@@markotrifunovic8964 🙏🏻 it helps to see that you and others like the videos and the tips. My goal is to continue as long as I can find an empty tennis court slot. Not easy, too few courts here.

Wow ! Not only do we play with the same racquet, but we share the same philosophy about playing - relaxed and calm ! Amazing .
So many videos out there about high intensity training, running and playing .
    I too say something before I hit the ball and during the ball strike . I say things like “ IN “ , “ bounce “ , “ Stop “ and “ Pow “ !
I also watch my breathing. And constantly saying to myself to stay “calm” and relaxed ( especially, when returning serves. When I’m waiting to return a serve , I’m totally relaxed . I keep my eyes on the server, his racquet and when he makes contact with the ball. The instant he makes contact, I say the word “ In “ ! I’m still completely relaxed up until I say the word “ In “. A split second later, my eyes can see whether the ball is coming “IN” to my Backhand side or Forehand! The instant I see which side the ball is coming in at ,, I explode into my swing ! I don’t do a split step or any unnecessary movement. When the mind and body is completely relaxed,, you can “ see “ the ball early and get to it !

The universe is an strange place. I play a lot of tennis but lately things have not been working very well. Today, out of nowhere I hit a shot with a loose grip and it was a thing of beauty. So I decided to play all through with loose grip on the racquet and what a difference it made. Tennis was sweet again.
But what's really strange is that, just before bed I fire up my TH-cam and randomly in my feed is a guy talking about hitting with loose grip lol. Everything he said is spot on and it all makes absolute sense now. Great advice. Thanks coach.

The grip size tip with one finger fitting in between is outdated. Nowadays players tend to use smaller grip sizes than 30 or 40 years ago. So, I don't think you can necessarily call a grip too small if no finger fits in between.
