I can't thank you enough for this video. This gave me the motivation to continue working on mine. About a year ago, I bought a 96 d21 in rough shape to fix up, and "gave up" about 6 months in because the damn thing just wouldn't run right. 2000 rpm idle, did everything I could think of and still couldn't fix it. Since then, it's sat. Tonight I decided to try again, and I found your video from less than 3 months ago, and with your advice it immediately brought my idle down from 2k to 1k. I've never had a greater success than that. Keep it up.
Thanks for your kind words and thanks for watching. I know your pain. They’re great trucks when they run right but when they don’t it could be a nightmare. Have you tried a new mass airflow sensor? That could effect idle as well a dirty throttle body and idle air control valve.
Where did you get your parts from. I'm having idle issues with mine and replaced egr , engine coolant sensor, new rotor and cap wires, o2 sensor still got a misfire running rich. Noticed mine has a EGR VACUUM SWITCH VALVE SOLENOID and its making a sparking noise wanted to know where u ordered your from I know there's about 4 of them in these trucks thanks and aloha from hawaii
I have a 96 Auto D21 Hardbody and I was wondering if my idle is a little bouncy and low could it be that I turn the T.P.S CLOCKWISE? Or it is always counter clockwise. Also it idles at like 900-1k during park then when I drop it into Drive the idle drops down could this be a problem of a fuel injector and fuel filter. Please let know I need help.
@@troyledz1961 if you turn it one way it lowers the idle the other way raises the idle. I don’t think your problem is in the fuel injector. Try adjusting the throttle position sensor. If that don’t work you might have a good ole fashion vacuum leak.
What did it end up being ? I’ve got a 1996 Nissan pickup. I’ve changed out the charcoal canister the vent valve that going onto the canister and all rubber lines in the back of the truck. I blew out the hard line with air compressor that head to the engine bay it was chalked full of charcoal. Not sure what else’s to do. I didn’t replace any of the round black valves. Wasn’t sure if it might be the purge flow control valve on the left side of the engine bay I blew it out and changed the vaccum lines in the engine bay also.
Thanks for watching. If you don’t know when the fuel filter was changed I’d try that.Have you try adjusting the TPS? Have you done a fuel pressure test? Clean the idle air control valve?
Buddy this guy is clueless.. if you have p0500 code the speed sensor in the transmission needs replacement. I’d also clean up your mass airflow sensor. If it runs better with it unplugged there’s your problem. Do the same test with the idle air control valve on the other side. My 97 Nissan would die at idle if I didn’t give it gas. Looked at these 3 things now she runs great.
@@KodyAllenEstep Thanks for watching, I never got a code p500. I was getting a evap code. The TPS does send a signal to the purge valve. so it's not a far stretch to see they are related. Don't take my word for it, read the wire schematic for yourself then tell me I'm wrong. P.S Nobody likes a negative keyboard warrior
Hi Mr Nik how you doing today i got question for you..i got a question for you can you tell me where is the TPS SENSOR for a Nissan hardbody D21 1993 thats the one i got tanks for your help in advance im from wisconsin state to cold
"I don't know why, it's just the way things work"
Best goddam philosophy I've heard in a long time.
Thanks and thanks for watching

After adjusting the TPMS, what was your idle sitting after warm up ?
Thanks for watching. It idles around 700 rpm
Just made my day. Fighting with my Nissan d30 turbo diesel since covid...Thanks.

Thanks for watching. Believe it or not a majority of the parts I get com from Amazon.

I replaced the whole evap system and still get a check engine light. The truck runs great so I just accept it as a fact of life.
Fixed me right up been chasing a problem for months man
These trucks are bullet proof
yes they are and thanks for watching
Hey buddy have a 97 hardbody I just got. It doesn’t idle at all.. only way it will run if u give gas

Hi Mr Nik how you doing today i got question for you..i got a question for you can you tell me where is the TPS SENSOR for a Nissan hardbody D21 1993 thats the one i got tanks for your help in advance im from wisconsin state to cold
??
Thanks for watching. The TPS, (throttle position sensor) is located on the throttle body opposite of the throttle input cable.
