Hot take, counterspells keep the table honest. Every game I have played without a counterspell, somebody either pops an infinite combo or plays an 8-9 mana spell that either kills somebody outright or horrifically derails the game the moment it resolves. Counterspells stop people from running away with a single card, and force them to plan synergies rather than cheeky gimmicks.
Big fan of this. I think counter spells are one of the best things in commander to help the game continue progressing in a healthy way. **as long as the deck isn’t all counterspells / control.
So I recently watched your masterclass on Elves, and now that this new structure of deck building is out, will this also affect the way elf builds are moving forward? Or is the old structure still good?

Hi, the original structures are still good to use.
