it helps.
good points, thanks for sharing!
A few things you missed:
He also overlooked something that's understandable to overlook (who would even look into the following, amirite?); Striker Style can do other actions while charging the kinsect at the same time:
While attacking: d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXxq9kvbRuvZx
While rolling: d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXxryQCc7pahQ
While firing a pheromone bullet: d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXxso0S8Jjlik
While vaulting+attacking (was easier to screencap without red): d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69jXx0lckdpnBIX
My lame Miiverse post: miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAADAAADV0aEauVnHg
It probably won't change opinions on it being trash, but there ya go.
The bitch smack should instantly KO monsters regardless of the cutting damage
You are now my god.
Very good video Adam, I liked the little joke with the third x attack for guild style glaive!
if i remember right from monster hunter 4, the marking strike does 2 things. it shows you what color you will get from the hit area, and it makes your kinsect "lock on" and go hit that area automatically when sent (as long as theres nothing in the way, f.ex. you marked the tail but the monster is staring right at you, concealing the tail behind it)
I'm in LA for the summer and now my schedule is messed up so all my favorite youtubers post when I'm still asleep
8:15 how long have you been waiting to use this? There's finally a elephant in the game, so...
appriciate these videos so much man, really impressive work and very well made!
very well done tutorial and especially liked to finally see motion values for IG in MHX/Gen!
I'd have some stuff to add to the tutorial though even if it is minor and please let me know if I am wrong again, gaijinhunter (like last time on twitter lol, but I am actually pretty sure this time around):
1) the wide range skill from the balanced kinsect not just works for green, but also for the other buffs. fellow hunters wont get the increased motion values or rock steady, but they very well get 10% affinity from white, 5 atk from red and 5 defense from orange.
Oh, one quick question - Does Crit Draw work on Hunter Arts used from a sheathed weapon? A guaranteed crit Brimstone Slash makes me woozy.
Thanks so much for the videos n_n all of your tutorials are really helping me with my quest to master all the weapons!
I just started maining Insect Glaive cause the acrobatics are so much fun. Thank you so much for this guide, I didn't realize how shit I was as an Insect Glaive Meister until I saw this.
Posted 2 minutes ago...
I've been waiting for this :3
This video renewed my love for Glaive which I mained in MH4U. And I love Arial.
I feel in love with the insect Glaive all over again. It's my most used weapon next to switch axe and charge blade
Yeaaaaaaaayyy about time :D glad you did this before gen came out
Thank you. This video helped me to have a better idea how to play with the Glaive.
Using marking effectively is certainly not a beginner's technique though so most people tend to just ignore the headache of learning to use it effectively.
that sweet moment when your red+white extract begins to run out, but then you get the orange
it's so satisfying when weapons flow smoothly
This video made me an Insect Glaiver! Aerial Style all the way!
a change i really, really liked is how when you press R you are not committed to it until the cursor goes away or you jump/use the kinsect.
I think it's worth more than +30 seconds to the triple up overall, it's not as useful as in mh4u where the glaive already was uber-powerful
oh I was waiting for the IG tut!!!
thank you!
And out of the one's I'm torn between, which one is truly the best for what I want?
the way you ended off the video. i like it.
man I was soooo waiting for this~
16:34 what was THAT?!
That intro tho. that was pure berserk man!
You missed something huge with Striker Style:
You can charge your Kinsect by holding A while doing literally anything else.
Je suis monté!
Pardon...
Hi monté. I'm Dad
Snek urgent pls!
have fun mounting
+Harvey Kent hi monté , m mom
Aerial looks really fun! Gonna main Bow at the start but when It's time to try out an Aerial weapon the IG might be the one. GJ as always Gaijin!
Darn it Gaijin, now I have to use the Glaive. Great job on the video
this was beyond useful. thank you so much !
Nice. I guess I'll craft me a brand new glaive soon! Aerial slingshot looks waaaay too fun to miss ^^
I can't wait for Generations. I'm going to try what I did in 4U and make every single IG and every corresponding set of armor. I heard there was even a Hornetaur Glaive.
I see the Transpurrter is back in this game. Nice to have him back
"The Gammoth in the room..." my new favourite phrase. ^-^
Thanks. The hunter art is just called Swarm in the demo by the way.
Speaking of aerial style, when is the i-frames on the aerial forward hop? I also saw a video where a guy evades a roar when he times the second jump with the roar.
Also, is the forward hop affected by evade+ and/or evade extender?
Thanks for the great videos!
Audio slip-up at 17:05 . Still great tutorial though!
I had no idea what this weapon was. I just start pressing random buttons, but thanks for the tutorial man.
Just a question newbie here,
1. In aerial style, does the volt count as evade so i can use evade skill?
2. Does the swarm powerful or should i just stick to bug extract? (Aerial IG here)
Thanks
Additional, whats the best kinsect for you guys? Balance or the speed one? Thanks again
I like the bgm at the beginning. What's it called? or is it part of the MHG music?
AMAZING as always!
I like it but I prefer other weapons in the beginning just because of kinsect upkeep
As someone who decided to play through MH4U completely with IG when I got it I agree, it was a real pain in the ass for most of the game
but it was still fun. thankfully it isnt the god tier do-it-all weapon anymore, as adept LS/DS/Bow look just as fun and are all 3 on my list
Now that the glaive and its kinsect level separately, you can actually use it early game effectively.
it seems to be better to upgrade the kinsect early game, the sooner you learn how to properly use the glaive and treat your kinsect, you reap the rewards of having the highest DPS weapon outside of the dual blades.
+Voldebutt charge blade
The Poopsicle87647 While still high dps and a great weapon, probly not as high as in 4U thanks to the nerfs it got.
Hey, loved your tutorial. Are you planning on releasing tutorials for LBG and HBG in the future?
What is your favorite weapon + style in the new game? Ever since your charge blade guides when MH4U came out I ended up loving charge the most (was a hammer main in the previous games)
I'm your 500th like! :D
"Red Extract: Neartly 2x Hits/Damage." ☜(°O°☜)
Lord mercy, the IG looks sick.
Tip: Play Training Insect Glaive from the Bherna Gal and listen to him as you go on.
probably the best things that come from getting used to the awkward style of striker IG is the ability to charge your kinsect midcombo letting you use it more often. All 3 hunter arts also synergize with each other greatly benefitting from the likes of trump card as well. Swarm more specifically pairs well with both the other arts.
2:55
"Neartly"
okay, you're doing this on porpoise
I'm so stoked about aerial great sword :P
this tutorial was awesome thanks man!
16:34 JESUS CHRIST GAIJIN ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK
Awesome tutorial for an awesome weapon.
Also, Aerial and Striker are what appeal to me.
Don't forget in MH4U you could use it to knock a monster out of frenzy or apex if you have a wystone in effect.
oh good point, i never really though of it being useful for KO bugs but I can see how it can be, thanks!
Is an increase to motion value considered a buff from the old direct increase to attack? Also "Je Suis Monte" slayed me.
Would u also recommend the 9-6-12 (Strength, Stamina,Speed) split for the Speed 1 Kinsect?
16:30 ok i stopped looking at the screen to read a text and that sound just scared the fuck out of me
Question: If u have a negative crit skill, how does the crit bonus on the kinsect work? It'll crit positive and negatively or it will overwrite the (exemple) -10 to +20 with the Speed 1?
