- Marines with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, provide the Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel capability to the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Central Command 16.2, during their deployment to the Central Command area of responsibility. SPMAGTF-CR-CC is a well-trained, crisis response unit that has the ability to project combat power over vast distances using organic aviation, logistical, and ground combat assets.

This is not the first time Marines have had the task to rescue downed pilots or recover aircraft.
The downed Blackhawk helicopters in Mogadishu (Some might be more familiar with the movie) those were recovered by Marines, basic 0311 Marines to be exact.

Is this a specific MOS? How can I be put onto a path to become this Marine?
It's not a specific MOS. They're 0311 infantrymen. If you wanted to do specifically this, you'd have to be an infantryman and get assigned by pure luck to a company performing the role.
Start as a Bn Recon Marine, talk to a recruiter.
It's a secondary role of mortarmen which is 0341 (these 0341s, 0351s, 0331s and 0311s just so happen to be in a line company called Fox Co.) on a MEU, their weapons company is most likely tasked to another part of the SP-MAGTF, currently so the MEU commander picked the most capable line company with EOTG qualifications. To get qualified you have to go to Special Operations Training Group which is now called Expeditionary Operations Training Group. Another way is by joining MARSOC which will send you to most of the EOTG courses by default. If you dont want to be MARSOC you have to be infantry and your unit has to A) be rotational deployment to qualify for MEU status and then your company has to be hand-picked by the MEU commander.

K White actually they are all infantry except for attachments like radio operators and the Doc. I did 2 deployments leading a TRAP platoon. We were all 0341s from the Weapons Company of 2/4. I suppose each infantry battalion could set it up however the commander wished.
