Hey everyone, if you would like to get something similar to these scarf, shawl, sarong and hat ideas here is the link to my blog where you can find them www.awesomeover50.com/beauty/20-tips-ties-styles-of-scarves-where-to-find-them/
Awesome over 50 have you seen athletes do deep tissue massage and they get these bruises on their back? Well, there are different size suction cups that you use on the face and neck for wrinkles and sagging, on the thighs for cellulite and the stomach. It helps with circulation and draining the lymphatic system. You're supposed to keep the suction cups moving (use oil on your face and/or body) when you're using them, that way you don't bruise. I'm not an expert at all, just researching it. Anyway, I've looked up a few videos on TH-cam to check out different techniques etc. :)
Actually Cindy I know now what you mean. I used to go to an acupuncturist for my migraines and he applied the cups to various parts of my body. They tended to bruise and stay red on my skin for a long time. I'm not sure if I would use it on my face as I have spider veins and I'd be worried about those increasing. I do think some of these old fashioned methods like cupping do work for others though and thanks so much for sharing with the community, Heather
I have a collection of beautiful silk scarves I have picked up in my travels and they have been being used to bring a pop of color into my home here and there. Now I know how to add them to my wardrobe. Wore one the other day to go shopping and got so many compliments on not only the scarf but how amazing I looked wearing it. Thanks for the tips and tricks because the majority of my wardrobe is black and have added a few royal blue and ruby red tops recently to it. Now I can add a pop of color without wearing out the new jewel toned tops I picked up. Aging isn't for sissies and finding that happy ground between looking like you are ready for the senior citizen gathering and trying to hard is difficult on the best of days. Love your videos and you do make being over 50 awesome.
Great video!!Thanks for showing us the many different ways to style a scarf. You always look gorgeous!! I'm 69 and love fashion.I appreciate all your great ideas and tips.👍👍❤️❤️
I love how these all look good on you. I need to get some more scarves that will coordinate with what I wear because some of my best blouses have too much exposed now days and I could still wear them with a scarf to cover up a little more. I just never had any ideas on how to tie them to make them look good but not too look like I tried too hard.
Loved watching this video again! Thank you for all of the scarf tips. Heather, you were looming in this video showing your modeling experience! Very impressive as always. You're Awesome!!!
Holy cow Heather! I just inherited a pile of lovely scarves from my daughter, but haven't worn them because I had no idea what to do with them! You just made it possible! Thank you so much! Your tips and tricks are always the very best. x
I usually re-wind the videos to learn them for the long term or you could also take a screenshot of the finished scarf or even a photo of some of the scarf ideas on the screen and save them on your phone. Hope this helps- Heather
Great scarf ideas. The very last one of making a beach bag is so creative. I need to try that one on my next vacation if I can remember how to do it. Great tips.
I love wearing scarves. I have several scarf clips and brooches to extend the styles even further. I'll have to check out the loop one you demonstrated; it's lovely. Thanks for the video!
Hi Sandra, I didn't put in my scarf clips or brooches with pins because I find the pins damage the scarves and the clips sometimes fall off my scarves. The loops are great! Heather
Another awesome video ! Not only do you show us great scarf ideas but it helps to hear how other outfits and situations can change things up.Thank you for sharing your great smiles laughs and ideas.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment Donna! I just heard from a subscriber that said she has 83 scarves, now that's a woman who knows how to extend her wardrobe! I'm even wearing more scarves with my own outfits since I did this video, LOL, Heather
Lots more ways to tie a scarf than I ever imagined. Have never been a scarf type person, other than winter scarves, which I love...but now, might have to give it a shot. Great looks. Thanks Heather!! Great ideas to spice up your outfits!!😉😉
Hi Pamela, I'm amazed too how scarfs can extend a wardrobe. I just replied to a woman in our community who at last count had 83 scarfs. She's the Queen of the Scarves ( at least to me) and a master at these wardrobe extenders! I also just finished my Winter Lookbook video and it should be out later this week, I added scarfs to almost every outfit as I think they're a necessity in a wardrobe now, Heather
I just also purchased some great scarves. It was add -ons to old plain sweaters and blouses. And like you say “ Voila!”. These tops are new again. No need to buy new expensive tops. Love your videos.
