Thank you for this! I've just become a Pro Seller on TCGPlayer and I'm still learning how to be more efficient in my shipping. I NEVER use tape, but I am guilty of using top-loaders. Thank you for the tips and info!
I'm new to this TCG/Sport card world and did my first mailing. For a single card, I put it in a card loader with a protective sleeve upside so it doesn't slip along with a piece of paper I fold on the top of the top loader that is taped so it doesn't fall off the toploader. For protection, I add to cardboard pieces on both sides with tape along with the invoice. It's a tedious process but I want to make sure people are receiving the card with a lot of protection and less worry.
Thanks!!! I’m actually a fan of pull tabs and I’m wondering if I have ordered from you before. The problem with pull tabs is it’s time consuming I think, but they are nice
I WISH I bought cards from you in the past. I certainly will in the future. It’s an adventure every time I receive my TCGPlayer cards in the mail. If only TCGPlayer had the eBay PWE program.
With your 39 card order in a PWE, do you still use the 4x6 label for address/postage? Trying to picture the dimensions in my head and it seems off for some reason.
Thank you! The envelope would be just a standard size white envelope - it could be as much as 2.50 for shipping when you add all the ounces and non machine
So you use A4 envelopes with shipping shields and print both the packing slip and shipping, return address as well as stamp all on your thermal printer via Rollo?
@@PhilosopherCards how do you print out the shipping , return address and stamp via your Rollo I only ask because I have one as well and that would save me so much time and money
How do you get your PWE postage in landscape? I'd like to use my new thermal printer for regular envelope postage but can't figure out how to get out of portrait.
do you have links to the other shipping supplies like the envelopes you use? I haven't heard anyone say that smaller envelopes work for them and they don't get sent back a lot. I've laywas heard #10 envelopes work best. I've also heard people using the card binder sleeve method, but I'm having a hard time visualizing how they would fit all of that into a envelope without it being too bulky.
Hey there! #10 envelopes work best for quantity above 22 cards and if you print your packing slip on a normal 8.5 x 11. In my case - I print the packing slip on thermal paper and its super thin. I use the size A4 envelopes that I buy on ebay. Here is a link to some envelopes that I just purchased and it will help the channel as its an affiliate link :) ebay.us/QqFFE8 You would only use the binder pages on orders with greater than 22 cards and it must be shipped in a #10
What if you have an evil post office that says all cards are non machinable because the envelope isn’t uniformly flat and want me to pay for non machinable? Any advice?
What’s your size to print out your envelope on your thermal printer Cause I have a Rollo as well but my information comes out small and barely readable
I could just be super late just wanted to check my math. Ship shield 200 count for 25.50 (after your discount code) and the invitation envelopes 450 for $40. Mead PWE 500 for $20 and top loaders 240 (and 240 clear sleeves) $25.
I normally buy the invitation envelopes in bulk and get it down to 6 cents an envelope or so but prices have gone up since filming this - no need for top loaders if you have the ship shields, just penny sleeves
my comment got deleted i guess lol, but ya i just use window envelopes and print the packing sheet out on regular paper, but i have a laser jet printer so its not too bad. My question is, is your method of buying postage cheaper than normal stamps? Im REALLY looking forward to the video about tcg direct cuz i havent ventured into that yet, thanks for the video!
I get my shipping shields from shipping shields. Link and discount code in the description. I’ve been getting my envelopes lately from Amazon and my sleeves from Amazon. Bubble mailers I’ve been doing eBay
Those Shipping Shields are not cheap. I looked it up and the cheapest I saw was 8 cents each for 9000. Those custom ones have to be way more expensive. I just use half of a folded vending machine sleeve. If you buy them in bulk, they are half of one cent. They work great and I have had folks say it was well shipped. Just an idea to save on shipping costs. The margins are so thin on these cards ever little bit you can save on shipping helps a ton.
That's a thought! I'm usually around 10 cents for the shipping shields - I also have my marketing on it which is how I justify the added cost. But great points
@@PhilosopherCardslate to the party, but I heard TCGPlayer no longer allows marketing materials that detract from their site in/on packages. Are you still able to use your custom shipping shields with the change?
There two types of TCG sellers: The very generous and smart packaging seller like you VS The very low effort or cheap ones that put singles in a penny sleeve without toploader then call it a day

How does this video not have more interaction?! Great tips!
Thank you!! 😊
@@PhilosopherCardseven though I’m doing tcg for pokemon the I joined the discord incase I need any advice! Already got a shopping list.

That’s gonna keep it protected but it’s a lot of work! Try my method! Get a couple ship shields and see what you think!
I really like how you print the invoice on thermal paper. I'll have to give that a try. I use green tape folded over with pull tabs lol
Thanks!!! I’m actually a fan of pull tabs and I’m wondering if I have ordered from you before. The problem with pull tabs is it’s time consuming I think, but they are nice
This looks like a great low cost effective method. Thanks
Great video mate! Which model thermal printer are you using?
Thank you! I have two, I have a rollo and a polono lol but i use the 50 dollar amazon polono for everything
I WISH I bought cards from you in the past. I certainly will in the future. It’s an adventure every time I receive my TCGPlayer cards in the mail.

You know.. I often wonder that myself - they are in fact - the same company? Hope to see your orders! :)
Best shipping advice in the game change your own game up!
Continuous improvement is always a great thing
With your 39 card order in a PWE, do you still use the 4x6 label for address/postage? Trying to picture the dimensions in my head and it seems off for some reason.
Yes! I just place it on the center of the PWE
Do you have a little more info on shipping 3 stacks in a cut up card page?
What size envelope? How much is that shipping?
Thanks for the helpful vid.
Thank you! The envelope would be just a standard size white envelope - it could be as much as 2.50 for shipping when you add all the ounces and non machine
What did you use for the formatting on your labels for the outside of the envelops? Was there a specific website or software that you recommend?
I use stamps.com it prints the postage and address for you on the label at one time!
New favorite tuber
💪💪

Yeah man - control panel - printer settings - click on the printer, set up the printer through there in landscape

I can't stand when I get an order "for a $4 card" and it's taped up like a boxer's hand before going in the glove 😢
Hahaha I know I’ve almost damaged cards many times getting the tape off the stuff 🤣
@@PhilosopherCards oh yeah
could you link the thermal printer and labels you use? I find that the labels tend to add up in price
You can pretty much use any thermal printer but here is a link to the labels a.co/d/iDrTRCb
What was the Amazon one you recommended? I'm trying to automate more of my process and the manual stamping has been time consuming
Here’s the thermal printer I’m using POLONO Label Printer, PL420 4x6... www.amazon.com/dp/B0B52V5HQ1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
For your 39 card example with the cut binder sheets and the plain white envelope. Do you add cardboard on either side? Awesome video btw!
I do not! If you do, it will be too thick and usps will reject, but if you pack it that tightly, they protect each other
What if you have an evil post office that says all cards are non machinable because the envelope isn’t uniformly flat and want me to pay for non machinable? Any advice?
Absolutely ask them to bend it :) don’t flinch when they do - say that if you can bend it so can the machine - I did this too
Any reason in particular not to just print the label directly on the envelope?
You need to buy ink for that and a much larger and more expensive printer!
What’s your size to print out your envelope on your thermal printer
Cause I have a Rollo as well but my information comes out small and barely readable
4x6 thermal label - you have to mess with the printer settings in the control panel to adjust it

Buy stamps from estate sales for 40% market value. I profit $.60 on an $.08 card and I use the nicest paper and enveloped available