I'm so glad you just added more scarves to your wardrobe. Thanks so much for letting me know you got them and also that you love my videos! Scarves are certainly wardrobe extenders as you say! Heather
Thanks for all the ideas. I haven’t worn scarves in years because my ideas were either a small scarf tied in a knot around my neck, or a big scarf tied onto my purse handle. My kids shamed me into stopping, they said those were “old-fashioned”!!! And as usual, dear Heather, you’ve renewed my interest in wearing scarves again !! Thanks, girlie....you’re awesome ! Hugs & lots of love, Sharon
Super job, Heather. So many elegant ideas. Loved the gala wraps. And the beach ideas, too. And of course, Hurricane looks dashing! Have a blessed weekend, beautiful friend. Peace! ~TONI 💋💚🌺💜
Hi Toni, thanks again for your inspiring comment. By the way, I loved your thanksgiving video! All the best for you and yours during the holiday season and into 2018, Heather
I have 3 silk scarfs, I am not comfortable with the big scarfs and such a pest when shopping in a mall ,but the silk is warm and cosy around the neck and they brighten a winter jumper.
The blue tie dye one is a sarong. Pashmina is pronounced posh-mina. Thanks for your fun videos, it's so nice to see fellow over 60's with spunk and enthusiasm for life! Bless you.
Wow Margo! Paris is on my bucket list and I haven't been there yet. The Parisians have a wonderful way with style and they make the scarf applications so chic. Thanks so much for sharing with the community, Heather
Do it, Heather! You will have the time of your life. Paris is wonderful -- and using the Metro is easy so that you can get to see everything you want to. The Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, walks along the Seine, Notre Dame, the Catacombs...all amazing. Oh, and the food! We thought we were picky about food, but the food there surpassed our expectations!
Wow!! I just copied and pasted your comment and put it on my wall. I believe that dreams come true if we can visualize the wish (in this case Paris) You wrote a wonderful, inspiring review and everything you said sounds like it's perfect for Bill and I! Heather
Hallo Heather I love your scarf video! I’m from Germany and it’s cold outside. Your video is right on time. Thanks from Monika 🌼 A big kiss to sweet hurricane 😘
I'm from Canada and it's cold here too so lots of scarves come in handy. Thanks for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed the video. Virtual kisses back to you from Hurricane! Heather
First time watching this video. I love your presentation and the different ways to use a scarf. I have scarves and pashminas that I don't wear much. When I do it's to worship services. Since watching your video, I may be wearing my scarves more often. Even if it's just over to a friend's or the grocery store.
This is a video that I will be referring back to! Really great ways to style a scarf! I did not realize that a burgundy scarf would look so good with my camel coloured coat! I’d never thought of that combo. The infinity scarf idea to warm up and cover the arms on a cool summer evening is something I wouldn’t have thought of!
Hi Heather, Thoroughly enjoyed watching your showing us how to configure scarfs and how to fashion them around your neck, head, etc. The colors, designs and textures were fabulous. You looked smashing in the leather jacket! The only one that I thought didn't give your good looks justice was the kerchief-like scarf on your head. Maybe if a few strands of hair were spilling out might have made a difference. Liked that you included versions for Summer including the neat cover-up and carry all. In the Summer, I take a long-rectangular scarf (seen how to on another channel) and make it into a halter top. It's really so versatile because I can wear this particular scarf @ other seasons as well. Thank you for the learning/modelling extravaganza!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I agree that the scarf on my head didn't turn out as flattering as I wanted but I'm still glad I gave people the idea. The halter top is another great idea, thanks for sharing with the community. Once again thanks for your great comments, Heather
Wow nice. I'm getting back into scarves after 30 years of not wearing them LOL I think it will get rid of my lines in my neck without wearing a heavy turtleneck thanks for the ideas I bought some scarves about 2 months ago put them in my drawer and I thought how in the world am I going to wear them I don't know what to do with them so now I do thank you
I have a ton of scarves and put them on periodically. My problem? HOT FLASHES. It seems I wear a scarf for about one hour then yank it off because I am so hot!! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!
Heather, AWESOME!!! Those were wonderful tricks & tips for wearing a scarf. I'm slowly Incorporating scarves into my wardrobe. I think that scarves can make your outfits look sophisticated, casual; scarves are fashion must haves!!! You look great, the outfits were very fun&yet refined/classic, tasteful.
Love your videos and your fashion style. I’m binge watching them lol. You are a stunning woman, with that cool , understated fashion model vibe. These tips were amazing, will practice with some of my scarves!!! lol ❤️ to Hurricane
Thank you for all the wonderful ideas, Heather! I love scarves and know of no one else who wears them. I used to have many and scarf clips- where have they gone? I pretty much always have a scarf with me and often need it to drape over my shoulders/arms/chest when it becomes too cool. Am rebuilding my new 'family' of scarves! Even your Hurricane loves them :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys. Enjoy our day to be thankful & grateful for all we have & are. Note: I know that for most of us, EVERYDAY is Thanksgiving. I'm happy & thankful that I found your videos/vlogs, keep them coming. Hurricane's looking very festive in his little scraf, aaaww puppy, puppy. Love you guys, stay AWESOME!!!:)
OMG I literally just said that Everyday is Thanksgiving, no kidding! Great minds think alike Jeanette. Wishing all the best tomorrow and everyday. You are one special lady and we so appreciate all your lovely comments, Heather
I wish I could post a picture here of a way to wear a scarf that I just came across on Pinterest. You loop a necklace up - they used a beaded necklace - and feed the scarf through it. Put it around your neck and thread the loose ends of the scarf through the necklace. I’m not sure if that is clear or easy to follow. It was very pretty.
Love the scarf art wear!! Have you seen the ones where you make a shirt, skirt and dress? I'll have to find the link for you it was several years ago but they were so pretty, no sewing just tying knots.
Loved this.tell me how you store your scarfs so they don’t wrinkle so much. I’ve been using scarves for a while now and can use these ideas. Be comfortable with a few moments of quiet time in the videos. I so enjoyed hearing you talk. Love 💕 your videos!
Hi Victoria, I store my scarves on a top shelf above my cardigans and coats. I just fold them and lay them on top of one another. The faux fur ones don't have anything on top of them so they stay furry. If I have a silk one that is really wrinkled I steam it but I rarely need to do that. Thanks for letting me know you love the videos and I'll think about being comfortable in the quiet time. I just started doing these videos in June and I do appreciate any constructive input, thanks, Heather
I watch videos from other favs that help me “like👍” their videos with a friendly reminder. “ And if you enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up,below “ with a great smile, added before the video shot goes past the like 👍. Even if I love it, I forget to like them. I don’t know how this effects your channel. But I sure want to do all I can to support a great Lady as yourself.🙌
Heather I wonder if you would show us your pic's from your past when you were a model, the one you showed was awesome be nice to see them,do you still do modelling, xxxx😊😊
Hi Ellie, I have a link below for a TV commercial that I did back in the 80s. It's in French but you can tell its' me. I still do some modelling today. Here's the link th-cam.com/video/vZlqSMXRCko/w-d-xo.html
Hi I love this. Yet I was wondering g can you do this again with more clarity of light. Hard to see what paticularly if it’s dark scarf on darker jacket. C
Remember the old days in the sixties and early seventies when we used to put a ring around the scarves and we pull them in I used to use a double ring I'm sure you remember that from years ago
Hi Ana and welcome! We have so many that have let me know that they're in their 20's and 30s. Thanks so much for commenting that you enjoy the videos, it means a lot to me and "Hi" back from Canada !
Great ideas! So glad you touched on one of my pet peeves: hoods on coats! As you pointed out, it falls into your eyes, and the slightest breath of wind knocks it back off your head!! So useless --- aarrrghhh!😖 If they are detachable I will usually take them off the coat. You would think they could come up with a better design for these hoods!
Hi Heather, Wonderful ideas on how to wear a scarf! Love your collection of scarves, they are perfect for expanding your wardrobe. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Bill!
Hey heather I'm crazy in love with scarves, at the last count have eighty three, just happy to open my massive drawer and look at them....But thanks for great video, love you too Paula age sixty two also...
Wow! You are the queen of the wardrobe extenders!! (scarves) I don't think people realize how far your can take your current wardrobe by changing up looks with scarves. By the way, 1955 was a very good year, wasn't it??! Heather

I haven't heard of facial cupping, what is it? Heather

Thoroughly enjoyed watching your showing us how to configure scarfs and how to fashion them around your neck, head, etc. The colors, designs and textures were fabulous.
You looked smashing in the leather jacket!
The only one that I thought didn't give your good looks justice was the kerchief-like scarf on

Put it around your neck and thread the loose ends of the scarf through the necklace. I’m not sure if that is clear or easy to follow. It was very pretty.
Thanks so much for sharing. It sounds lovely!
Great ideas!
Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed the ideas, much appreciated, Heather
Thank you for this video Heather, really enjoyed it and will def. be using some of your ideas.x
So glad you enjoyed it Hazel . Scarves are the best wardrobe extenders! Heather
Love the scarf art wear!! Have you seen the ones where you make a shirt, skirt and dress? I'll have to find the link for you it was several years ago but they were so pretty, no sewing just tying knots.
I've made a vest, skirt and beach bag but not a dress or shirt. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome over 50 I’ve been watching since June. You’re really good, so go girl!,,, you’re going to be great 👍👍
I watch videos from other favs that help me “like👍” their videos with a friendly reminder. “ And if you enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up,below “ with a great smile, added before the video shot goes past the like 👍. Even if I love it, I forget to like them. I don’t know how this effects your channel. But I sure want to do all I can to support a great Lady as yourself.🙌
Thanks so much Victoria!

Hi I love this. Yet I was wondering g can you do this again with more clarity of light. Hard to see what paticularly if it’s dark scarf on darker jacket. C
This is an old video. Our lighting is a lot better now
Love this video really useful thanks xx
So glad you found it useful, thanks for letting me know, Heather
I think when you fold your scarf into the infinity style and put half on your head, your hood may catch and not drop forward so far.
Thanks for the idea of rolling the scarf. I’m short and often disappear with scarves.
You are so welcome. Scarves are certainly a great wardrobe extender so I'm glad I could help. Heather
Thank you!
Love mum 7 for next to nothing summer top.
Num 20 top looks great on u.
Thanks so much 😊
Love your videos.
Thanks so much for letting me know you love the videos, it means a lot! Heather
Remember the old days in the sixties and early seventies when we used to put a ring around the scarves and we pull them in I used to use a double ring I'm sure you remember that from years ago
I do remember that.
I have clip-on bangs I like to wear. They'd be cute with the kerchief style on the head.
That's sounds great Shannon! Thanks for sharing that idea with us! Heather
I am 30 but realy love your videos. I think you have very modern and great style. New sub fron Spain!👍
So true! Thanks for your input, they also are a big safety hazard if you can't see all around you walking in traffic areas!
Hi Heather,
Wonderful ideas on how to wear a scarf! Love your collection of scarves, they are perfect for expanding your wardrobe. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Bill!

Wow! You are the queen of the wardrobe extenders!! (scarves) I don't think people realize how far your can take your current wardrobe by changing up looks with scarves. By the way, 1955 was a very good year, wasn't it??! Heather
